I've got an upgrade on 8/28 and I'm going to replace my iPhone 4s with the SG3, somebody at work told me he heard you can restore your iPhone backup in iTunes on your SG3 through Keis
I've googled and find little to no info...does anybody know how to do this or could point me in the right direction?
Thanks will be given liberally
check out an app called double twist. it may be what you are looking for

The other day i found the Galaxy s and dont use android cause i have a HD2 but was wondering if there is a way to reflash the phone so everything gets deleted off it, was gonna possibly give it to my brother or sell. I know Verizon uses CDMA as a band but is there anyway to use it for tmobile? Dont think so but someone might know more. Thanks!
first thing, but this is not a dev question, please post in the correct section next time to keep the dev section uncluttered
secondly, there is no way to get a VZ phone to work on tmobile. Two completely different network technologies. The ESN on the phone you found is probably blocked anyways
"Found" phone?
Might want to call Verizon with the IMEI and they can probably return it to its owner. Or the registered Google email address. Or...
5 Finger discount.. maybe be a decent person and call one of the saved numbers in the phone and try to find the owner.
Try booting into recovery and wiping the phone.

Hi all, I am a complete noob and have gotten myself into a big hole.
I was messing around with my galaxy s to root it and install roms, I followed all of the instructions but I think something went wrong in the back up process and had no esf file any where. Now I have a phone that is stuck in flight mode and have been using it as an iPod basically.
I did this about 6 months ago and can't really remember what I did. I don't mind sending it back to Sammy if I need too but would rather not have to pay if I can get away with it. I know messing around with IMEI numbers is highly illegal but any help would be greatly appreciated. If it is of any help to the situation, my gf has a galaxy s as well, don't know if this would be any good to get any files I need but at the same time I am scared to ruin her phone. I know I am an idiot and I promise I will never play around again.
Galaxy S or Galaxy S 4G (SGH-T959V)?
Ok, sooo I am new to the forum..not the tech savviest-BUT I have some questions about my new galaxy S3.
I got my phone Galaxy S3 from spring not too long ago. 1 month in dropped it in its face-completely shattered.-thankfully I had insurance.
NOW.. When I got the new phone it came back with a DEVICE ADMIN:com.sec.sprextension.phoneinfo.deviceAdminPhoneInfoReciever ..which has some pretty gnarly privileges- and thats an understatement-THIS **** LOOKS LIKE SPYWARE. I called my carrier and they said this is normal but I have a hunch that it is not, and anytime I meet someone with ans S3 I ask to look at their phone and they don't have it.
So on a mission to take control of my phone-I did root it, but again I'm not tech savvy so I don't really know what I can do with that..All I know is that I can NOT deactivate it even with the root. Can anyone shed some light on this??

I also have discovered the same thibg a while ago exept now it has taken conteol of my encryption possiblitlies and now I cant encrypt my device nor can I make certain screen locks like face detection for example
I'm a pretty sad panda now because I don't see any suitable replacement for the Photon Q. In typical work fashion virtually no one knew about the switch until they started trying to hand out iFail5 to people in the office....
I can get an S4 so I'd at least have a powerful phone but I strongly prefer the slider/physical keyboard. I've contemplated trying the SIM card mod to see what happens but it doesn't look like anyone has tried it yet, not sure if it'll even work.
Anyone have any other ideas? The option to buy something unlockable from another carrier may exist but what other choices are there? I don't recall any newer sliders than the Q so I would wind up with something older.
If I worded this badly, and I probably did, here's the TLDR version : Work switching from Sprint to T-Mobile, I luvs my Photon Q, gimme ideas for preferably keeping a physical keyboard.
T-Mobile unfortunately doesn't have any keyboard phones.
You should totally go for the Nexus 4 or HTC One (Google Edition), though.
I did like HTC's sense ui when I had the evo shift, the One does look like a rather well built phone. The nexus 4 doesn't really scream anything obviously beneficial to me. Sure you get the long upgrade future but when I can't even keep a phone for a year at this place it doesn't seem to matter....
So do you get to keep the Q or do you have to give it back? If you get to keep the Q, you might aswell try the simcard mod (I would, if I was you) and get a new phone in the process. If not, then personally I'd go for the htc one.

It isn't expected that they'll get any trade in value for it so I'll probably just quietly hold onto it. I know someone that wants to get away from their dumbphone family plan so maybe I'll just let them use it, otherwise I'll attempt the sim card mod FOR SCIENCE!

You could just take the crapPhone5 they're trying to hand out, and once MotoGoogle releases the X-Phone (rumored to go out August 1st on every carrier) you could go for that. I've read it'll have the same price point as the current Nexus. If you want I can hunt around for some links for things I've read about it.

I just dug through the boxes of the "ready to go" phones, there doesn't seem to be one for me in there so I guess I dodged this upgrade wave and will have some time to decide on the One or S4. I don't want to bother with waiting for Motorola's phone. Its looking pretty doubtful that they'll spend the $600 or more on a developer edition phone but it a quick check at both phone's forums sections reveals that rooting them and running cleaner roms is rather straightforward and certainly moving along.
EDIT: Whoops... apparently there was another hidden box containing the android phones, guess there is an S4 in there already set aside for me. I might as well give it a shot, I've seen someone else's S4 and the touchwiz interface feels rather cartoonish and kiddy, certainly going to change that.
And the story gets even better! The ones responsible for the switch complained about poor reception and being unable to receive calls at their homes last night.... so now everything is up in the air!
Hey guys, this may seem a little obscure but here goes. I've mostly used a jailbroken iphone since the first iteration of iphone back in 2007. I'm hoping to put the iphone down for good. Last year I used a S4 mini for a couple of months and liked it, however I ultimately went back to the iphone. That iphone has been acting up and my new Android phone should be here tomorrow morning. My question to you guys are, while this may seem weird, what would you suggest I do to make the phone behave similar to the iphone? I realize that I'm going to be out iMessage. That's unavoidable and not that big of a concern. I guess my next concern is, when I do have the device configured the way I like, how do I save or back up everything* should I need to pick up on another device and is this even possible? My main reason for finally switching is I'm sick of one company having me by the balls. My iCloud subscription expired and figured this is the best time to take this on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
