Hello,
Hope you guys are enjoying this awesome tablet! I am as well, until I started noticing the screen having a green ghost as I write on it with the S-Pen or when I'm holding it. Sometimes is stays for a while, others, it just flashes.
I have had this for exactly 14 days, should I just go exchange it at BB before it gets worse?
Here are some photos.
1st pic has the green ghosting 2nd is when it's normal, for compare and contrast.

Does it do it if you hard reset? If not, it may be some app or combination of apps you're running. If it's still doing it after a reset than definately exchange it.

I don't believe it's anything software related because it only occurs when I write on it or hold it on some places, so it must be hardware related. I'll try doing the hard reset and I'll let update on how it goes.
I did the hard reset and it was still there. Took it back to Best Buy for an exchange and the rep literally showed everyone around her the faultiness, then they decided to get me a new unit, and it felt like they went all the way to South Korea to get it.
Then they ring it up and try to sell me their "protection" plan and I say no and tell them that the 1 year from Sammy is enough and they said, "well you need this plan in case this happens again because we're not supposed to exchange with this kind of defect."
I just gave them a weird look and took my toy and walked out. Last time I'll be in there BB!
tl;dr BB gave me a hard time after they were ringing up the exchange when I declined their "protection" plan.
Exchange it!!!

Hello ALL!
I’m new to this forum as its a kick a$$ place to read and learn new thing to do your phone from what I read.
Now to what I’m here for is to see if anyone else is having the same issues that I’m having or if it’s just my phone and should go exchange it.
My phone will go to a blank black screen and but the touch buttons are lit up, also yesterday night it would start to vibrate like crazy with no incoming calls or emails, or text massages. And today I ran into the issue that it when blank and when I press the power buttons nothing happen so i turn it off and then turn it back on but it said no SD card was in (of courses not in those words, but by going into the settings under the SD tap that’s where I saw that info.)
Now as of right now I’m not in “Panic Mode” cause I’m thinking it could be a software issue that could be fix (I hope soon, like next week). An cause I’ve read things on the net where the Samsung Nexus S is having similar issues and to me that’s like this phone relative minus the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread, which I hope we get soon also.)

Thanks troby1986 for the advice, any ideas on what to tell them without them giving me the dreaded answer of “Call the manufacture.” I was going up to the store tomorrow after work and just ask for a exchange and telling them what going on whit the phone since I got it on the 23rd of Feb.
I'd say give your phone a factory reset first, go to Settings -> Privacy -> and tap Factory data reset. You'll lose everything of course, so ensure you have everything you need backed up, and it should work. If it gets wonky again, definitely return. You have time left on your return window. =)
Thanks for the advice princedwi , I’ll definitely try this I didn’t even think of this. And I hope it works.
The phone sounds like it is possessed. I would take it back.
I had mine go to a black screen the other night, and i couldn't turn it on, or off. I had to do a battery pull in order to get things working again.
Blank screen happened to me once and did the battery pull but ever since its been no problem.

So on Saturday after work I took the phone back and did a exchange and got a new Galaxy S 4G. This one so far in about 24 hours has not given me issues. Only issue now is that I’m not getting more than 4MB of download or upload. IDK why I mean I resided in Dallas TX were we have HSPA+ but still can get those crazy good speeds that I see of 10+ MB… But is should cry about that in a different topic…
Also I forgot to mention I did the factory reset on the 1st one I got on releases day and it would work well for 30mins but then continue acting up. And also I also had to pull the battery once cause it when blank on me also.
to fix all lags and constant reboots.. use this rom ..it superfast and Awesome

I beleive he's a year, two months and a day off. lol but he really likes MIUI.
Got the G2x Wednesday, set up and I would say 95% good out of the box, let the battery drain, factory reset, factory reset, factory reset (kinda like Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice ), kept my hands off while if fully charged, went all the way thru setup....
Little to no backlight bleed, fast speedy, did have the strangeness of it filpping between Wifi and 4G.. couple of reboots and freezes.. one strange battery drain...nothing systemic, just random..
Friday afternoon I said to heck with it, rooted (1-Click) and froze the T-Mobile AppPack, WiFi Calling and ONE of the two My Accounts (froze the 1.0 that was in it, left the 5.04 it updated from the market with), used AdFree to stop the annoying ads...
AND SMOOTH AS SILK, Since hen solid, no reboots, no freezes, no battery pulls... been using it heavy ever since Friday and loving it...
.. but this morning I notice I have a stuck white pixel on the bottom edge of the screen... NOT visible on black, only on a solid screen color. Tried the pixel fixers (let one run for 3 hours), no joy.
Now, I'm torn, return a smoothly running, no rebooting, speed deamon with one stuck pixel for the unknown.. or keep it and deal with the stuck (it's not really that obnoxious, it's on the very edge of the bottom of the screen)...
(this was a phone order, so have to wait for them to ship me one)
If it was me, i would keep it.
don't risk it... too many horrible bleeding backlight issues.. mine is pretty bad but I have no reboots no lag n no freezes so I'm sticking with it

