ROM - Inspired DHD AFR - now with improved audio

Borrowed from our friends in Europe, Americanized, with the Inspire Kernel (enabling sound) and install scripts swiped from Modaco, this is based on the latest Euro RUU, with no additions except busybox. Superuser market updates were clobbering things up, so install that from market and you should be good to go.
AFR003 is a clean, unbranded, deodexed ROM for the HTC Inspire (American DHD). It has the built in USB and WIFI tethering (no fee) capabilities, it's rooted with busybox. AFR003 includes an audio improvement hack engineered by Jasonyump.

Here is a rooted rom based on the stocker. Sideload toggle enabled, massive locale list and root/busybox installed. Stock Audio.

afr002 - updated to latest WWE (telus) firmware, with US locale default, retained EU locales and added English & French Canadian locations.

Hint: to start clockwork recovery and flash roms/add ons on the HTC Inspire/DHD:
place the zipfile to be flashed on the sdcard. Do NOT unzip it.
menu > settings > applications > uncheck fast boot
turn phone off, no usb connected
hold down vol-down button, then press power to start - keep holding the vol-down button until Hboot menu shows up
use the vol - down button to scroll down to recovery after sdfilechecks are done (they will fash by quickly)
press power to start recovery
use vol down button to navigate, power button to select
OPTIONAL: If recommended by rom author or if flashing over another rom type, wipe data/factory reset
install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > select zipfile > Yes - (name of zipfile)
repeat choose zip from sdcard for any add ons (gapps, themes, kernels, etc)
press back button when flashing is complete until reboot system now is at the top of the screen.
press power to reboot the system.
If desired, return the fast boot setting to on in settings. (See above)

Yes, it's the lastest in unbranded roms, with Sense 2.0 and Android 2.2.1.

Cool, thanks - how do we flash this? I'm coming from a Samsung and used to using Odin, etc. Do we just rename to "update.zip" and install that way? Thanks.

I take it I have to be rooted first, I'm ok with doing this but can someone point in the direction of how to do so?

EDIT: I went outside and my GPS connected, it was just me being paranoid
I am not for sure if it is this ROM, I am paranoid, or there is something wrong with my phone, but I have had my GPS on for the past 30 minutes and it cannot find any sattelites. I am inside a building and I know that could have an affect but I would think after 30 minutes it would find something.

Are there instructions out there on how to install this ROM (which I presume basically debrands it, removing the AT&T preinstalled garbage and enabling tethering/hotspot) on a 100% stock, unrooted Inspire that a complete and total n00b to Android development can follow without bricking his phone? All this is new to me and some instructions for an idiot like myself would be extremely helpful. Thanks.

Look for the kit, it has the instructions, just a word of warning though, it isn't for the faint of heart

[ROM] 25-04-11 Gambaro ROM V0.2 for P10AN01 tablets (Vega, Viewpad 10s, Mobii, ...)

Small update, still working on this ROM.

Would like to use one of these overclock kernels, but I get different issues with them when applying to a stock ROM. So for now I have to stick to the CorvusKernel 0.1

Unzip it to a folder.
Switch off your tablet
Connect USB cable to PC
Boot into NVidia recovery by pressing back button 2 seconds, while holding back button press power button for 2 seconds, while still holding back button release the power button, then release the back button after 2 more seconds
Start lvds.bat and the ROM will be flashed.
If you get problems with the USB drivers or have other difficulties, check ”Advent Vega ? ROMs / Software Updates / Guides / How Tos, Links to ROMs, Flash Updates, Guides, Misc apk’s” on MoDaCo. There you find help for nearly every possible problem.

Sorry, flash with CWM is not possible yet. I do not like the stock ROM method as well, but still trying to figure out how to move to CWM flashable ZIP file version.
At the moment, I end always up with a bootloop.
Positive with this version is that with one flash you get the ROM and CWM and BSOD and Kernel installed.

Did some tests in the last hour. Found a small bug with connecting to AdHoc Wifi. And tested flashing through CWM. Seems to work now. Next update will be flashable thru CWM.

Not yet. Kernel supports it but I don't know what to change in the ROM to get it working. Maybe I have to ask Corvus, he has it in his last ROM.

I didn't update my Vega, I bought a Viewpad 10s with 3G in Hong Kong.
Now I have a spare Vega with WiFi only on sale.

V0.2 is up.

Tried this rom yestaday and it very good.its fast and stable.only problem i had was google maps wasnt finding my location through wifi.i have a advent vega and it doesnt have gps but on corvus 0.5 and cm7, google maps finds my location.any ideas?

Did you enable location by WiFi in the settings?
To be honest, I did not try this function yet, as I use my HTC Desire with GPS to set my location.
Will try to find the problem and how to fix it. Seems to be a problem with stock ROMs.

