Can anyone get me a proper working cwm? I've tried searching here, and i'm a tad confused... I'm just seeking getting cwm, like my galaxy nexus. Not a broken version.
Goal in 2 steps
Flash bootloader CWM or recovery or whichever it is called for cwm
Then...
Install via cwm... ics/jb...
Can anyone give me a direct dl link? greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming you're on stock Gingerbread.
Flashing a one-click kernel with CWM built in, via Heimdall, is a pretty simple way of doing it. It's not quite as simple as what you seem to be looking for, but it's not difficult at all.
Click the following link and scroll down til you see Heimdall Suite 1.3.1. Download and install that.
http://www.glassechidna.com.au/products/heimdall/
Next, click this link and follow the provided links in the first post to get an idea of what it is, and how to use it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629079&highlight=uclb3
Once you have Heimdall installed and running properly, download and flash Entropy's 4.4.2012 Kernel from post #2. That'll flash the new insecure kernel, as well as CWM Red. Once that's done, you'll have a working CWM installation and be able to flash whatever you want.

The problem with heimdall, it keeps asking me to install driver or change, which I do over and over...
And the 2nd link refers to froyo, I'd rather avoid touching that period...
How many devices you have? Is it safe to assume this is the same as the following link? Answers will probably be the same.

Check this thread out and follow the link to the wiki. It should give you enough information to get the basics.

Also, do a google search for the "rooting for dummies" guide. I couldnt post the link cause its an outside source.
Just download Clockworkmod. It has a pretty comprehensive list for roms that are easily flashable. I agree the list isn't that great. But it will at least get you started on how to flash them.

I think you mean Rom Manager, which will allow the OP to flash clockworkmod recovery. Most importantly once you've done this, do a Nandroid backup! I can't stress that enough.
Once that's done you can download and flash one of the custom ROMs from Rom Manager or use it to flash a ROM .zip from your SD card.
Followed the guide using adb.
After is says I rooted and restart I get a bunch of artifacts on the screen. Please tell me I didnt brick it or anything
How do I fix it?!
stay calm, u cant just brick ur tf10. What u need to do is the following:
- learn how to boot into apx mode...u proly have this knowledge considering u got this trying to flash.
- go to dev section and search prime 1.8.x thread.
- it contains the NVFlash kit + the rom.
- if u dont like the rom...download the original version 3.2
- Go apx mode and run the script @ prime thread.
I experienced it myself. I belief it happened when i wanted to do the one click root.
good luck!
edit:
here the NVFlash with prime 1.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1123429
replace the img for 1.8 prime
Theres several download links.. So confused which one. lol.
Not sure what commands i have to run.
Edit: I downloaded the nvflash in the link.. in my control panel "APX" isnt popping up..
but what commands would I have to run and what img do I replace?

Okay. I figured I already had the Nvidia USB boot-recovery driver installed from when I first tried to root. So takes care of me not seeing APK appear in my device manager.
My internet is just slow and waiting to finish d/ling Prime.zip.

Ironic. I just found it through following links in the NVflash thread. Thanks though! waiting on download and then i can proceed
I got the Prime1.8.2.zip where do i extract it? The video is showing Prime 1.4.zip and the files inside are different.
You do not unzip the contents of ROMs you keep them as is...if that is what I am understanding from your text.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Well in the video linked above the download prime1.4.zip he extracts it to the nvflash folder and then runs the "Download" batch command
Do NOT use the ZIP file for NVFLash,
Download the Prime1.8.tar.bz2 file, extract the files and put it in the NVFlash root folder.
Prime 1.8.tar.bz2 here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231666
Okay, this is just confusing me now. You give me that link to download the 1.8.tar.bz2
The video has primev1.4.tar.bz2 and in the video it says to go into the prime1.4folder and move the 3 files into the nvflash folder.
The link you give doesnt just have those 3 files so im confused on what to do??
-The 1.8 is just the most up to date version.
-You can use the 1.4 like the video if you like.
Fixed. Im back in business! Thank you all for your help and patience.
Now should I flash the new 1.8.4? Still a little new of how the flashing on here goes. Been so accustomed to my Evo and CWM
I downloaded Rom manager.. shows "install clockworkmod recovery to flash roms..." I dont need to because the NVflash installed it already?
What are some things to install to help improve responsiveness/performance? Dont think ill do any OC'ing yet. Is there an app to do any underclocking/undervolting.. Are we able to flash the V6supercharge script?
ROM Manager is not compatible with the tf as of now and yes if you did everything during nvflash method, you should have
cwm install.
Just download 1.8.4 and put it on the removable micro sd card, boot into cwm recovery
and flash. Steps should be similar to flashing via cwm on your android phone.
Keep in mind, from here on outyou can just use cwm to flash new rom, updates or kernels, ect.

