Does anyone have two way call recording working on the hox? Either on stock or custom Rom or kernels? I understand that there is a patch that was created for the international version but haven't seen anything on this end...
Supposedly the devs can cook a patch into the kernel that would fix the issue of only recording on one end, but again I haven't seen it for this version of the hox.

has anyone tried flashing MIUI yet? i was thinking about trying but was wondering if anyone else had any luck.
i searched this forum but no results.
Were all waiting for official source from HTC for the inspire 4G before we can do anything with AOSP based roms. It will happen..but not until after we get source cuz we need the driver for the sound/amp in the inspire.

I can tell you that I have done it and have call sound working but no other sound. I am still playing with it but like other poster says it's going to take inspire source.
Beautiful rom though. I've used it on other devices before and it's one of the cleanest out there.
Looking forward to having it on Inspire. Friend in UK that's a dev uses it on his Desire HD and won't use anything else.

i have never used it before but i wanted to try it very bad.
Isn't the inspire the same hardware as the Desire HD? That source is available.

No, the Inspire and the Telus Desire HD use a different sound/amp setup than the original Desire HD. So although most of the ROMs will flash on the Inspire you usually end up with no sound at all.
Miui is AOSP therefore you won't find a fix for sound, probally, until the source is released and I or someone can commit all the changes and keep sound in tact which shouldn't be too too hard.

if this gets miui, im upgrading from the aria immediately.
just flashed and didnt get passed boot screen haha
If you're using cwm 3.x you have to flash full wipe before install. It's easy to get everything working and have a useable phone but it won't ring and Jo audio. I put mine on vibrate. Ha!

Where's the miui thread? Can't find it.

Awesome find!!!

Haven't read the full changelog but I don't see it benefiting us at this point from the minimal I have seen. It has added video chat which we don't have a front facing camera for so not sure what all devs can do to use this for us thats different from 2.3.3.
Might be the fix I'm looking for! Even if phone has rear cam I do use it for video calls to show where I am, but all 2.3 roms don't let me see incoming video properly :/

Yeah, I know what you mean. This is going to be great for my tablet though. Dual core support and video chat

Hi guys,
Is call recording possible on HTC Sensation?
Could you test please:
- Totall Recall
- CallRecorder (DSoft)
and tell me about quality of recording from both sides?
Cheers

I'm also curious on this as call recording is essential to me and I own Total Recall on Symbian (Nokia E72) and would not move to an Android device that does not fully support it (or anything with similar features, but I know of no alternatives at the time).
Asking the developer would be a good idea, but then again, maybe some of you need to... erhm.... recall some calls...

I got callrecorder on dhd and works perfectly. But my dhd is rooted. Don't know if something change in functionality.
Call recorder widget works, but the recordings are pretty quiet.

Callrecorder requires root to fully function properly. This is one of several reasons I'm waiting for the Sensation to be totally opened up.
I have it on my rooted Samsung vibrant and it records perfectly. Mine isn't an app, it is located in the call screen while I am calling.

As I said, to function "properly" it needs root. It obviously functions without root, but not as fully intended.
Results...
Tried Already Total Recall & Call Recorder (DSoft)... (Perma-Temp Rooted HTC Sensation 4G)
Results:
Total Recall -> bit buggy and noisy when recording... (records via mic)
CallRecorder (DSoft) -> clear recording but via mic also... (so... not so loud the "other side" of the conversation)
Nothing even close to CallRecorder (skvalex) on my HTC Inspire 4G...
Nothing new here? any real recording solution?
up ..
this is an essential thing for me ..
anyone found a good recording app for the sensation ??
+ 1
I have tried so many call recording apps but to no avail
All of them are either "speakerphone enabled" or just not recording at all.
I hope after we root our phones we could use a real incall recording.
any news on call recorder now that we have s-off?
I found that when using the hand-free option (or even just the speaker for playing MP3), the sound is crappy. Not sure if related. Are you all happy with the big speaker of the Sensation ?

Nowhere near as loud as old samsungs or nokias i previously owned.
Anyone managed to port the 2-way call recording patch used on Desire HD? It worked flawlessly on DHD, it would be great to have it on Sensation.
No hope at all?
which apps should do it ? please give me 2 or 3 names, and I will test them this after noon. I have upgraded to latest everything ... maybe they will work now with all updates I have. The ones that used to bug or give crapy sound

There's only one posted by avs333, but it's for Desire HD (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048182&highlight=call+recording)
All other call recording apps failed to work or the recording quality was very poor.
It worked perfectly on DHD and i was hoping to see a patch for Sensation.

Please, tell me which ones. I will test them occasionally, and check for updates.
From market you can try Total Recall by Killer Mobile or AutoCallRecorder by Roman G. but these apps use the mic to record incoming voice, hence the quality is poor.
The only app that works properly is CallRecorder by Skvalex, but it requires a kernel patch (see app description on market), which brings me to my original question:
On Sensation, is it possible to patch the kernel to include the modifications required by this app?
Is is possible for desire s to have in-line recording? I have searched for the appropriate app for weeks.
I'm guesting that you mean two way recording?
I believe they this is only possible with custom kernels on custom rom, so therefore s-off devices
Although saying that unity 2 kernel (see thread in android development forum) was meant to enable this but I read that people were having problem doing it

Hello all,
I have seen that many custom ROMs boast built-in two way call recording.
I have Endymion v3.1 installed and would like to know how to record a call.
Anybody?

No problem, just download this software and, run, and give superuser permission
download
Works! Thanks.
But is there any way of not recording every call, but having a menu option when in call to record?
