Its been drying for a week by its self... its quite dry

Maybe try replacing the battery?
I'm no expert, but the only time the phone vibrates every 2-3 seconds is when it's plugged in and no battery is inserted. Maybe try another battery? It's worth a shot and is cheaper than replacing the entire phone. If you are lucky you can convince someone at a store that you will buy a new battery if you can confirm the battery is the problem and maybe they will open the replacement for you to try for free (it's worth a shot right?).

The vibrating indicates that it is operating at a low level, but unable to receive sufficient power to fully boot or is missing the battery. You can duplicate this with any known-good phone by removing the battery and plugging the phone in to a power source and turning it on. I assume that you have a battery in, otherwise it shouldn't boot at all. Can you get a hold of a spare battery to attempt powering it that way (the GSM Galaxy Nexus uses the same battery too)?
I repair phones for a (side) living. I'd be willing to either buy the bad phone from you, or repair it for you. If you aren't successful on your own, and would like help, feel free to pm me.

Thanks guys for the support! I will try to just keep it plugged in for a while seeing if it will charge it... if not my brother as well as 2 of my friends have the same phone so i could easily test there battery.
-Thanks for the help

Just letting you know, I just decided to leave it charging for a while and it looks like the battery just needed some charge!
-thanks for your help!

[Q] My GF's Shift no Longer Charges. Need some advice..

I just recently rooted her shift. everything was going great. Last night her phone died and when put back on the charger (usb or wall), it wouldnt charge. the red charging light would come on for a few seconds, but immediately go off. thinking to rule out the charger because we use the same cords to change our phones and my evo is still working and charging atm. Im thinking its got to be one of two things:
1) Bad Port
2)Bad Battery.
3)Both??
before i take this in to sprint to be looked at, can anyone on here advise me on what could be causing this and if i can fix it without bringing it in?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just leave it on the charger its suppose to do that on a dead battery. Leave it charging and after ten minutes or so, the charging light will be on completely. It happens to me all the time
Screen Wont come on....
ok, So we got the battery to charge. Seems like it turns on, however now we cant see the screen. its like the screen has died or went out. Please, if anybody can give me some advice on what to do with it.....im bout ready to bring this into sprint to see what they say.
Try a battery pull and reboot

If you get a light when you plug it in it's probably not the port. I just had to replace the battery in my Evo, but the symptoms weren't the same as what you described. Mine just quit holding a charge for anything more than about 15 minutes off the charger. Just out of curiosity, what happens when you try to boot into recovery? There's a chance that something went wrong on the last flash. If you can get a decent amount of charge, and can get to recovery, try a fresh flash with a full wipe(data, dalvik and cache) and see what happens. Just make sure you have 35% or better on the battery. If it shuts off halfway through the process it bricks the phone from what I understand.

Clean out the Charger port with Compressed Air. Try different HTC USB Cables, and keep in mind the knock off cables can cause all kinds of issues. But if the screen is not coming on, you can try to RUU it back to Stock 2.2. But if that still doesn't bring the screen back you may have to take it into Sprint.

[Q] Dead S3?

Hi all,
I went to take my break at work, phone in hand, working, put it in my pocket. Signed out, proceeded to the elevators to go downstairs, take it back out and no response. Okay. Fine. Hold power...nothing. Pop the battery out for 30ish seconds, back in, case on...power...still nothing. Get to my car thinking maybe it died even though it had 50% left to the battery. Plug it into my car mount and the LED doesn't light up. I work minutes away from a Verizon store so I decide to stop by. I explain to the rep what was going on, he plugs it in and nothing. He tries a different battery and nothing. We both tried vol up + power + home and nothing.
I have not rooted my phone, and the only thing I did recently was factory reset it over the weekend just to give it a "fresh start."
After I got home not too long ago, plugged the phone in using the cable I usually take with me (just happened to leave it home today of course) and no response from the phone. However, if I remove the back cover and take the battery out the LED light DOES come on if I plug the phone in again for several minutes and then it goes out.
From what I've read here and elsewhere there was something about a bad EMMC chip that caused phones to just suddenly die, could this possibly be it?
Thanks.
Sounds like a hard brick to me. Try this

If ur not rooted wat so ever then jst get a warranty replacement
If you don't have the ability to software flash it or if you honestly think its a hardware issue you could try getting a warranty replacement through your carrier as suggested or if you'd like to keep your phone and not get a refurb and are willing to wait a couple weeks, you could always send it to Samsung for warranty repair.
Feel free to pm me if you wanna troubleshoot

Woke up to a dead i727

Hi Guys,
I need thought my own Sky would give me problems since i take care of it so well :crying:
So last night i put the phone on my night table to charge, it had 9% battery left and the phone beeped since i plugged the charger and it was charging, now in the morning when i realize i'm late for work, i went to check my phone and it was dead(no alarm this morning). It was all plugged in still the charger and battery. Now i got to work and a work partner has a Sky too, i tested his battery on my Sky and nothing, tested my battery on his Sky and worked so my battery is fine(it was 100%), i tested my charger on his Sky and charged, i tested his charger on mine and nothing.
Tried plugging the phone with only usb cable to the pc without battery to reach download mode or recovery but nothing.
Now since our batteries are fine and chargers, im assuming my motherboard died which i was thinking if the battery would work it was going to be the charging port.
Is there a way to test each part of the phone o be more accurate about this issue?
Thanks in advance.

