AOKP JB OR CyanogenMod 10 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

AOKP JB OR CyanogenMod 10
WHICH ONE DO YOU PREFER!!!

I use CM9 constantly for stability till CM10 is more stable though AOKP 4.0.4 I used that for more than a month and really liked the features so most of the time for stability I pick CM and for more (on board/stock) features I pick AOKP. Playing around with AOKP 4.1.1 it was unstable at the time but it should have gotten better but all the features that I missed and were missing from CM10 were there though CM10's build was a little more stable than AOKP 4.1.1.
Since they're both not 100% RC/stable beta then it all comes down to who gets better stability support first so you have to test them yourself and most of the great devs on our forums are keeping us up to date from the actual source. Remember more people work on CM than AOKP but like what AOKP stands for its a "Kang" of the features you like. Personally if AOKP has the stability as CM has then I would stick to AOKP.
You would just have to test it yourself or else it will be another this vs this thread and it will go on non stop. I flash a lot of things on my phone to keep testing which one I like CM9 -> CM10 -> AOKP 4.1.1 -> CM10 -> CM9
I think CM10 right now is smooth and nice, AOKP 4.1.1 is getting there but I always go back to CM9 when I need important calls or I am driving and using GPS because you don't want a random reboot to happen.
Overall I would just do a nandroid backup and flash away, if anything messes up then revert back. :good:

[Q] ASUS ICS x CM9 x CM10

We all know the official ICS for TF100 is a CRAP, and apparentily after .24/.27 they do nothing anymore.
Is CM9 for TF100 have all the official ICS bugs, SLODs, RRs, etc or is it stable?
What about the CM10 stability (i know it's alpha yet)?
CM9 is aosp so it has nothing official from Asus in it. The kernel seems to have been the main issue so its worth noting that Guevors/Raymans/Mysticninjas kernels redressed this for most ICS users.
CM10 is very much an alpha as suggested, however Eos3 and Raymans versions are very much improved. Eos3 being at the most polished and advanced stage.
Makelegs is working on CM10 based Jellybro and has made some improvements.
As for performance - ive been real impressed with Jellybean, even with the slowly but surely disappearing bugs. I would honestly suggest giving Eos3 or Raymans JB a go.
Just make sure you are on one of the latest recoveries, full wipe as always, and read the OPs to make sure you have all the files you need for a hassle free experience (ie gapps for all JB builds & the Super SU flashable zip for Raymans)
You can always flash back to ICS based builds if your not happy.....just remember to have an ICS compatable kernel stored for flashing if you do.
And dont use rom manager

Your Daily Driver

Many people, newcomers and even old time users go through each individual ROM thread to find out which one is best for them.
This will help them easily understand what other people think about the ROM, what the pros and cons are, how stable it is, etc.

Just want to start a thread in the Galaxy S3 Verizon forum.
Which ROM is your daily driver and what was your previous one?
also why?
This may help newcomers different types of paths and which one to take.

Current: jellywiz rls 11
Previous: jellywiz rls 8 hybrid
Why: I like touchwiz jellybean and having Google wallet and flash, those roms give Me all of that which are the only things I need root for.
Jellywiz is actually the only rom I have ever tried, I am new to flashing roms but so far this rom has been stable and has given me everything I need, I have had no reason to switch to another one.

CleanROM 4.0 JB.
current: Jellywiz rls 12
previous: Beans 15
Device: Verizon Galaxy S3
Current ROM: AOKP M1
Previous ROM(s): ParanoidAndroid
Why? AOKP allows me to change the notification drawer background. aong with some other small extra customizations i like.
Device: Galaxy S3 Verizon
Current ROM: CM (CyanogenMod 10) M2
Stable?: Yes (some facebook crashes)
Previous ROM: CleanROM 2.5, 3.0, 3.1, Synergy r77
Why these ROMs?:
I've been on the search for a ROM that fits me, something that doesn't have too many customization options, but at the end that didn't seem to work out so well for me. CM10 M2 does have a little bit more customization options, but at the end, it feels amazing to use. I haven't ran into any kind of performance problems, just a couple of facebook crashes, but that might not be due to CM10, maybe just facebook problems?
All of these roms are amazing.
CleanROM is great if you're looking for something.. well.. clean? There's not too many add-ons or options to change, just a little de-bloat ROM with performance tweaks. Overall it's nice and clean.
Synergy had a lot of useful options and a lot of features, but because of my OCD personality, I just couldn't handle the ROM. When I think I messed up one thing on the ROM, i had to do a complete wipe... T____T but overall, awesome ROM.
Device: VZW Galaxy SIII
Current ROM: Liquid Smooth RC7 4.1.2 (AOSP)
Stable?: Yes
Previous ROM: Liquid Smooth RC5, Synergy ICS
Why these ROMs? Honestly i love AOSP and having that pure google feeling on my phone. Touchwiz is nice and synergy does one hell of a job with there roms but i can't get away from AOSP. Its faster, smoother, and i just prefer it. As far as choosing liquid, well its been by far the best AOSP rom i've run on my SIII, and i used them back on my OG Droid days so that helps as well. Anyways yeah thats it
Device: Sgs3
Current rom: eclipse
Stable: yes
Previous: synergy (all of them, except the current 84jb class), Jellybomb, cleanrom, jellywiz, paranoid android, aokp, slimbean.
Why: started on touchwiz and built from there. Tw on this device is far superior than previous devices, though recently the android 4.1.2 builds have been just amazing. I really cannot live without the theme chooser in aosp, so tw jb's will need some dark horse/jellybomb/etc to send me back.... Eclipse has been very hard to top for me, will be giving liquid a go though soon.