My g2x has terrible backlight bleeding, 1/3 is brown, and it's totally useless stuck in a boot loop, so it really could be worse. Every T-Mobile in New York was closed today, so I've gone over a day without a phone, and I JUST got this thing

Do a factory reset, if that doesnt work then just return it.
I rooted my phone too, and cleared off the Tmobile spam- no more reboots either, regardless if im using it for hours or not. Battery seems to last all day and I didn't do any factory resets.

Not to hijack but how did you get adfree to work? It seems to work and says everything is fine but ads still show up. What am I doing wrong?

I would return it, create a backup of what you have currently before you exchange it so you can keep the same settings. Wait until a couple of days before the exchange period is up go to the store and say I want to exchange it I have this dead pixel ask the rep to open a new phone so you can test it for defects like lcd bleed/dead pixel. The reason for waiting until a couple of days before the exchange most stores will replenish there stocks and maybe(i would hope) you will have one that is less defective.
Yeah I'm confused too. I ran it and rebooted but the ads are still there.

Ordered it over the phone, so can't go in to the store and look for a good one, it's whatever they send me.
Peace,
I'd say keep it. Look at it as aa custom LCD job. Ha! All seriousness, you will get use to it, but as soon as you the first battery issue you will be kicking yourself.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. I am having an issue when I start the camera application it just shows the camera UI but the rest of the screen where the camera preview would be is totally black. On that screen hitting the buttons don't do anything.
If I open an application which uses the camera like Instagram it comes up with the error "Cannot connect to camera" or the screen goes totally black.
I am a bit of an Android noob but I can't figure out why this is happening. I have tried clearing the camera app's cache and force restarting it. It doesn't seem to help. The only way I can get the Camera to start working again is a reboot and then it might only work when I first boot it up. If I try again 15 minutes later it starting messing up again.
If you guys need any other info let me know, thanks for the help
return it, mine is just fine.
I tried to exchange it and all the AT&T stores are sold out
This is a pretty frustrating problem, compounded with the fact it seems I'm the only one having it.
Might be a dumb question but have you done a factory reset? Clearing cache normally will do the trick but if not, I'd go with a reset.
Well everyone, the camera problems turned out to be a symptom of a much larger problem that started happening. The LCD eventually started going rainbow whenever there was motion on the screen or I touched it. What this has to do with the camera I have no idea but I think there was something really wrong the hardware I got.
It's hard to explain what it looked like but it was like a seizure inducing flashing of white and other colors of the rainbow. Basically the LCD was failing or there was a loose connection in the hardware somewhere. I called AT&T and they were really awesome about it; they called all my local stores to find a One X for me so I could exchange it today. They even had the store set one aside for me, nice work AT&T.
When I got to the store all the employees gathered around to see my epically failing One X and everyone agreed the screen would kill a an epileptic person in short order. 10 minutes and I was out the door with my brand new HOX fresh out of the box. Overall this was not the experience I was hoping for my first few days with the phone but it was just my turn to get a dud I guess.
Couldn't be happier now that I have a fully functional phone, this thing is seriously amazing.
There are duds in every batch. Glad you were able to get it exchanged just fine
So does anybody have this problem on verizon?
I changed 2 phones with Asurion and both have this problem.
Is it software or hardware issue?
I don't know what to do
I have the edge from Verizon. I do not use the fast charger. This may not be relevant to the issue at all. But I usually charge my phone every night while turned off using a standard slow charger. When I first unplug the charger I can see the faint glow of the camera LED. Bye the time I'm finished getting ready in the morning the glow is gone. So sometime within a half an hour it stops on mine. After it goes out I cannot see it at all until I recharge it again. Not sure if there's a fix for it or not.