Same thing happened to me (rainbow screen).
All fixed now
This seems to be the norm for every new android device I get these days:
Unpack
Yay!! It's shiny
Crap no root (It's funny how you miss it once you're used to it)
Root and Brick - Crap
Unbrick
Reroot
Custom FW
Overclock
Enjoy ...

Next time and its really more easier just do it with NVFlash. For new FW and ROMS, just down load the NVFlash version of what ever u want (see DEV section for prime or revolver).
Replace or place the following things in ur NVFlash folder:
recovery.img (CWM i belief)
boot.img (boot conf and sequence)
bootloader.bin (pretty boot visuals)
system.img (the ROM!)
And ur done!
i cant install cwm on my phone, i flashed the stock gingerbread rom but i dont know how to root and install cmw so that i can flash custom firmwares.
superoneclick to root and then flash new kernel with sgs kernel flasher or some thing. or use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1333423 (cwm version) and then you will have root and cwm.
Any one of these will help you get the proper kernel support to install custom roms via cwm.
This one uses odin to get you ready. It has steps you have to be comfortable doing buts its pretty failsafe.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223765
This one was created to clear gremlins but it will get you loaded with a custom recovery and ready to install any rom you want. This is really a one click option. Probably the easiest IMO because you dont have to do anything but click a button once and wait for it to do its thing.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500427
This one is suppose to be the easiest. It doesnt involve odin or hemidall.

You are still incorrect. That is not the easiest way to get CWM. And you are welcome. The first link in my signature is the easiest way for NOOBS to get going. Read it and you will see. No Heimdall. No ODIN. Very easy stuff.
Rooting and downloading SGS Kernel Flasher beats the hell out of Heimdall and ODIN if you ask me.

Which method are you using to get root and CWM recovery? It sounds like you are trying to use the old method of installing the modified 3e recovery and then using an update.zip. There is an updated way to do this with AT&T 2.3.6, and the old way doesn't quite work the same anymore. Let me know which method you're trying so I know where to direct you from there.
EDIT: Since I'm pretty sure that you are using the old method from stock Froyo to get root and CWM recovery, take a look at this thread. It's a how-to that explains most of the ways to get root and CWM recovery on 2.3.6.:

It sounds like the old way using an update.zip. In Froyo, we used to replace the stock recovery with a 3e recovery that would allow unsigned files to be flashed. Then we'd flash an update.zip that contained CWM recovery. Just curious, how did you root, and is this AT&T Gingerbread?
I'd read through that how-to thread I posted. If you can use Heimdall or Odin, there are some quick ways to get CWM recovery. In that thread, I've also outlined how to do it yourself on stock 2.3.6.

To get Gingerbread with CWM recovery for flashing roms, you could flash Option C or Option D from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523
Or, if you prefer Heimdall, qkster has some nice one-click packages. There are links for those in the first thread I gave you.
If you already have root (How did you root, again?), then you could just flash one of the Gingerbread kernel / CWM recovery packages from here.:

Before you go any further, we need to investigate something. First, let's confirm that you are on AT&T 2.3.6, because most of us haven't found or made a working one-click program to root stock 2.3.6 directly. Can you go to Settings / About Phone and tell me what is listed under "Baseband version"?
If you can do that to confirm that this is AT&T 2.3.6, I'd really like to know what program you used. Or did you root the phone before you were on Gingerbread?
Any of those links that I've given you in the last post will give you CWM (clockwork) recovery to install different roms. An easy way would be to do Option C or Option D at this one. Either one will do. Here's the link again.:

Flash a kernel that has it. Which is that? Depends entirely on what version you're on. I got my TWRP by using Heimdall to flash the XperiaSlim boot.img over PACman. YMMV.

can u ellaborate on how you did this? Like a step by step guide. I have vs950 and it is rooted but need recovery or rom that includes recovery.
Step one. Go to your phone's forum, rather than the SGH-T959V forum.
Step two. Get a ROM that's the base same version as the one you want. The toolchain and everything else generally needs to match or you'll end up with random stuff broken.
Step three. Extract the boot.img file and put it somewhere you can easily get to it from the command line, like the Heimdall folder.
Step four. Flash it using Heimdall.
Step five. Make sure that it actually works. If your wifi is suddenly broken or something else is wrong, either re-flash the new kernel or your original.
Step six. Profit.
If the phone no longer boots, you probably didn't follow steps one or two. Sorry, it might be dead forever. Please try to follow directions better in the future. Post the pain in your phone's forums, since they might have some chance of getting it sorted out, unlike us.
