Capacitive Button Backlight - HTC Sensation

Hello,
I installed the rom ARHD. I have only one problem. The soft keys illuminate light in recovery but rarely in the rom .. I tried some programm .. and this script : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295537
Here is the file that controls the lights with root explorer..
/sys/devices/platform/leds-pm8058/leds/button-backlight/brightness
I open brightness and value is a 0 , i wrote 255, and i save and lights work .. I closed the screen and the buttons are still lighted. How closed with the screen and on again with the screen???

you should download LeeDroid Tweaks 4.3 (use the one by Jonny if youre on 3.33 firmware) theres an option in the tweaks to completely disable/enable the buttons and change them to your preference

I Have already leedroid the tweaks in my rom. The setting does not work. I also tried without and same result.

Help please..

Maybe try a different Rom to see if the problem still persists on a different Rom, if it does than its your device if the issue is resolved by flashing a different Rom, perhaps the issue was from that particular Rom. It wouldn't hurt to see. This way you know where the issue is coming from . Hope this helps and best of luck. Hopefully flashing a different Rom will solve the issue ... Best wishes

[Q] Sensation with Revolution HD Glitch, please help.

I am running Mike's Android Revolution HD based on HTC Sensation "non-XE" HTC base ROM and am experiencing a strange glitch. I would have posted this in the developers section but I have under 10 posts.
I have a Rooted S-OFF Sensation running this ROM and it works very well, exept for one thing. When my TMOUS Sensation's screen turns off, I normally can just hit the top button and the unlock screen comes right up, but sometimes, the lockscreen does not come up and I am forced to pull the battery on my phone. This happenes about once every couple of days. I have tried wiping and reflashing to no avail.
Please help.

Hi,
Which ROM are you running, and with which kernel?
Clean install, upgrade, what have you wiped before you started.
You need to provide some more information,so that you can get the correct help.
Info
Mike's Android Revolution HD based on HTC Sensation "non-XE" HTC base ROM 4.1.6, I have tried wiping using Mike's Superwipe and reflashing this version (Newest version) twice, same issue, I am running 2.6.35.14-Sensation-faux123-v0.2.3r+ Kernel and my radio version is 10.58.9035.00p_10.15.9035.02_2. I flashed the newest radio listed for this ROM, oddly, it is suposed to be 10.58.9035.00u, I use T-Mobile so that could be affecting it.

Hi,
Thank you.
There are known issues with that kernel.
I suggest you try the latest kernel, which you can find in my signature.
Go into recovery,
Wipe your cache partition and dalvik,
Flash the kernel,(exactly like a ROM)
reboot and enjoy.
Flashed newest Faux Kernel.
I flashed the new kernel, and I also flashed your battery mod, looks great btw
One last question, isnt my baseband suposed to be U and not P? why does it say P despite the fact I flashed the newest one for this ROM? and will it negatively affect performance?

Hi,
Glad you like the mod.
Those letters in the radio just refer to the carrier, and do not affect the performance in any way.
Thanks!
Awsome, I really really apprechiate it.
Thank you!
hey shenoka.. how is it?
I am really annoyed with this rom... I used it for my desire hd and never had a problem with it.. since I started using it on my sensation mike screwed it up massively... He is too stubborn to use the bricked kernel which rips on the faux rubbish that he is using now. I switched over to insertcoin because of this massive stuff up. So many people have complained about it and it took him this long to fix it if he hasn't already. The faux kernel is a joke and has always frozen up and have to be rebooted on me even especially in the morning when u expect the alarm to go off but the stupid faux kernel doesn't think it should go off.
And this same problem was happening for me on the de version so it definitely has to do with the kernel.
Anyways enough of my frustration has been let off about this rom. How is the new 0.2.5.2 kernel? Because I know that the 0.2.3r was rubbish for me and still did the stupid screen not turning on. I'm not going back to this rom until I am certain that the kernel won't do this same thing again.
Also has anyone noticed that with this rom u also have to sometimes fight to turn off the screen because it turns back on when u only click the power button once? Doesn't happen on insertcoin.

Why so much hate for 2 devs that are giving their wares away for FREE? There are numerous posts (today & yesterday even) on the development thread discussing how this happens, the fact that yes it is the faux kernel that has the bug, and how to install bricked if you wish.
Your frustration is understood. Isn't it nice to have so many choices of ROMs/kernels for your phone for free? I think these devs deserve more respect.

Touchscreen issues, sense related?

