Check for yourself its different for every one but in general sense based ROMs such as clean ROM and such will give much better battery life than aosp based roms

Yeah but there are a few sense based roms, I don't have the patience to wipe and flash each and every one or deal with CWM backups. Just asking people who already have experience

Try CleanRom 4.5. I've been getting good results.

I don't see why you're flaming me for this. I don't have time to sit around all day. Backup all my data, flash a new rom, restore data. Play around for 2 days, test battery life. Then repeat x4 or however many times to find the best one. I like to stay on the same ROM for many weeks at least to avoid that. What's the problem with asking the community for people that have already tried a rom. So now, anyone else also looking for the same answer to my question can also find an answer. Now what's wrong with that again? Oh yeah asking a question, *smack forehead*. Stop trolling. Maybe if you've been around here as long as I have, you'd understand
Edit: Lol I saw you're signature, you don't even have a One X. True troll trolling a Q&A Section of another device

Cool bro

Yesterday i saw there is a update for htc one X, its a update to improve your battery life.
So wait till they integrate that battery fix in their one X roms.
P.s. the htc one x is now benchmarket with a better battery then the s3, or iphone 4s

Doesn't matter, everyone uses their phone differently so they have different results. Most people here get 4 hours or more with the screen on with cleanrom 4.5, I get up to 6 hours. Phone itself can last over 24 hours.
Why do you think it is surprising that this phone has good battery life?

Cleanrom 4.5 It get around 5 hours screen on time and thats after running the phone for around 16 hours, and there's still around 20% battery left.

You will get a bunch of different answers on this. Everyone will have an opinion on which rom has the best battery life. Your best bet would be to try a couple and see which one preforms best for her.
Oh awesome I didn't realize smokin had a rom for hox... gonna have to try this one out, thanks!

Hmmm... I'm on that ROM right now and am having battery issues. Was it like that as-is or did you further customize it within its settings?
Try the new R122 build.
And all I did was download CPU Master from the play store and underclocked to 912 MHz for most of the day.

You should probably send him over to the Endeavor forum to increase his choices. He can flash one of theirs and tell us how it worked out
That's not funny.
I'm not a newbie I came from a s2 skyrocket I'm just unfamiliar with this device and don't want to hard brick it

You don't want to stray out of this set of forums. International one x roms could easily brick your phone.

Sorry I could not resist. Back to being a good boy now.
Until we get the kernel source for the 4.0.4 I think sense 4.1 based roms are going to give the best performance and battery life. I do prefer aosp based roms but what is the point if you end up sacrificing all the things that aosp roms are supposed to give you just to get away from sense.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Yea I ended up going with aokp 4.0.4 and well after a day I actually missed some things from sense so went back to my backup
I think the reason I was skeptical of sense was because of touchwiz on my old skyrocket
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
What ROM did you decide on? I flashed pretty much all the available ROMs for our phone and found myself coming back to CleanROM 4.5. The CleanMODS definitely adds value and it's very good on battery too. Usually get about 16hours of moderate use and she's down to about 35% at the end of the day.
Also, Sense 4.0/4.1 is much better than any of the other OEM skins (TouchWIZ, Blurr, etc..) as it's the most intuitive of all the skins. Prefer it to AOSP Android now because it's just as snappy with so much functionality included. Ran AOSP ROMs on my old DZ because Sense 2.0, 2.1, 3.0, 3.5 were all crap and bloated; as soon as Sense 4.0 came out, it was like HTC finally got the message.
+1 for CleanRom.
Do your homework. The ScottsRoms CleanRom 4.5 DE had everything I wanted and nothing else to bog it down.
I'm also an APEX believer now for the fact that it restored my desktop after an upgrade.

The troll is heading back to his bridge!!

So I've received the HTC One S a few days ago (not the One X + because tmobile doesn't like nice phones) and I'm falling in love with it! So I guess this means goodbye, at least for a while. I'm sure this is good news for most lol. If it's any conciliation, the HTC one S development thread is horrible!! It has no personality what so ever and no one objects when others ask for ETAs which is something I've grown to genuinely love about this community Hopefully Bhundven and his team successfully port jelly bean (and have TV out working) but I'm sure a few weeks after, there'll be a mass migration back to ics in favor of a more "stable rom." lol Anywho good luck guys, the Samsung Galaxy S 4g will always be in my heart!

I've also been eyeing that phone... I think the One X is too big, and the One S is much closer to the size of the GS4G, which I like very much. I've also checked out the One S forums, but am still on the fence, especially since my phone works so well with these custom roms, I really don't have a great reason to upgrade, other than trying something new..
please report back how you like it (or send a PM if you don't want to clutter up the board here).

Yeah honestly I can't stress to you how awesome this phone is! The display is super bright, the resolution is also pretty good so don't worry about qhd complaints specially since you're coming from the S 4g display. The camera is professional quality and it preforms well day to day. If you don't like sense you can always install apex or a stock aokp ics rom but I happen to like sense personally specially the widgets and customizations. The rooting method, like for most htc phones, is significantly harder. There is another thing called S-off which has hindered development for the phone. There are still plenty of roms to play around with (including jelly bean!) but the installation is pretty tricky so for instance, you'll need to use a command prompt to flash something called a boot image to install any time and it's easy to brick. There are other new terms you'll need to learn of course. Don't let this scare you. One of the best things is the battery life (Both onscreen and stand by). The sheer performance is out of this world for example it can be over clocked to 2.1 mhz! Trust me when I say you won't regret having this phone! I've even heard from some it's better than the one X

if I do end up with a 1S, I'll be sure to offer up my GS4G here for development

I have used about every Rom avail on xda and another site. By far for me viperxl 3.2.by turge and kernel elementalx by flar2 is best sense based Rom and I am torn between nonsense roms. Jellybam was cool to play around. Great thing about roms is there is no 1 best Rom for every1, with so many its a personal choice. I know quite a few who think best Rom is a new one so it can be played with . Rom flashing addiction is growing at unstoppable pace....watchout ....

I've been really happy with mine as well. To be honest this is the longest I have ever owned a modern smartphone. My previous phones would last 6-8 months before I got bored.
As much as I want the One... I honestly wouldn't mind skipping a generation and hanging onto this until it dies.
With s off and development getting even better the one xl is pretty fun.
With my setup the battery life is very much improved! JB Sense roms rock.
I am thinking of changing the housing to the one x+ housing since mine is getting beat up. It's going to feel like a brand new phone

Yeah the all mighty Odin. Thanks to that program and kernels with injected cwm, flashing Roms was a blast. I probably will NEVER see an UNBRICKABLE MOD in future Samsung devices. IMO its the best phone in terms of hacking.
GPS was horrible on that phone, though. I couldn't get a lock that would stick for 6 seconds lol, whereas my One X didn't break a sweat. And I'm glad I took a chance with HTC. I was getting tired of the blue-ish white on s-amoled screen

Crespo is the name codename of Nexus S, Avatar is cool for costumisation but not that god with performance, search for HellyBean roms or Slim Bean roms, they have the best balance between features and performance (Helly Bean has some glitches that the creator will fix in 1-2 weeks, depending on how long his vacation is)

It's old by phone standards, but it's a good audio player compared to much newer ones, and because of google's suport of it untill 4.1 the roms that have later versions of JellyBean still work preety smooth. If you have money then buy a new phone but the man that started this thread vas asking us if it's still a good phone and it is, now if you compare it to the note 2, nexus 4 and phones like this well then it's not case it's 2 generations behind them, but it's still the best single core out there
