can anyone point me in the direction of the appropriate t-mobile ruu for the uk p.s i'm aware i need a gold card however my cidnum says t-mob and i am trying to flash a t-mobile ruu so it should work right ?
even with a gold card it doesnt work keeps saying 140 error not the right ruu.. basically i think my version main is too high to update as its 3.04.401.1... is there a ruu high enough on tmobile uk for me? please dont say i need to root it again then .. if so then i guess i'm stuck like this because i cant be bothered rooting again, just really wanna know if there a working ruu

Hi, do you mean the desirefanatics video? I've been through that procedure one week ago and had problems with the RUU. You can try to extract the rom.zip from the RUU and rename it to PG88IMG.zip, put it on your SD-card and boot into bootloader. The phone will find the zip and start the update!
Edit: Oh, and my phone is branded as well. If you find the rom.zip, look for a txt file called android-info. If your CID is in there, it should be fine to use without goldcard or whatever.

Stuck in HBOOT, no flashing possible (S-ON)

Hello Sagas ,
I got a problem with a Desire S: It only boots up to the HTC-Logo. If I'm right because of the output of fastboot getvar all the mistake was to flash RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.9_Radio_20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.... (I think it was this RUU because this is the only one with the exact main version) to this device because it hast a T-Mobile (DE) Branding.
The Bootloader shows up with

Then I tried to put the zip as PG88IMG.zip on sdcard.
Result in Bootloader: MAIN VERSION IS OLDER
Any tips for me?
Sorry if you get a little excited after seeing a reply in this thread but I would remove your serial number and IMEI from your first post as everyone can see this and I don't think you want some people to know it
I always thought it was a security risk but if it isn't then someone let me know

Done, for sure,thank you .
I'm really helpless, because not even someone tells me that the device is broken. Am I right with the idea that a RUU with the mentioned main version from T-Mobile (DE) can fix my problem?
SOLVED! I made a Goldcard with my Nexus One, flashed the rom.zip of the newest HTC Europe RUU over SD and... solved

I tried several S4 RUUs, european ones gave me error 131, Vodafone UK gave error 155 (the cellphone was bought in Italy).
What I did before executing the RUU exe(s) was just locking the bootloader. I think that probably installing ROMs in the time (the cellphone belongs to a friend of mine, so I don't know what was installed before) may have somewhat changed hboot (and/or radio) version, and now I can't find a RUU matching mine. Now i can only access the bootloader (I think the previous custom recovery is gone). I managed to access recovery by unlocking again the bootloader, but I can't mount any partition from the recovery (which is the main problem that lead me to decide to get back to stock.
What are my chances to return to HTC stock?
I have the same problem
Hi mate, I'm italian too. I suggest you to get S-Off (it's easy enough now with the brand new tools), change cid with fastboot command to HTC__001 and flash latest JB 4.1 european RUU. It's pretty easy

Hi sorry for new post but i tried to search some info but it didint helped me. So at first i installed viper s rome (old one 4.1.X ) then i tried to install cyogen 11, but i think i accidentaly pushed out usb cable when i was transfering rom.zip file.
So i tried to flash cyogen rom but it failed. Then i tried to restore from recovery. It was successful, but then i stucked in boot loop (recovery mode).
So how can i go back to stock?

You need your CID (Country ID), you can get it from the the boot screen:
Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
The CID is the 2nd line.
Write down the HBOOT and Radio versions too.

So no CID on the screen above this?
What is the carrier? You can use an RUU that is equal or newer than what you have.

OK so it seems that HTC__001 is HTC Europe. So you need any RUU that is same or newer with "HTC_Europe" in the RUU name.
So if you look here:
http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Ville
This one has the exact same radio.... hopefully this is it!

What happened? Did it give an error? Did you relock the bootloader first?

Phone won't boot up

HI Guys
So my mate's phone won't boot up and I'd really appreciate some assistance. The last thing I did was unlock the phone via htcdev. But that's all I could do. Now I can't flash a recovery (I've tried a few) because I get an IMAGE UPDATE ERROR. I've also received a "SIGNATURE VERIFY FAIL" error.
Also, adb won't recognise my device but fastboot does.
What I'm trying to do is install a custom rom because my mate was complaining that his phone was slow and a bit laggy. I sold the phone to him in the first place so I've taken it upon myself to fix it.
Thanks guys, let me know if you need any further info.
CJ
First of all, we need some information about your phone.
I need : what kind(k2u, k2ul and so on)
Then what you have already done.
Then the other things (best of all you copy all information from your boot loader)
Edit: okay skript point 2 xD

With regards to what I have already done, I tried to flash TWRP recovery but I got an image update error.
Mhh do you flash the right TWRP?
And use fastboot flash recovery *recovery name*?
Do you have any data's to loose?
Kreumadragon
yeah I flashed a few different TWRPs and none of them worked.. if there is a specific one and if you have a link, I could try again?
nope i don't need any data to lose. I have removed the sd card. Thanks again.
Anyone? Still having no luck with this phone.
Please test (if you want) the cwm recovery. Link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37075457
If this doesn't work flash a ruu and try again
Kreumadragon
There is no RUU out which will work and also the cwm is outdated.
How did you flash recovery?
Use the one i recommended in my index thread. This should work on your hboot.
An other option is to get s off and flash it via pl**img.zip isn't it?
Kreumadragon
You need a working OS for S-off. Not sure if that is working here.
@Old
You have s off, haven't you?
And I get s off with hboot 2.21
Kreumadragon
I don't have One SV anymore.
Rumrunner works on hboot 2.21.
He says that he didn't have data's to loose
theoretically you can create an ........IMG.zip file with all files a ruu use, only the recovery is changed? Think I can make one but first want to read what you think(old)
Kreumadragon
As long as he is S-on you don't need to make anything.
Right now he can only flash signed firmware by HTC this way.
Okay, thx I don't know
Actually no ruu for any kind of k2ul?
Kreumadragon
Only one. And you must be S-off or on ICS to use that.
@CJ_
Do you have test old.s method?
If this doesn't work, you probably need SOff.
Kreumadragon
Hi old.splatterhand, to answer your question, I flashed the latest TWRP recovery (2.8. something) but I got the following IMAGE UPDATE ERROR. Will try the ones in your index and report back.
Thanks for your help guys.
Will try it now... If that doesn't work, how do I get S-Off when I can't do anything with the phone?

HTC ONE S - S4 - S-ON - RUU help

Hi, I need some help going back to stock rom on my htc one s (s4).
I've read some places that I need an Ruu same as my version, this is my info.
Version main: 3.16.110.4

HBOOT - 2.13.0000
RADIO - 1.11.50.05.28

I tried the instructions on androidforums dot com, can't post the link here cus it's one of my first posts, but I typed in google "HTC one s ruu" and it was the first link.
But at the end it said something like "Can't flash this image, find the correct image" or something along those lines.
I used this ruu at the time because it was the only similar one (although not exact) to my phone.
RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.16.401.8_Radio_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301814_signed_2_4.exe
and yes I did lock my bootloader before running the ruu, but I unlocked it again just for use until I can find a working solution to going back to stock rom. (Btw i'm S-ON!)
Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated!
Do you know your CID? You can get this info in bootloader mode and use this command:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Please post all data except your IMEI number.
The RUU you used should work for almost any European countries as long as it's an non-carrier specific phone.

I guess you can't use this RUU for this phone. Try to find one for T-Mobile UK as it seems to be what your CID is telling.
