Wifi problem. - HTC Sensation

Hey guys, I couldn't find a thread about this so i decided to make one.
My htc sensation is S-off, running viper 3.0 I think, it keeps searching for wifi and after doing that for a couple of minutes it sais: error.
I've heard of some fixes but IDK where to start.
Does anyone have an idea to fix?

Flash the latest viperS update (3.1.0)
Sent from my Ouya

Click the HTC Sensation Help Thread in my sig and in the op theres a few links to possible wifi fixes. And yh latest ViperS rom is great and no wifi error. But urs might not be rom related so you could check out the fixes first and then if no luck, nandroid backup and try another rom then u will know if its rom or hardware related.

[Q] Internet not working at please help!

My internet isn't working on my HTC Inspire. Specifically the browser. Facebook works. Gmail works, but as soon as I try to use the browser specifically www.google.com it gives me an error saying:
"access to this URL has been blocked."
I read some other threads saying that an unknown proxy may have installed itself but I have no idea if that actually happened or how to solve that problem. The instructions weren't very clear in the other threads, not that they were bad threads I just couldn't make sense of them
I'm running Leedroid HD GB 3.0.3
With Kerenel 2.6.35.13 Leedroid GB v3.0.3
and my base band is:
12.28b.60.14eU_26.03.02.26_M
Android version 2.3.3
Sense version 2.1
If anybody has had this issue, has seen someone with this issue etc. Please help me out. Because this tanks about half the functionality of my phone and I am not happy about it. Also do I need to flash my radio? That seems like it might solve the problem, but I didn't want to just jump on that without knowing if I needed to.

I don't know if the radio could cause that problem, however the radio version you're using is a little unusual and I don't recall anyone in the Inspire forum ever saying anything about using that version (I think version 03.02.26 is the original radio from HTC that came out with the Desire HD back in October). What do you think about flashing the latest official Inspire radio just for the heck of it? Almost everyone has been having very good results with it, and it's the recommended radio for a lot of custom Inspire-native ROMs now. The link is in my sig if you need it - it's the PD98IMG version that you flash from bootloader. Also, it wouldn't hurt to flash the matching RIL file...also in my sig. For the RIL, reboot into recovery, manually mount the /system partition then flash the RIL .zip file.
I had a similar problem with one of the ROMs i used...I got pi$$ed off and didnt know what was wrong...so I did the best thing I knew how to do...
Clear everything and reflash the ROM...

Recent Wifi Issues after flashing Xi40, 1.89

i posted this in the xi 40 thread .. would like to post here to see if similar case occurs,
After flashing xi40 1.89 rom, I am having awfull WiFi connection . WiFi will be connected but internet will just stop working. Had this phone fora month and never experienced any problems till I flashed this . Was on cleanrom before. And now funny part is after having bad WiFi here I decided to go back to cleanrom and now I get awfull WiFi there too.
So is it something with the new base 1.89?
Does this Rom flash kernal aswell? Then maybe it is a Kernal issue?
Can someone pls tell me which base or firmware had inbuilt WiFi issues?
i had flashed telus radio with ril before... was workign fine till this flash.. so i dont think its radio error? or is it?
thanks for your time

You need to reflash radio after a rom flash the ril gets deleted when you do as it is kept in system partition which is wiped by rom before it's flashed. I had the same issue I flashed the 1.89 radio and it got better.

[Q] wifi issues after installing custom roms

i seem to have come into a problem while installing custom ROMs. i have so far been successful in unlocking, rooting, changing CID and installing custom ROMs but my problem is when i do install a rom i find that my wifi doesnt connect it either says that its is searching for wifi or it just stays blank. i have installed so far for different roms, 2 where stable CM builds.
i have read a thread where someone had the same problem and a user here requested he tried different kernels, i have flashed 2 kernels and still no luck.
P.S wifi was working while it was on stock root.
i have an sensation XE and right have a CM10 nightly rom installed with a kernel belong to the same provider. i have no idea what to do next in order to resolve this.
I apologize in advance if a similar post has already been made but i wasnt able to find it after researching on different terms and checking the similar thread results that came up as soon as i posted this title.