Well you also don't want one where the flash is always on. You will have to keep trading it til you get one that works. Who cares if it's a refurb. A refurb will probably be free of these kind of bugs anyways. You could also use the samsung warranty and send it in to them to fix. But that is what a refurb is anyways. A fixed unit. Not sure why you are so turned off by the idea of a refurbished unit. I could understand if it looked like it's been in someone's pocket for 2 years but if what you get is indistinguishable between a new and a refurbished one than who cares. As long as it functions the way you expect it to.
Ok, they told me that they will send new one. I just hope so that that one will not have problem. Because it will be third phone from asurion I am getting and there is no way to call them one more time. I am feeling bad about that, it's Samsungs mistake not theirs.

Just in case :*I encountered the same problem on my device (French provider Orange Galaxy S6). Yesterday I flashed the most recent Samsung stock ROM*I could find (G920FXXU1AOD9 ), and things seems to be better now. After I use the flash, it now turns off, although quite slowly (it gets dimmer and dimmer until it is completely off). I would not say it is fixed, but it is a lot better than before, when it would stays lightly lit during at least several hours...
Finally the problem is back after a factory reset. Third replacement needed. Just great.
I have the same issue. I noticed it at 5AM a few mornings ago. I woke up and it was still dark in my room so I clearly saw that it was dimly lit. Very upset about this issue. Why is it an Asurion issue if it's a warranty issue, shouldn't Verizon just send a "new" s6 to you? Ideally, I'd like to trade it in for the same one, but in gold, which is what I wanted to begin with.
Wow it has been a long time XDA, how is everyone?!
Anyways...last night as I was reading a text message my screen suddenly turned off and won't turn back on. Before this the screen showed no signs of damage, no artifacts and no tinting issues. The phone has never been wet and never been dropped. It is an unlocked Snapdragon model purchased directly from Samsung the day it was released.
The screen seems to still respond to certain things:
-Battery charge sound plays when plugging the phone in
-Holding power down seems to lightly vibrate the phone
-Putting S pen back into place vibrates the phone
-Calling my phone works (ringtone plays) but nothing appears on the screen
-Randomly tapping the screen like a mad man will make the texting noise
I've tried every button combo (felt like I was playing a **** flute) and I have tried plugging it into my PC but it does not recognize it.
Anyone else hear of issues like this?
Any recommendations before it goes back to Samsung?
Thank you for your time

Sounds DOA, sorry to hear that
Try a full charge. Pull the SD and Sim cards too.
Don't think it will help but nothing to lose.
Probably a failed soldier joint, connector or a solid state component that wasn't that solid.

Send it back to Samsung they'll either fully replace it or just replace the screen, one or the other but it won't make any difference the phone will still be fine after it's fixed. As long as you didn't do anything to cause it then it'll be taken care of free of charge.

You're welcome, wish I could of helped. Sounds like you tried all that could be done.
If you're stateside see if you can get it done here.
Talk to Samsung US tech support. Philippines and SK tech support suck so keep trying until you get US if stateside.
No idea what they will do... lean on them if need be.
They'll first want to inspect it most likely.
Maybe they own up to it... that's the right thing to do.
If not, teach them some lessons. The screechy wheel gets the grease. Don't settle for anything less than that phone repaired or a new one.
Let us know what happens...

Quick update
Sending the phone in was not too bad, just log in to Samsung and go to your list of products and select warranty (My 2 factor authentication was enabled and it was texting the code to my broken phone, Luckily I had a backup phone)
It will give you the option of scheduling a timeslot with a Samsung Experience store if you have one near you or mailing it in (I'm in Hawaii and there are no Samsung Experience stores here so I had to mail it)
They pay for postage just make sure to follow the instructions (They ask you to disable some sort of Google security thing before sending it in and to include the power cable and charging brick)
Print out the label they provide to you then pack up your items nicely and drop it off to UPS
I'll continue to update for those who may have the same issue or for those who need to send their phone in.

Just my experience. But it happened. It sucks majorly.
Just a quick update.
I sent the phone out on the 16th, it took 3 days to get from Hawaii to Texas.
On the 20th it was inspected and repaired (LCD issue) I am expecting the phone to be back in my hands on Friday the 23rd.
Samsung didn't ask me anything nor did they give me any issues.
When the phone returns I will take a closer look and let you guys know.

I'm sorry that happened to you.
I just received my phone in the mail. Everything seems to be working fine.
Apparently they had to switch out the screen and the bottom firing speaker.
I'll post some pictures the next chance I get, now I just need to reapply a screen protector and I'll be good to go.
