Anyone?
Also would HTC Desire charger work with it? (the sticks looks same - microUSB, but looks like the phone is not charging)
Also if the phone is dead, is there any way i can check if the battery/screen or whatever else is faulty?
When i connect it under Windows with USB cable, it says that the device cannot be recognized and the drivers cannot be installed.
When connected with USB, i did hold the power button to turn it on but it doesnt start and the phone keeps vibrating continuusly.
Look on the back, or inside, even under battery, for more information.
I already know it's Samsung Galaxy Mini II, homever i have issues turning it on.
All microusb chargers are the same except for amperage. Try all you have. This phone is probably terminally damaged, but try a new battery if possible.
It's really strange (the phone was little wet) homever, sometimes it's starting just fine and sometimes wont turn on at all.
I have removed battery and put it to the bowl with a rice for a night and will see if that helps.
My "dampness" recovery is to disassemble and put phone/tab/laptop in in very low oven ie 125-135 degrees F for several hours. You may have ti turn oven on & off manually to get that low temperature. Your mileage may vary.
OK so basically the phone is in following state:
It's charging fine, homever the biggest problem atm is i cannot get the usb mass storage to work.
I'm connecting it to the PC and the phone is detecting it as AC charger not USB - PC is not even trying to install any drivers.
PC is not detecting the phone at all (phone is detecting that its being connected, the button backlights are lighting up)
I got no dropdown in the phone to select charging, mass storage etc. (when i do it in settings/communication/usb settings it keeps saying to connect the usb cable, but the phone is charging so its connected just fine)
When i was connecting it for the first time windows tried to install drivers but failed, also it was constantly disconnecting the phone from usb cable (now its fine it seems)
When i connect it using "Kies Air" it's working homever i still dont see the SD Card in "My Computer" for example.
What a mess, anyway any idea how to get the USB working again?
Try different cable, and/or different PC.
I ordered new usb cable, homever i doubt it's the problem as the phone is recognizing connection and also it's charging fine.
Hi all,
Just got my Infinity+dock, and I have a few questions:
(1) With the dock connected, there is a persistent notification of "Docking connected". It's quite obvious to me that the dock is connected: I can see it, I can see that the dock battery is charging, I have a mouse pointer, etc., so I don't really need this notification. However, I can't figure out how to turn it off.
(2) Similar to #1, with my MicroSD card connected, there is a persistent notification of "External storage inserted". Again, I know it's inserted, I put it in there. Is there any way to turn this notification off as well?
(3) I am having an issue charging the tablet and/or the dock via the included USB cord. If I plug the cord into a different wall unit or into my computer, the USB won't charge. (However, I know that it works because I've successfully connected the tablet to the computer.) The only time I can successfully charge anything is if I use the included wall unit. I would appreciate some help, as I can't see why a different wall unit or my computer won't charge the tablet/dock.
Thanks in advance!

(1) and (2)
- go into settings menu and click on ASUS customized menu
- Scroll down and to Use ASUS Quick Setting and uncheck the box
- Now click in the bottom right of the screen to bring up the quick menu
- With the quick menu up, click anywhere in the top portion of the menu (where you see the time/day/date/wifi/battery) and this will expand the menu vertically
- Toggle notifications to OFF
* keep inn mind this will also turn off notifications for emails/sms....
(3)
I only use the included wall charger so i cant comment on other wall unit charger. As far as charging via USB, no issues here using the included USB cable. Any chance you can trying another USB cable or trying a different USB port on the computer?

hhhhmmm...just notice the following
The tablet does not charge via USB to computer, it only connects to allow transfer of files between tablet and computer. The tablet only charges if:
1. USB cable is plugged into wall charger unit and connect tablet or tablet with keyboard dock
2. If tablet is docked the keyboard and plugged into computer via USB.....however, only the tablet charges.

