Samsung firmware world. Google it. Not on samsung website. Its not an official release yet. And it does not fix gps. It helps a little but really not worth it. Just be patient and wait till september when it becomes official. That's probably your best bet. I am running it currently and not impressed really, plus there are issues with apps missing after updating.

True i almost pissed my pants the first time i saw it LOL.
End of September could not come any sooner. Its really frustrating when im on the highway and the phone is telling me im on some side street and not on the highway....damn thing wont shut up.

I really don't know what the fuss is about. i don't use my gps that much but i did the quick gps fix and it seems to work fine. it finds me in seconds and locks in. i don't lose the signal anything. I think maybe setting are not set correctly. who knows who cares. no need gps. google maps is just fine for me to look up stuff. I just want Froyo. It be so nice. For now stock android is fine too.
Edit: Try this new firmware just released this morning. Maybe there is a fiix. I haven't flashed it yet. I phone is all mummy-fied. Just applied the phantom-skinz and wrapped it with white tape. I will try it later this evening though. I want to know what is new on the new rom.

Fresh out of the weekend since their support page was updated. A 5-3 release makes sense. Hopefully the radio version is different than the leak, which is reboot happy due to the radio. Software versions match though.

i apologize if this info was already posted. I was just trying to share some info i just noticed. as many people have stated, i have not seen an actual date of release. I also have access to phones a few days before they are released so if there is anything i can do to help the community, please let me know. i have a thunderbolt, and being an employee, i can have my phone replaced whenever needed so i am willing to try pretty much anything (guinea pig anyones software). so if any dev wants me to try something i am more than welcome to.

Ditto - plus checked this AM.
Same here. Only the first week or so after 4/20 did mine say server error. I've consistently gotten the "you have the latest update" message since at least 5/1.

I am rooted with different recovery and get the "you have the latest..." message. I initially got the response you did - how long have you had the phone? It may be that TMo does not have your IMEI number set up on your account.
Don't worry - as soon as it is out - there most likely will be a flashable rooted version posted very soon thereafter.
Oh man... I think we are jumping the gun a bit... It will be at least a couple days, probably more... A LOT more...

Every day I'm reading and hearing about all the other phone makers announcing ics for there devices. HTC, Motorola, LG. Even the tablets. I'm getting a bit impatient for ics on our skyrockets, I love this phone but damn! And I'd rather not put a custom rom on it, I like the stock builds from the maker.

According to at&t q1 of 2012 so by the end of april
Naturally they are going to tend to the more popular phones first. SG2 base will get it way before we will. It will probably be April (optimist), if AT&T doesn't push back the release. Like they did with the SG1. Then it could be Christmas.... or, next Valentines day.

Q1 2012 (if we are talking fiscal year), would be Oct 1st - December 31st. So lets hope they are just talking about the first quarter of the calendar year. In that case yes Jan 1st - March 31st (although this is Q2 of the fiscal year).

Every other manufacturer has ANNOUNCED that they will be bringing out ICS but none have it out yet. I don't see any point of you making a fuss about something that was promised, if they were all actually USING it before us then that would make sense.

Well they have been working on I.C.S. for the SU760, we already have V29b and c downloaded. I can't honestly see them not having P920 roms also. As for getting P920 I.C.S. this month, I voted yes.
It looks like egg on face time for me, however, it isn't the end of the month yet.
As always, time will tell.
