No sim card inserted ? help please - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hello guys this week ive been dealing with this problem ..actually lots of problems on my great s8+ , but this one wont stop .. it says i need to insert sim card.. i havent droped the phone or put it on water or whatever.. idk why happened..any idea please ?

Similar issue here!
I am getting a "No SIM card inserted" popup about two or three times a day. Restarting the phone fixes the issue for the meantime, but it invariably returns.
I then receive a text from "8787" that says this (or something similar... XXXs are my phone number I edited out): "//LL:1563:1508721227190:GIG:X:+T1G4Sn32guRhu2oJ/SzHNU9NCw=:XXXXXXXXXX:H513D1VZ8QL5CVD38MEXCV4YVNNR5QPB"
Attaching screen shots for reference Any ideas guys???

I have had the exact same experience and I'm trying to make sure it's not my phone getting hacked. A quick google search shows that 8737 is the number Sprint uses for the Sprint Mobile Controls Android Application. Not sure what that means.
I just made a past due payment on my Sprint bill today. My service was never shut off but that may have something to do with it.
Do you use Sprint? Was your bill past due? I'm wondering if them shutting off service could potentially cause the sim card error. That text scares the hell out of me though. You're braver than me for keeping your phone turned on after seeing it.

The Phone Fried my SIM Card

So it finally got here. I spent four hours loading apps and setting configuration. I turned it off to clear it out and when it rebooted it said "no SIM card, emergency calls only." It was the card out of my G2 so I thought there was something wrong with the G2X. When I put the card back in the G2 I got the same thing - "no SIM card." I've been through a lot of SIM cards over the years and never had one crap out so I'm assuming the phone did something to it. I'm on the phone with T-Mobile now trying to get the new SIM card that came in the G2X box provisioned.
It also spontaneously reset my Bluetooth settings back to stock wiping out all the paired devices and the name I gave it.
There's other strangeness to report but I'm too tired. Tomorrow.
I would like to know how that'd be possible. .. frying a sim card?!? I mean could it short it out? LOL everyone is posting a lot of problems. Only thing I'm pissed about is this bleeding on black/dark screens.
Other than that this thing smokes any phone I've had!

Bluetooth issue happened to me once so far.
It happens. More than likely, it is just coincidence.
I have had a SIM last 7 years, and I've had one last only a couple months.
It's nothing to do with the phone, just get a new SIM and move on.

[Q] Activation Issue

Hey there,
I recently bought a Charge from swappa.com. I have 6 months left on my contract from when I bought my Incredible, but that thing barely works anymore. The Charge came without a SIM (unsurprisingly), so I took it into the Verizon Wireless store and they gave me a SIM. The phone sat on the Setup Wizard with a dialogue box saying "please wait..." with a spinner, for about 20 minutes, then got to a screen with a "Phone Activation" header that says "There is a problem with activating your phone. Please restart and try again, or contact customer service." I click restart, and that doesn't solve the issue (it just does the same thing).
I've been wrestling with this thing for two days now. The guy at the VZW store called support, and they went through five different people who didn't know what to do, and finally they put in a request for support that apparently will be resolved indeterminately. The ESN checked out fine, and the SIM card is fine (we even tried a second SIM card). It can reach the servers fine (if I hold down the search button I can do a voice search and it browses the web as if nothing were wrong). Unfortunately, my phone number is in the air (it's been pulled from my old phone and won't hit this phone).
I was wondering if anyone had some insight on this problem.
Thanks!
Same thing is happening to me. I have to flash back to stock in case I have to go back to the store and figure this out. Crap. I tried different sim cards and she couldnt get either to work. Ok I flashed back to stock so when I take it in I dont have a problem but I cant get through the process because of no signal and it shows a date and time as december. Is that because the ee4 file I flashed was from december?
LOL data network issue supposedly. Network down.
I just bought a used droid charge and ran into this exact same issue. After a few hours of reboots and battery pulls, I held down the power key to turn off the phone and noticed an option to activate data networks. after turning on 4g, i was able to activate my device perfectly. Hope this helps someone.

i know someone who had an issue like that for some reason, he came to me for help, for some reason all we did was swap sims once activated, we swapped back and everything worked like normal after that

