Yeah I went to Lg Open Source software yesterday and looked up files for my phone,.... This was there too,.... You would have to compile it with the android -Sdk, but it should work perfectly accourding to the ReadMe inside of it:

Ok so lg open source has released a new ics update for the viper on the open source website its been.up for a few days so and has a new name so I'm thinking they have worked out the bugs

I had seen on two sites rumoring that ICS will be pushed out October 24th. I may just be spreading a fire however.
Just got conformation from LG that LS840ZVI is the final version.

june 15th thats what tech support told me she also said if u have a task killer to temporarily remove it??? so the update comes thru then she said make sure ur battery is over 50 percent charged and make sure u have enough memory......so we will see but she said its def rolling out and that a few of her coworkers got to try it and it was nice, and its just 2.3 not 2.4

As far as I know Cyanogen is making a ice cream sandwich build and it is currently in alpha. This is for the g2x. We have other developers working on the optimus 2x and are relatively in the same situation.
No one seems to be able to get sound and camera working. I recently found out that CM now has sound working, but still no camera. Almost everything else is working
. So the ueation arises... Where is it? If your looking for a copy of it, I'm sorry to tell you that it is not available for just anyone.
It is however available for a limited number of people... 20 actually. Everything is working on my build!!!! But it needs some stability so I'm looking for some beta testers who have a g2x and an active carrier.

Everybody knows the O2x version will not work on the G2x. Also a leak from LG. Don't think so.

Well they have been working on I.C.S. for the SU760, we already have V29b and c downloaded. I can't honestly see them not having P920 roms also. As for getting P920 I.C.S. this month, I voted yes.
It looks like egg on face time for me, however, it isn't the end of the month yet.
As always, time will tell.

The OFFICIAL ics is out for su660. When kernel source cones, p990 can be made stable with the drivers in it. Which will make p999 workable when devs get to it.
Hence indirectly out of luck g2x got a life.

He's the reason we have anything on our phone. He's a true developer, not just someone who can compile pre made work. He lays the basis for all the roms.

Each n every Dev here is skilled. For me there has always been 3 kind of peoples. People who are end users who just buy the phone and fear to fiddle with it cuz it will void the warranty. Others are power users who doesn't care about warranty and do flashing testing and even sometimes tweaking the code (these are the extreme power users). The last are developers some who add their own logic to the code to add new things and fix things the others are extreme developers (who has the android code in their brains like people in LG and Ricardo and last but never the least Google itself)

RC is the cyanogenmod developer who is in charge of the LG devices. But that's not to say everyone else isn't skilled cmon man.

I didn't mean to say the others aren't skilled. RC just does the forefront of developing while most developers use his work plus other cherry picks. It's way more than I do, for sure.
And I was just talking about rom devs, faux and morfic are amazing kernel devs. Every dev here is awesome, but we need to really credit RC for the huge amount of work he puts into our phone.

The Optimus black's source hit in a couple days.
So what about the news that the Atrix has a leaked official build of ICS now? It's the only other Tegra 2 device that is exactly like our phone. If it would have came out months ago it would have been nice but now that it's out so soon to an official release for the p990 it makes me kind of sad.

Been covered before, the Atrix is a bit too different to be of much help. It's a Tegra 2 but there are some differences.
I'm just concerned if the Korean Su660 is similar enough to the P990, and thus the P999, for its source to be of use, or if we still need to wait for p990 source?
My secondary concern is that there will be additional time/issues getting all this to work on Jelly Bean, which is what the "cool devs" are going to work on anyway.

It's the same phone, minus a button + an antenna. Besides, the p990 is pretty much a p999 with a different radio and partition, while the su660 is the same with different kernel level changes (as the p990) (or something along these lines. It will get us cm10 though)

As far as i know, the difference from ICS to JB is MUCH MUCH smaler than GB to ICS. From what ive collected so far, if we got the ics source we will be able to get JB to work almost flawlessly, maybe not perfect, but a normal user like myself wouldnt be able to tell any difference.

Yes, with source for ICS, JB will run fine.
My Iconia tablet was upgraded to ICS stock, than with the source, the devs pounded out a fully functional JB ROM. I use it as my daily driver.

There is only ics sources so dont get too happy, i highly doubt we will get jb from cm team as well since its more work then just porting over. ICS kernel by lg only covers p990 and su660. If RC makes one for us, thats great else we are basically on our own. Please stop spamming for this crap already. T-Mobile & nvidia along with lg has screwed us.

Umm..... The ICS sources are compatible with JB. And RC has already started development for it.... He's most likely fixing the majority of bugs for the p990 and then porting it to the p999 so yeah.

Also it's not just spamming, it's an actual liability for us. Let me repeat this: bugging the devs (namely RC) may threaten our chances of ever getting a viable port of CM10 and 10.1. RC has already shut down the O2x thread because of (*) whining about timelines, problems already answered and general crap that doesn't help development. We should keep our forum strong and lively so the devs know we are still here and hungry, but that we aren't a bunch of freeloaders (which we are actually) that feel entitled to their time and effort.
