Best JB Rom for SGS4G - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Which JB rom is the most solid for SGS4G at the moment? I've always used Cyanogenmod on other devices but it appears that for this phone it's quite broken.

Anything that's broken in CM10 for this phone will be broken in Slimbean or any other JB rom. If you want CM, use CM.

Our jellybean is in beta phase. Our jellybean 4.2 is in alpha and is currently not supported. Just a preview. Our most recent and most stable android version is our ice cream sandwich ROMs. So unless you want your alarm to fail on you like what happened to me I suggest you stay with ice cream sandwich.

@th3controller: how did alarm fail?
Anyhow, I think that if you are willing to run something without gps and camcorder, then CM10 is amazing. It is far more usable than ICS in that I haven't had it lag yet whereas ICS would lag if you would pull up the task switcher.

OP as you can see by the posts above...Jelly Bean is in the early stages (beta)...For the stability, well you are going to have to figure that out by trying the ROMs.

Did you really tell somebody that has to ask how to get to GB to try ICS?
ICS is beta, at best -- if you want a "daily driver" I'd stick with a GB-based ROM (other than CM7 beta) at least until the "known issues" list with CM7, CM9, AOKP, and the like is much shorter.
Not a beta at all man! Ever since the last few builds of both CM9 and AOKP we've had very stable bases. I've been using AOKP since Whitehawk released his 2nd build as my daily driver.
Haven't tried any ics based roms yet, but cm7 is very stable and i haven't run into any problems with it

I use ICS as my daily driver, I don't need FFC and all the other stuff that people use.....Also going from GB to ICS isn't that hard....
As long he learns to get to GB, he should not need to do much more to get to ICS.

I second this. I've been using CM9 Release 0.3 ever since it came out and I haven't gotten a single freeze or random reboot yet. Battery life has been pretty good as well. I think our phone's ICS ROMs are certainly stable enough to be used as a daily driver!

Difference between cm9 and cm10?

Im a fan of cyanogen but i cant decide between cm9 and cm10. Im on cm9 atm. Can some help me with this?
Cm10 is the latest and greatest. Its a lot faster then cm9, and has google now and such. I would take cm10 over cm9

You can flash cm10 over cm9. Update gapps and clear caches.
CM10 runs really smooth. You will loose tablet mode on a lot of apps.
Check the screenshot thread in general if you want to see.
CM9 is based by Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0.X
CM10 is based by Jelly Bean (JB) 4.1.X
CM10 much faster
As stated above , much faster and has google now. There are still a few glitches with CM10, but worth upgrading just for the speed alone.

Well i own a different device (Sansung Galaxy W GTi-8150)...we do not have cm10 but a fully working beta version of cm9...what i just did was to flash jelly bean libs through cwm in order to get speed of jb on on cm9...and it works....maybe you should go for that...

That can be a recipe for a non-booting device...
Of course cm10 works good in our tabs as omap architecture the processor is open source so developers can work well to port cm10 to our devices
I'm in cm10 now in my tab and in cm 9 in my phone (s2) as cm10 is buggy in my phone as some hardware elements are closed source so developers can not work freely in the device but this problem not found in my tab (open source hardware so cm10 work sooo good)

CM10 is better

MIUI ?!?!

I`ve seen a lot of MIUI versions in android development section....so my question is ...which version is more recommended? and please..without chinesse.
I found MIUI last year, and have never looked back.
I've flashed CM and AOKP a few times, to see how developement was going (everything seems to happen a few months later on the sensation), but no ROM appeals to me like MIUI does, so I allways flash back a couple of days later.
Official Miui for pyramid (sensation) is still on Ice cream sandwitch (ICS).
I recommend getting your ICS MIUI here: http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/2-9-21.18200/
However, stickman89 is doing some amazing work with Jelly Bean MIUI for sensation over here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778870
If you dont mind occational glitches and bugs, check it out. Its well worth it.
(be aware, Poweramp and Chrome will not work with current release)

Add me to the list ^^
stickman89 's is the best one here, but I'm trying the one from miuiandroid linked above & it's very nice as well.
The only thing that got me at first was not having an app drawer, but after I discovered the ability to create folders, I never looked back.
Two things about the different links above is stickman's doesn't have an FM radio, where the miuiandroid one does; also Chrome works in the miuiandroid version, but I can't speak for poweramp as I don't use it.
I will say stickmans rom, it still has some small bugs, but it feels stable enough to use at a regular basis

Both chrome and poweramp should work in miuiandroid version. The official miui android is very stable.
There seems to have been trouble transitioning the sensation to aosp. The official miuiandroid.com ROM is therefore based on sense and that means that theming does not work, while stickmans is based on cm10 and is fully themeable.

AOSP ROMS after JB leaks

I was just wondering if any of the AOSP roms are now more stable and less buggy after the JB leaks, or does that not really have an effect on AOSP? I ran a wouchwiz JB rom and had several little issues to the point were I went back to stock ICS. I have been running the first JB leak though for more than a week and have had zero issues.
Try this one
Ive been following the Jelly "Beans" ROM from Beanstown106.
His ICS ROMs are solid as rocks. He is on Build 2 of the Jellybean ROM and it's already as solid as all the others.
I did the same after the 1st TW JB release, I Went back to a different ROM because it was too buggy, no matter which ROM I tried. so when the 2nd leak came out I tried out Jelly Beans too, and it's been pretty good for me for the last few days. no real issues except tether isn't working
New rpm is incorporated into eclipse build 4. Major battery improvements when used with the current jb radio. This rom is pretty unbeatable in my opinion.

If you're looking for core Android without Sense, look here...
4.1 - This one has been worked on fro a few months now. It's not updated often, but people seem to like it from the comments.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942239
4.2 - This one is in early stages of development, but it works pretty darn well. It's not clear if the developer is still working on it anymore or not though. So the state that it's in now may be the state it stays in.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2103459
Both have a few tweaks, but for the most part they are pure Android without the Sense overlay.
You can also use CyanogenMod CM10 and 10.1 ROMs and make them unction exactly like pure Android by not utilizing any of the special features and options.
If you want JellyBean with Sense...see the earlier comments in this thread. You're out of luck and will continue to be out of luck.
Thanks.