No Sim Card

My S3 has been giving me a no sim card issue. It happens when I try to text or make a call. I then have to wait approximately 30 seconds for it to reconnect then try to send the text or make the call again. This is very annoying. So annoying that I am thinking about taking the phone back into verizon and getting a different phone.
I have read others on the net that have had this issue as well. Are there different radios or is there something else I can do to resolve the issue? I like this phone but this 1 issue is ruining it enough to where I am thinking about trading it for a different model.
I got that after having the phone for about a month the first time last night when I received a call. It asked if I wanted to accept my friends call or send to voicemail. Then it started flipping out with no SIM card notification and screen turning off and refusing to stay on. Had to reboot to fix the issue. No idea what, but something went terribly wrong and definitely scared me. Network here gives all sorts of trouble on any 4G phone.

Just got my 5 yesterday... problem today

So i traded to a nexus 5 from my gs4. everything was good yesterday buuuuuut.
today, and i dont know what time, i havent been able to make calls or texts. everything else works.
called customer service, walked me thru some troubleshooting... no luck
went to the store, they tried doing some stuff, took out the sim and put it back in. worked for a sec. then no workie.
did a factory data reset, same deal. cant call, get calls or text.
i get this message when i call my phone or try calling from my phone "we could not complete your call, please try again"
its weird it will off and on let me call out from my phone. but cant get calls or texts
going to the store where i got it tomorrow.
anything have something similar happen?
Sounds like a hardware problem. DEMAND FOR A REPLACEMENT!
When I bought my second N4, I had a similar problem. It would connect to 2G but never 3G. LG replaced the whole unit for me
no wonder why he traded his n5..
Maybe issue is with the sim card. Tried another one?
I had a similar issue with a phone last year - turned out it was my Sim Card as mentioned above. To be on the safe side I would contact your carrier, request a new sim card but also request a new handset. A new sim card should only take two days to come maximum and you should not be charged for this, providing you are on contract and paying monthly.
+2 on the sim idea

A confusing problem with my phone's cellular network service.

Hey guys. I have an unusual problem with my phone.
I was using my phone one night while in bed, playing a game that requires online connection when suddenly, my phone slipped from my hands. I managed to save it from falling to the floor, but it hit the wooden frame of the bed in the process. I checked the phone out and noticed no problem with it. The screen was fine, nothing broken on the exterior. So I tried to go back to my game, but it complained that there was no internet connection. That was when I noticed the signal had disappeared and the phone displayed "No service". I tried turning airplane mode on and off........nothing, restarted the phone.........no change. I turned off the phone and went to sleep.
In the late hours of the morning, I switched it on, and was greeted with the "emergency calls only" warning. I tried removing and re-inserting the sim card, restarting the phone and when I tried everything I could think of, I did a factory reset on the phone. Still, nothing changed. So, to rule out the possibility that the service was at fault, I removed the sim and inserted it into my brother's phone. It worked as it should! I inserted my brother's sim into my phone, same thing. At times, I get "No service", at times, "Emergency calls only", even some times, I get "No sim card", when there's actually a working sim card in the phone. These led me to believe the phone isn't detecting sim cards, but sometimes, the phone recognizes my sim card and the signal shows up, but I'm unable to use mobile data connection, make or receive calls or texts, or even dial a code to check my airtime balance.
So I decided it was definitely the hardware that had developed a fault. But then, one day, I went to visit a friend quite far away from where I lived, and I took my phone with me. To my surprise, my phone worked flawlessly there. I was able to use data connection and was getting good speeds. I was able to call and text. I removed the sim and put in another sim and it was the same.........worked flawlessly. Now, I don't know what to think anymore because as soon as I got back home, I was again getting the No service/Emergency calls only warnings, and the same sims work in my brother's phone - my brother lives with me.
** I know (or think) it's not a software problem because it would have been resolved after I hard reset it. Plus, it all started when it hit the bed.
** I know it's not the service in my area because the sim works in my brother's phone and my brother stays with me.
** I can't decide if it's an hardware problem because sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Some facts about the phone (if it helps)
** The phone is rooted
** It uses a sim tray. The type that allows two micro-sims or one micro-sim and one sd-card.
** The phone gets hot when I use it extensively.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks guys.
