thanks - if have been answered, please provide me the link, i will read up... thanks again

i think i may have found a solution : look at this thread, will be trying at home later
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745723

STUCK!!! - i've tried the steps but when phone boots into HBOOT it tries to read the PH06 zip file but its does not recognised the image and jump to bootloader and asked whether want to install the update or not... i can't get it to work.... im at a dead end....

There is no need to update HBOOT. Just skip that step and continue unlocking on htcdev site. That is what I did, and I beleive many others. I wrote this down several times, and this is the last one. It worked for me without issues, whatsoever.

ok - i am unsure which step you are talking about. Is it the first step where u have to use the RUU file from the htcdev site? before clicking to next step? i am stuck there , i dont know how to proceed....
so if skipping that step, i go into bootloader mode, choose fastboot ,and proceed with step 5 and so on?? is that rite???

Are u trying to unlock boot loader?
If yes just follow the simple steps on htcdev page
And if u r stuck some where please mention it clear lay where exactly u got stuck
And to root ur device get clockwirkmode for or device and flash supersu
Good luck

THANKS !!! i will do that and provide feedback.... i can't wait to have it rooted and flash custom roms...hahaah

Just to let everyone know i have successfully UNLOCK the bootloader , rooted and also flash CM9
the phone is much much much better.....
SITES i used to perform the steps:
1. htcdev.com ( if your RUU is not on the list, just skip this and proceed ) IT DOES WORK
2. To root and CWM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452173to
3. Flash CM9 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665828
mod: u may close the thread :0

Sorry to bump this old thread, but if I go to the step, where I have to write in the cmd of my windows, htc chacha is not recognized by my computer. I have installed htc sync! So basically the commad "cd \Android" doesnt do anything for me and I am stuck

Done. Just had to do the commands, without the chacha being actually recognized...

What the hell do i follow???

Ive been asking for instructions for rooting and s-off my phone but i cant find a guide ANYWHERE! the ones that say that are for stock ics and stock everything dont explain well enough! this is pissing me off.
can someone please tell me what to do? i want to s-off my phone, and get root and custom recovery so i can flash different roms. i am on stock ics. 1.27 hboot i guess. what guide should i follow? do i have to do the joupurnautbear? i dont know what to do! there is not a single noob friendly guide anywhere!
Juphonot
Juphonotbear it is, my friend. Might seem a bit advanced, but once you get the timing right, it is isea to get s-off. Once that is done, install a recovery and flash superuser.zip. Then you are rooted.

Hi,
There are several guides in my signature ( ☺ A great starting point for all new Sensation owners ☺ )
Okay i have tried that and it says
Juopunutbear Requirments:
* Be unlocked using the HTCdev bootloader unlock - http://htcdev.com/bootloader
* Be rooted (have superuser and/or an unsecured boot image installed)
* Have a spare microSD card, or to have backed up all contents of your SDcard, the card will be wiped
* Have fastboot and adb drivers installed and working (windows)
* Have usb debugging enabled
* Have a legth of insulated wire of sufficient length to join the contact points for your device (paperclip)
I tried the htcdev thing and i put my phone the sensation 4g and when i press the begin unlock bootloader it doesnt do anything at all. whats wrong?
and it also says you have to be rooted which i am not. i am trying to get rooted and flash custom recovery and get custom roms. i come from the mytouch 4g so its all different.
i downloaded this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668276 but i dont know what to do with it!

Hi,
I am not being funny, but in my first post here,I gave you a link to 5 guides.
You are going to have to start reading A LOT.
Familiarize yourself with all the processes involved.
If you go at this with guesswork and uncertainty ,you will almost certainly end up with a bricked device.

no no no...dont do that. Just run the RUU that i gave you for 1.85. That will get you a working non rooted phone. Then you can follow the root instructions for 1.85 that are posted here, then you can use superCID to unlock the bootloader.
EDIT: Sent you a PM too

Honestly its really simple. Download the file in the link i gave you. Run it in windows. Let it install. Connect your phone and follow the on screen instructions. This wont brick your phone if you follow the directions given to you when you run the exe file.

It gets your device in the relocked state and I think thats what most users don't want if they're still on waranty
to be honast I would rather a working phone than one with warrenty especially since its not worth the paper its written on

If he is on gb he doesnt need to unlock, he can straight s-off it and retain his warranty, the guide to do that totally works. Unlocking is totally unnecessary and is just going the extra road to s-off.
Your post is only if someone who has upgraded to official ics and wans to s-off, which is not possible as the person first needs to unlock.

Well then you could really just use the guide mentioned here.
But As long as a user is in the LOCKED state he should try to remain there...

[Q] unique case: ics problem

Hello everyone, I am writing because I have a problem (according to my inexperience) "unique", briefly explain the situation.
I unlocked (at this point I'm not even sure) my device via htc.dev and I was willing to install new rom including cyanogedmod.
A few days ago, trying to follow the guides on installing recovery and to switch to s-off my device in bootloader mode gave me the written abnormal.
To date, my situation is that found in the pictures found in the annex.
I tried to do a factory reset but it does, I tried again to reinstall the original ruu but gives me error 155 on sync.
The phone turns on, everything seems to work perfectly, however, does not take TIM, ie with the sim inserted I can not call them navigate.
I ask you the pleasure to help me solve the problem and fattibilie, the procedure "correct" the face that my case to install new rom.
I look forward to your feedback.
Thanks in advance.

You need to relock the bootloader to flash the ICS RUU
You need to lower your software version via misc_version and relock the bootloader to flash a GB RUU

How to relock my HTC Explorer bootloader?

Hi guys,
I have an HTC Explorer and I unlocked and rooted it few days back, later I got a strange problem that everytime I receive or make an outgoing call, my phone goes on loudspeaker automatically and anything I do, I can't make it stop. I factory reset it several times, reflashed stock ROM but nothing. Finally I decided to take it back to service center but since it's rooted, I tried to unroot it first and then relock the bootloader. I flashed back the stock recovery and then locked the bootloader but got some warnings while locking it.
Now it shows bootloader relocked but with some warnings in red color. I can't start my phone now as it goes in bootloader mode always, unlocking it again makes it work again so I am sure I am not doing something right.
Can you suggest me what I should do to make it lock properly and also if some suggestions related to loudspeaker problem, I will be really thankful.
Thanks.

Flashing an RUU is the only definitive way of *relocking* your device. And, as of why it shows *relocked* and not *locked*, I quote Rohan Pruthi (dunno if he's on XDA).
Because, its a virgin no more! no matter how much you try to show otherwise...

Thanks for your reply. I read this on so many places to flash RUU to solve this problem, unfortunately I am only have enough knowledge in Samsung area since I have S3 and never had to deal with HTC, so can you explain a bit more what's this RUU all about and where can I get it to flash on my friend's HTC?
If there are any links or something, that would be great. Thanks.

Reboot to bootloader and connect your phone to PC, and type
Code:
fastboot getvar all
and paste the output here... It will be easier for me to tell which RUU you'd need then...
Else, you can search for one yourself... Only thing that the Radio version and hboot should match...

I am not with that device now but thanks for the command, I will do that later. Hopefully I will be able to find one for my device, since it's exe file, I just need to run that once I get it downloaded?