Waiting for JellyWiz Rls 12 JellyBombed

AOKP M1 seems to be way more stable than CM10 M2
Battery life decreases normally, but for CM10 M2, i'm not sure if I just had a bad download, but the battery life just drops.
+1 for AOKP
Still using old CleanROM 2.1 w/ CleanKERNEL 1.2
Waiting for a dead solid Jelly Bean Rom
Galaxy Mod RLS4 Pure Motive!
Inspire 4G
Jellytime
past ROM ARHD 7.0.3
I wanted to update to newer version and one that is up to date, IMHO it is a good DD.

Been using AOKP M1 for a couple hours, since yesterday and all I can say is it's smooth and amazing.. it feels like butter (bad joke)
anyways, what I don't like about AOKP M1 though is there's a lot of settings that I have to mess with, but I like how Nova has the backup option so if I ever have to start from scratch, I can just restore from the backup.
Awesome ROM.
current: Galaxy-Mod RLS4
previous: Cleanrom 3.0
Galaxy-mod is definitely the best TW based ROM out there. Beyond smooth, and Pure Motive(ROM dev) is promising an average of 50+ hours of battery life for his upcoming RLS5!
Device : Verizon Galaxy s3
Current ROM: CLeanRom 3.1
Stable: Yes
Previous ROM: Liquid Smooth, CM10 official nightlies
Why these ROM's ??
I have been on the look out for a ROM that merges the functionality of Touchwiz but removes the bloat. I have tried a couple of ROMs based on the stock android experience but there were a couple of features like in phone - swipe to right to call, swipe to left to message missing (but present in touchwiz) that I absolutely loved. Just to clarify, I really did not find any problems with the other ROM's like CM10 or LiquidSmooth. It's just my preference for the Touchwiz features that made me use CleanROM.
Thank you everyone! This is even helping me. I've tried a lot of ROMs but it's great knowing everyones opinion.
Just an update, for future posts please tell how long you've been on the current rom. Thanks!

AOSP ROMS after JB leaks

I was just wondering if any of the AOSP roms are now more stable and less buggy after the JB leaks, or does that not really have an effect on AOSP? I ran a wouchwiz JB rom and had several little issues to the point were I went back to stock ICS. I have been running the first JB leak though for more than a week and have had zero issues.
Try this one
Ive been following the Jelly "Beans" ROM from Beanstown106.
His ICS ROMs are solid as rocks. He is on Build 2 of the Jellybean ROM and it's already as solid as all the others.
I did the same after the 1st TW JB release, I Went back to a different ROM because it was too buggy, no matter which ROM I tried. so when the 2nd leak came out I tried out Jelly Beans too, and it's been pretty good for me for the last few days. no real issues except tether isn't working
New rpm is incorporated into eclipse build 4. Major battery improvements when used with the current jb radio. This rom is pretty unbeatable in my opinion.

any aosp roms with camcorder volume fixed?

Best JB Rom for SGS4G

Which JB rom is the most solid for SGS4G at the moment? I've always used Cyanogenmod on other devices but it appears that for this phone it's quite broken.
Anything that's broken in CM10 for this phone will be broken in Slimbean or any other JB rom. If you want CM, use CM.
Our jellybean is in beta phase. Our jellybean 4.2 is in alpha and is currently not supported. Just a preview. Our most recent and most stable android version is our ice cream sandwich ROMs. So unless you want your alarm to fail on you like what happened to me I suggest you stay with ice cream sandwich.
@th3controller: how did alarm fail?
Anyhow, I think that if you are willing to run something without gps and camcorder, then CM10 is amazing. It is far more usable than ICS in that I haven't had it lag yet whereas ICS would lag if you would pull up the task switcher.

No best threads. Reported.
OP as you can see by the posts above...Jelly Bean is in the early stages (beta)...For the stability, well you are going to have to figure that out by trying the ROMs.

[Q] New Rom

Hi ...i have been searching for some time now for a stable JB rom..any suggestions? have looked at Eos 3 and Eos 4 but this is the first flash on my transformer and wanted input. Also where do you download Eos at ?? . looking at all the options they have and i am totally confused with build #
I would like to see Jb perform much better than Ics ..any help would be great
Thanks
EOS3 #81 with KATKernel #69 is my recommendations atm - That is JB 4.1.2
EOS4 is fairly new, a newer build of JB but has a few problems atm
If you want a fast, smooth, bug free ROM, go for EOS3 #81
4.1 is slower than 4.2 for me. TeamEOS's 4.2.2 is the best thing my tablet has seen in a long time. As stated above, there may be bugs as it's newer but I haven't experienced any show-stopper bugs or anything annoying.
You can get it from their official thread.
I have not had any bugs other than audio loss after some sleep (fix with the K.A.T Toolbox) on the EOS 4 latest ROM.
EOS 3 is stable, have not run it in a while though.
I was running the PA/CM hybrid of Mattmanwrx and it was stable.
new rom
Thanks for the replies ang info...think I will give EOS 3 a try.I was leaning that way have heard 4.2 had some bugs also might look at ray fx
