No Sim Card - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

My S3 has been giving me a no sim card issue. It happens when I try to text or make a call. I then have to wait approximately 30 seconds for it to reconnect then try to send the text or make the call again. This is very annoying. So annoying that I am thinking about taking the phone back into verizon and getting a different phone.
I have read others on the net that have had this issue as well. Are there different radios or is there something else I can do to resolve the issue? I like this phone but this 1 issue is ruining it enough to where I am thinking about trading it for a different model.

I got that after having the phone for about a month the first time last night when I received a call. It asked if I wanted to accept my friends call or send to voicemail. Then it started flipping out with no SIM card notification and screen turning off and refusing to stay on. Had to reboot to fix the issue. No idea what, but something went terribly wrong and definitely scared me. Network here gives all sorts of trouble on any 4G phone.

Randomly unable to receive calls

A few weeks ago I got a HTC Desire on Virgin Mobile (I believe they use T-Mobile's network) in the UK.
I'm having a bit of a problem with it, though. At seemingly random points, if somebody tries to phone me, it will go straight to my voice mail. If I then try to phone them back it will work. And usually, if they try to phone me back after that it will work too.
At first I thought it might be a problem with my phone being on standby, as that's when it seems to happen the most. But I have received calls when it's on standby and I've also had a few calls go straight to voicemail when the phone isn't on standby too.
Does anyone have any ideas why this might be? I've tried looking through the phone settings for anything obvious that could be causing this problem but I can't see anything.

[Q] Stopped receiving texts... WTF?

So Around 12pm (MST) I stopped receiving texts and found it weird people were asking why I hadn't responded and I thought it was a root or other tool that messed something up.
After trying to do a restart and taking out the battery I finally did a factory reset and got texts from WAY before I rooted my Captivate and everything was stock.
Has anyone run into this problem? And does anyone know if there's a way to reset the communication data (like in the iPhone)?
I've had this problem multiple times. I get MMS messages, and I can send texts, but not receive. Both with my current Captivate and my last one. I called AT&T when I had the old one and they had to reset the routing tables. Well after like 16 hours nothing happened (they said it could take up to 24) so I went and got my Captivate replaced. Put my SIM in, bam. 51 new text messages. It happened last night to me too. Called again, but this time it fixed itself. So give them a call, see what they can do..
It has only happened to me once and that was when I had just gotten the phone. I was told by an at&t rep to take out the sim card for like a minute...I did that and it hasn't happened since. I'm rooted now and no issues, so it's not caused by rooting.
Sent from my Samsung Captivate!!!
This happned to me too but all I had to do is reboot the phone then I was able to send and recieve again.
I noticed at work we sometimes get complete outages in service (we have an AT&T repeater on our roof at HP since we're out in the middle of nowhere and only get Edge) and after leaving work and getting reception I didn't receive any texts.
I shut down the phone, took out the battery, and booted it back up and sure enough about 6 text messages came in. So powering down the phone and just starting it back up didn't do anything but removing the card seemed to do the trick.
I just don't get why it does that :-\

anyone else had these issues

So i want to inform the Tbolt community on the major headache the past 3 days have been, just in case anyone else has had similar problems or will later on.
Starting on Monday at 530 pm est my data connection started acting up.
I would be trying to load a web page, and it would say network issue, meanwhile my 3g icon is there with the arrows lighting up like crazy
I went into the radio menu ran the ping test and got errors all over the place. Proceeded to do a battery pull, same issue.
At this point I got home didn't want to deal with verizon and threw on wifi.
Day 2: Next morning it couldn't even connect to 3g, so my initial thought was another outage.
Later 3g is back up but same issue as before, I finally call verizon they see an error and they fix it.
Day 3: I go to make a phone call and get a message its connecting me to a cellular operator to make a collect or credit card call, i try again same thing. Friends try calling me it says the person your calling cant be located.
I call verizon, 40 minutes later they tell me to do a full reset on my phone, I do no resolution. I call back they see the error and fix it
Day 3 continued: next phone call i receive comes up as unknown, I answer its my boss, whose number I have saved. I have someone else call, same issue. This issue persists the rest of the day until I call verizon, now that issue is finally fixed.
Now I'm sharing this mainly because Verizon insists they are all isolated incidents that just so happened to occur right after each other, even the fixing my voice issues to calls showing up as unknown. I personally believe that w/e the first tech did to fix my data issues, started making my phone a ticking time bomb for the other two issues. If anyone else runs into similar problems maybe verizon can figure out a way to fix one and prevent the others, so no one else has to deal with tier 2 tech support as much as I had too the past 3 days.

Just got my 5 yesterday... problem today

So i traded to a nexus 5 from my gs4. everything was good yesterday buuuuuut.

did a factory data reset, same deal. cant call, get calls or text.
i get this message when i call my phone or try calling from my phone "we could not complete your call, please try again"
its weird it will off and on let me call out from my phone. but cant get calls or texts
going to the store where i got it tomorrow.
anything have something similar happen?
Sounds like a hardware problem. DEMAND FOR A REPLACEMENT!
When I bought my second N4, I had a similar problem. It would connect to 2G but never 3G. LG replaced the whole unit for me
no wonder why he traded his n5..
Maybe issue is with the sim card. Tried another one?
I had a similar issue with a phone last year - turned out it was my Sim Card as mentioned above. To be on the safe side I would contact your carrier, request a new sim card but also request a new handset. A new sim card should only take two days to come maximum and you should not be charged for this, providing you are on contract and paying monthly.
+2 on the sim idea

No sim card inserted ? help please

Hello guys this week ive been dealing with this problem ..actually lots of problems on my great s8+ , but this one wont stop .. it says i need to insert sim card.. i havent droped the phone or put it on water or whatever.. idk why happened..any idea please ?
Similar issue here!
I am getting a "No SIM card inserted" popup about two or three times a day. Restarting the phone fixes the issue for the meantime, but it invariably returns.
I then receive a text from "8787" that says this (or something similar... XXXs are my phone number I edited out): "//LL:1563:1508721227190:GIG:X:+T1G4Sn32guRhu2oJ/SzHNU9NCw=:XXXXXXXXXX:H513D1VZ8QL5CVD38MEXCV4YVNNR5QPB"
Attaching screen shots for reference Any ideas guys???

I have had the exact same experience and I'm trying to make sure it's not my phone getting hacked. A quick google search shows that 8737 is the number Sprint uses for the Sprint Mobile Controls Android Application. Not sure what that means.
I just made a past due payment on my Sprint bill today. My service was never shut off but that may have something to do with it.
Do you use Sprint? Was your bill past due? I'm wondering if them shutting off service could potentially cause the sim card error. That text scares the hell out of me though. You're braver than me for keeping your phone turned on after seeing it.