The phone won't do anything at all, i have fixed Sky's power button before and this is really weird. Stock Rom/Kernel, it was Android 4.1.2 and i have it for like 1year and 6 months.
If you need anything else let me know.
One more thing that could help, lately i noticed that the phone wasn't charging as fast as usual.I installed the Skyrocket charging app and when i plugged the charger to the phone it would say Fast Charge A/C 900~ mA and after like 30 seconds it would go down to 800, 700, 600 and then say Charger Wakelock 500~ mA.
Im really starting to think my board died.
Dead board. It happened to me on another Samsung phone a few weeks go. Came home from a day of fun. Put phone on table and plugged it in. Went to bed. Woke up to a completely non responsive phone. Got a new battery just in case. Still nothing. It was a great phone too. Oh well at least it died in it's sleep. lol
it happened to my sons s2 i9100, went to charge it and when he went back to it and it was dead, got it repaired under ext. warranty but cant find invoice on what they fixed if they even stated what they fixed, my guess mobo

OH Jesus Christ, i'll try to get a new mobo then and update this.
And i'll lose all my data and will have to restore a Kies Backup from May-2013. Great!:highfive::victory: :crying:
Had this happen once or twice. It turned out that the usb port on the bottom of the phone had some junk that accumulated in there as well as some signs of minor corrosion, and was not making a good connection anymore. It just needed to be cleaned out. First, I think I just (very carefully) used a needle or safety pin or something like that to gently extract the lint/dust/crap out of the port, and then cleaned up the metal connectors in the port, and one of the back inside corners where I saw a little bit of green/white build up, with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol. I let it sit for a little bit to make sure it was dry and when I plugged it in, it started charging again. I happened to have an Optivisor lying around which made it a bit easier to see what I was doing, but it isn't necessary. The most annoying part was getting a small, focused beam of light from a flashlight into the port at just the right angle, and then figuring out how to keep it there while I worked. Shouldn't take long, and as long as you don't do something really dumb, it can't hurt to give it a try.
Except that he ruled that out by swapping batteries with his friends phone.

Pixel XL power off by its own and won't turn on

Hi Guys,
I need help here. I can't send the phone back for warranty because I've imported it from else where. Also I didnt root it or install any mods or whatsoever. Running 7.1.2
I was just surfing the net, nothing fancy was loaded. It was in battery saver mode which means it should be in the range of 20ish% when all of a sudden it just shut down. Thinking it was perhaps low on battery and it shut down by itself I put it to charge, but there was no indication that it was charging.
I tried turning it on by holding on to the power button for almost a minute and nothing happens even when I waited for 10 mins and try again.
So i tried going to recovery mode but pressing power and vol. down button, after waiting for almost a minute there was a short vibration and thats it. And if I continue holding on to it, there was 5-6 short vibrations.
Is there anyone who can help me on this?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply!
Is there anything I can do about it? What about the vibrations I get when I hold the vol down and power button does it mean anything?
Maybe test the charger on a different device to be certain there is power going to the phone. Then leave it plugged in, walk away for 1 hour. Come back and try again... I've had devices seem to be completely dead because there was literally nothing in the battery. Plugged them in for a while, came back, worked like a charm. Of course this might be a long shot. Still worth a try. Good luck!

Try the below link , it should help you. Usually holding power and volume down key at the same time works. Then once in the down load mode using the volume down key navigate to the reboot menu and push the power key. Hth

Hello!
I am having this problem too and the key combinations of the above link don't work no matter if it is plugged in a power outlet or not.
Also if I plug it in a PC it is not visible to retrieve some files I really need, it just blinks the orange led.
The phone hasn't been physically damaged or rooted.
Can someone help with some link of a tip what to do?
Thanks.
Hold all 3 side buttons. If no response within about 60 seconds then either the battery has died or the nand has.

Go to the support page and try chatting with the reps there. They may be able to assist. If not they will open a repair ticket as this issue may be covered by warranty. Good luck.

Take the backing off the phone and unplug the battery then replug it in and try to charge,
If still nothing from the device, buy a replacement oem battery from ebay and fit it yourself as the battery has been left for an extended period of time the cells in the battery have no doubt died as these batteries always require charge in them to keep them healthy due to the shear size and capacity of them, letting the devices battery run to 0% or left uncharged for a extended periods of time is not recomended in any newer smart phone
Its incredibly easy to do i am a phone technician if you would like detailed instructions on taking the backing off and unplugging the battery for testjng let me know ill post them here it will take you half an hour maximum compared to 3-4 weeks minumum to up to 6 months maximum to be sent back if you send it to htc for repair.
Thanks
Matty1993 Thank you very much for the advice .
I checked the receipt and the phone was still in warranty so I send it back to be fixed.
I bought it from eglobal I hope they won't give me any kind of trouble.
I will remember your advice for any future occasions it's going to be needed.
Thanks again.
I'll keep posting about what kind of damage it had , how long it took them to repair it etc.

Lithium batteries don't like to be deep cycled. Letting it go below 20% and charging higher than 80% shortens the life span. I think that's techy speak for "it's crap technology".
Eglobal send me an email saying that it will take them a long time to repair my phone and they want to send me another HTC u11 with more ram and storage used but in "OK" contrition.
What do you think should I take this one or wait for my own HTC?
Any experience about the condition of these replacement phones like scratched screens, bad batteries etc?
Thanks.