Fellow Sensation users,
I've got some problems with the touchscreen that is possibly related to sense?
I've posted this in the coindroid thread already, but nobody will reply to it, so I thought i'll make a thread.
Copy/past from my post in the CoinDroid thread:
Ok, yesterday I installed CoinDroid again. But i have the same problems:
-Sometimes screen wont turn on, then i have to pull the battery.
-Sometimes i cant unlock the screen with the ring, touch doesnt work anywhere on the screen.
I haven't installed many roms, but i've tested with other roms and the only stable ones for me is VI and HyperNonSense. I dont get the screen problems i've mentioned above with VI/HNS. So it's definitly not the screen that causes the problem! My idea: because both VI and HNS dont have sense on them, i think it's related to sense. Maybe some people bought a phone from a wrong batch?
Any ideas from other people? If I cant find a fix or something, I have to find a new phone...
Some details about my phone:
Sensation XE
HBOOT: 1.27.1100
radio: 11.22.3504.07_m
Some details about roms i've used:
Stock - problems
CoinDroid - problems
VI - no problems
HNS - no problems
Will update some more later, busy at work
I would suggest you install a stock ROM, And see if the problem is software or the hardware.
You can use this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849.

After flashing custom ROMs, device software isn't really the same as stock. Thus, although your device is identified as a Sensation, it is not on the default phone software. This causes problems (compatibility issues).. Unfortunately, this error cannot be fixed & in my opinion, cannot be fixed unless you go back to your stock software. On Sense 4.0 ROMs based on the Ville leaked RUU, I must say that you are actually using another phone's base. This is obvious to create problems.

I'm not really sure. Changing ROMs is the only solutions but nothing can be 100% perfect if you're using custom ROMs because there are a lot of inconsistencies.
try couple of fixes....delete the data of the app and then uninstall it ..then reinstall it again...if it still causing the issue
then go to recovery and do fix permissions..it takes some time...but helps a lot
EDIT: kgs1992 im afraid the solution you posting is too far fetched...these kind of things happen..when some permission issues happen..most of the times clearing data and fixing permissions in recovery will do ..also Elegancia is complete stock like..its bit themed that's all

[Q] wifi issues after installing custom roms

i seem to have come into a problem while installing custom ROMs. i have so far been successful in unlocking, rooting, changing CID and installing custom ROMs but my problem is when i do install a rom i find that my wifi doesnt connect it either says that its is searching for wifi or it just stays blank. i have installed so far for different roms, 2 where stable CM builds.
i have read a thread where someone had the same problem and a user here requested he tried different kernels, i have flashed 2 kernels and still no luck.
P.S wifi was working while it was on stock root.
i have an sensation XE and right have a CM10 nightly rom installed with a kernel belong to the same provider. i have no idea what to do next in order to resolve this.
I apologize in advance if a similar post has already been made but i wasnt able to find it after researching on different terms and checking the similar thread results that came up as soon as i posted this title.

Maybe RIL doesnt match (just an idea). Try with Getril from the store and see if it works.
or install the wifix manager.it helped a lot of people
S-On??
I don't know if yours is the same issue but I recently had problems with WiFi not switching on with custom ROMs.
I use Bruce's CM10 ROM and all was well with WiFi up to and including version 24/09. However versions after that gave me the WiFi problem.
Turns out that it was because I was still S-On and using ClockworkMod as my recovery tool.
I installed the 4ext recovery tool (which has a Smartflash default option for S-On users) from Google Play and, having restored to a ROM where WiFi worked, flashed my ROM of choice and now have no problem with WiFi at all.
I'm now running the latest CM10 ROM from Bruce, 3/10, and it's absolutely brilliant!
Hope this helps
Well first things first. Make sure that the kernel your using supports the operating system the rom uses. Sense rom only works with sense kernel and aosp rom only works with aosp kernels. Ics only works with Ics kernel and etc

Dugyc, I don't think that's the case with me.... Cause even with previous CM builds I couldn't get the wifi to work, back then I thought it was because the build was still fresh so bugs were definitely going to be there. Instead I just stuck myself with a root stock rom instead.

ICS or GB?
Before you rooted and flashed ROM to your Sensation, which version of Android were you using?
Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich?
ps. If you're not using 4ext as your recovery tool, I suggest you try it, it fixed my WiFi problem, which sounds very similar to yours, even though some Custom ROMs worked for me.

Wifi problem.

Hey guys, I couldn't find a thread about this so i decided to make one.
My htc sensation is S-off, running viper 3.0 I think, it keeps searching for wifi and after doing that for a couple of minutes it sais: error.
I've heard of some fixes but IDK where to start.
Does anyone have an idea to fix?
Flash the latest viperS update (3.1.0)
Sent from my Ouya
Click the HTC Sensation Help Thread in my sig and in the op theres a few links to possible wifi fixes. And yh latest ViperS rom is great and no wifi error. But urs might not be rom related so you could check out the fixes first and then if no luck, nandroid backup and try another rom then u will know if its rom or hardware related.