Maybe RIL doesnt match (just an idea). Try with Getril from the store and see if it works.
or install the wifix manager.it helped a lot of people
S-On??
I don't know if yours is the same issue but I recently had problems with WiFi not switching on with custom ROMs.
I use Bruce's CM10 ROM and all was well with WiFi up to and including version 24/09. However versions after that gave me the WiFi problem.
Turns out that it was because I was still S-On and using ClockworkMod as my recovery tool.
I installed the 4ext recovery tool (which has a Smartflash default option for S-On users) from Google Play and, having restored to a ROM where WiFi worked, flashed my ROM of choice and now have no problem with WiFi at all.
I'm now running the latest CM10 ROM from Bruce, 3/10, and it's absolutely brilliant!
Hope this helps
Well first things first. Make sure that the kernel your using supports the operating system the rom uses. Sense rom only works with sense kernel and aosp rom only works with aosp kernels. Ics only works with Ics kernel and etc

Sorry kualmente, I'm not very familiar with the term RIL. I'm still rarely new to many terms around the rooting world. Sorry for being a noob at the moment

Dugyc, I don't think that's the case with me.... Cause even with previous CM builds I couldn't get the wifi to work, back then I thought it was because the build was still fresh so bugs were definitely going to be there. Instead I just stuck myself with a root stock rom instead.

Blahbl4hblah, I don't think that was the problem cause when I flashed the CM10 rom, I also flash the kernel for CM10 which was provided by the developer.
Provide a logcat to the developer then. Reporting an issue doesn't help you or anyone who may experience it without a logcat

If your device is s on, than you have to enable smart flash in recovery/tools

ICS or GB?
Before you rooted and flashed ROM to your Sensation, which version of Android were you using?
Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich?
ps. If you're not using 4ext as your recovery tool, I suggest you try it, it fixed my WiFi problem, which sounds very similar to yours, even though some Custom ROMs worked for me.

[Q] Darkforest Stuck At Beats Logo?

Hi
I've just tried to do a install of the Darkforest custom rom - version 6.1.0.
Im running Hboot 1.27.1111 and am S-OFF I'm using the clockworkmod recovery
I've installed the update.zip via clockworkmod and the rom seems to have installed okay - i've done the superwipe etc too - but now when i turn the phone on it starts to load upto the beats logo and then doesn't get past that point?
Anyone have any answers for me please?
The only answer I've got is: I have tried flashing it last week, had the same problem, couldn't solve it and used another ROM.
Every ROM works fine on my device, but Darkforest didn't.
install 4ext recovery and try to flash it again.see if it works
best wishes
Guys, please read maybe the last 4-6 pages on the thread. Known issue and I've only had a sensation for 4 days now (and 2 of them don't count because I've been at work or out) meaning I haven't had a chance to debug it yet. Latest stable version is 6.6.0

I actually have similar problems
Hello. Actually, I'm having very similar problems as you. In my case, after trying all combinations of custom ROMs (dark forest included) firmwares, etc, I'd found that I'm unable to boot ANY sense-based rom, even though they all successfully install without any issues. I then attempted to install aosp and aokp based roms and to my surprise, it worked flawlessly! I know for a fact it's not a software or installation issue because I repeated each attempt on my sister's Sensation 4g and it had zero problems my particular phone experienced. As of right now, I'm totally stumped as to why this is happening, but I guess I'm lucky that I could still function running Touchcream 2.1 or CM9. Please try more combinations of roms and fw to see if you're having similar problems. If you do, then there's a possibility that we're having hardware issues.

Many thanks

system glitches on 4.2.2 rom

Maybe I missed the post in the Dev thread... but I still have system glitches when I use Albinoman's 4.2.2 rom. By gliches I mean flashing system menus and or the things are not visible unless the screen is touched. I am performing a full format before i install the rom. I don't have a cat log for you
Did you try other ROMs to see whether or not the glitches persisted? If the glitches are still there then I would suspect it's a hardware issue (digitizer maybe?) But if the problem goes away, I don't really know what's going on. I would try another 4.2 jellybean ROM for the test. If it still persists, I would try an ruu to ultimately decide if some part of your hardware has malfunctions...
Sent from my HTC Sensation
Me too, Some ROm I've tried as SuperXE ROM 4.2.2, 4.2.2 ROM Albinoman, Swagger ROM, give me these flashing menus...
But, on PACMAN ROM, on Wizard ROM, on AVATAR ROM i have not.
Try another ROm You'll see if that's Hardware or Datas problems.
Me i don't know... Changing Kernel make no change:crying::crying: So i don't know where is the problem

The only other ROM I use is Bruce's 4.1.2. It is great, no errors or problems at all! I should be happy with it....but I am update junky.
The problem began when when the Dev made a kernel change a few months back. He immediately released a updated kernel. but it didn't work for me and all the updates I've tried has the issue persisting
If the kernel's the problem, I would recommend sultan's kernel to try it out.

Yea, I think you would have to flash sultan kernel every time you update the ROM. Unless there's a way someone else knows that I don't know...