Your comment about (1)(2) is not true. This will not get rid of the persistent notification at all. The only way I am aware to get rid of them is with some custom roms. I can not comment on the third part though. I do not have knowledge in that area.

Actually, it *does* get rid of the notifications for the dock and SD card. Problem is (as the OP states) that it stops *ALL* notifications, which makes it a not-so-desirable "solution" to the problem...
Trust me - I just tried it and the keyboard and SD icons disappear completely...

The notifications:
I would have never in a million years found that setting. However, turning off the notifications didn't turn off the "docking connected" and "external storage inserted" notifications. I tried restarting but still no dice.
Charging:
I only have the USB cable that comes included with the tablet. I tried different USB ports, but I can try other computers. However, I had a thought: the best computer I have only has USB 2.0; maybe USB 3.0 is required to charge the tablet?
It still doesn't explain why it won't charge if I plug the cord into a different wall unit: for instance, an Apple wall unit or a 4-USB wall unit that I have.

I wonder why it worked for you but not for me. Regardless, it's not that big of a bother that I'd want to do something so drastic as getting rid of ALL notifications...

Tablet requires 15V(correct me if I'm wrong) which is supplied by Asus accessory wall plug.
Computer's USB ports does not supply enough voltages to charge the tablet, however I haven't tried USB 3.0 port to charge the tablet it might work but I highly doubt it will.
Cheers
I often use the combination of a laptop with a smartphone on my way from home to work and back: the smartphone is used as an internetmodem for the laptop, and the USB-cable is used for the data-transfert between the 2.
Unfortunately the battery-capacity of the laptop is not enough to support both the use of the laptop and meanwhile charging the smartphone battery. So I would like to prevent the phone-battery to drain (too much) power from the laptop-battery. I can't switch off "charging through USB" in the phone since USB is the only available option to charge it. And -as I have learned from another thread in this forum- cutting the powerleads is no option too since the data-connection requires a minimumcurrent in order to work.
But what if I would modify the USB-cable with a small electronic circuit that would limit the current through the USB-cable to a value of about 50mA? That would be enough to enable the dataconnection but would prevent my laptopbattery being drained by the phone. Does anybody here have any experience with such a cable?
As stated in the title, i'd like to connect my 320 gig external drive to my phone (2,5" laptop hdd in external enclosure - galaxy note 2)
Since it'll be a long flight i'd like to power both devices.
I found a configuration online including a power/data usb y-cable (mini usb - 2x male usb) + usb otg
Now the idea is to connect one male usb to the powersource (5V-2A output, should be enough for both phone and hdd power),
then the other male usb to the phone (via the usb otg) and the mini usb to the external harddisk. (see photo for the idea)
By design of the cable this will probably work:
- be able to exchange data between the hdd and phone
- power the hdd?
But I wonder:
- will the phone charge (or at least get some power to extend battery life)
And (most importantly)
- will it work, or do I risk ending up with 2 fried bricks
halp!
-> attached photo showing setup (only car charger is a regular samsung 5V-2A wall charger in my setup)
On a side note, I did search the forum/google, but now one seems to want their phone charged or mentions it happening.
And I know about the issues connecting a hdd to a phone (galaxy note 2 in my case), but thats not the point of this post.
I bought the cables and found out that:
- i can access the hdd, it has enough power
- the phone wont charge
- no bricks :good:
So,. cr*p.
Oh and I found this:

Soldering iron, here I come.
Hello all,
To put it simple:
1. I buy oneplus power bank
2. Charge it with my original opo cable and charger
3. My oneplus didnt recognized as storage when connected to PC yet it is shown in charging state.
What I have tried:
1. enable disable usb debugging
2. select usb connection mode (mtp or charging or pnp) but it is not available
3. Recognized as storage using other cable data which havent been used to charged the power bank.
My question is : is it normal that your data cable will broken as soon as you use it as power bank's charging cable?
Nope, I think that's virtually impossible, have you tried using other cable to connect your phone with the PC?