[ROM][S3] BackToBasics_v3 (based on RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.11.401.110)

So here we go I can say finally I managed to produce firs custom rom for our beloved HTC One S C2 (I called it this way cause that is how on gsmarena.net is presented). If we ever get a sub forum this is how I suggest it is called. It is not very special rom, but it is a start. cause I don't like bloatware on my phone, I've tried to remove as many unnecessary stuff as I could remember, and I could miss.
Since this is my very first rom I've build with kitchen (for public use at least), don't be to harsh on me. I will try to improve it, and remove even more sens components, cause I just prefer stock experience.
You will need android sdk on you computer (you may know it as adb shell)
REQUIREMENTS
Unlocked Bootloader and Root access
TWRP Recovery
INSTALLATION
1. Download the ROM, extract only boot.img where you have android-sdk installed installed in folder platform-tools
2. Make a backup of your apps with Titanium backup or other similar app (so that you can restore them after flashing my rom)
3. Boot into Recovery (with GooManager, or restart phone and hold volume down, when in fastboot choose recovery with volume down and press power button)
4. Make a BACKUP in recovery!
5. WIPE! Do a factory reset and System wipe
6. "install zip from sdcard"
7. "choose zip from sdcard"
8. Flash the ROM
9. Go back to the main menu of recovery, choos reboot, and then reboot to bootloader.
10. Flash kernel with Command prompt (go into direcotry where you have extracted boot.img) and run:

Short version:

fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
11. Wait until android boots up, it will take a few mintues (5-10), because it is deodexed, but only first boot takes longer after that it is normal.
What is working:
Since this is sense based rom all the functionality should work (calling, texting, mobile data, GPS, wifi, bluetooth, camera, etc)
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS:
- There might be some reports of some services stop executing, this is nothing to worry about, it would just be something that I have removed cause it is only sens based and drains battery, but it should impact with phone experience.
- Due to all HTC widgets removal, not all the lockscreen options are functional (like people).
FUTURE:
I hope I'll have time and the will to make this rom to look and feel almost as an AOSP based (that is with statusbar, lockscreen, dialer, settings, etc). But I am still learning so don't expect to much. If there is themer among you or modder, I would really apperaciate some help with this stuff. Together we can make this something ! I would also need some mirror if this rom will become popular.

This rom is for HTC One S with S3 processor only!!!
Flashing any kind of custom rom voids your warranty, and it could brick your phone. I am not responsible if this happens to you. So you flash this software completely at your own risk!

Alright , I found a solution for wifi obtaining IP address problem .
This is just a temp way to do it .
go to ur specific wifi , long press it . Click show show advance option . and choose static IP . Key in the data .
It connect successful . qzem , try to find what is the problem for cant obtaining ip automatically . It would be quite suffer when wanna use public wifi

1) Can't save picture after took picture using camera app .
2) superusers got problem , can't get permission for the apps .
3 ) wifi cant get ip address automatically . ( have to manual set up static ip )

[Q] I need professional opinion on malware

Hello to everyone,
I'm currently using Fallout Evolution V5.0.0 ROM for about a week now and after installing an antivirus app and scanning my phone I found out that the "People" app (containing the phone app in it) has a malware trojan in it.
The only way to secure this is to disable the app, but if I do that I can't use my phone to call people.

My advice? Install cm11 from devil kin. It's based on latest android which has many security enhancements. And don't use Antivirus on. It's 100% safe.

Hi VnnAmed,
I was trying to flash this CM11 ROM but without any luck so far, therefore I switched to Fallout v5 once again.
Could you advise if there is any special technique that needs to be done when flashing to CM11, as these steps did not work.
1) Update HBoot to latest version
2) Remove the HBoot file from the SD Card
3) Clean everything as per the HBoot instructions
4) Flash CM11 (cm-11-20140606-UNOFFICIAL-saga)
5) Flash GAPPS for CM11
6) In FASTBOOT run (over USB cable) fastboot flash boot boot.img (using the boot.img from the .zip file)
7) Restart
(?) x nothing happens for some time, my phone restarted to the Recovery screen

What recovery version are you using?
Do you know which panel type you have?

To download Themes and Songs remember to have simcard inserted and not to be in "Flight Mode":Those apps need to access your IMEI number to finalize autentication..
EMUmI is PREROOTED but there isn't the Supersu apk,all apps needing root will work well,i suggest to install SuperSu(from market) only if you need to manage apps permissions..
The rom is FULLY ODEXED (more stable&fast)....so is not reccomended using Titanium or similar app to remove and then restore apps:It will remove the related libs from system but it will not restore them...so i suggest to use it only if you know what you are doing..(to reinstall an app you need to extract the libs from his .apk and copy them to system/lib again.....)..however you can restore "Only data" of apps without problems.
Many Google related apps are not present(tts,search...)first of all to gain space,second because they are often updated....if you need them you can download from Market without problem..
How To Enable On Screen Soft Buttons:modify this line in build.prop:

Yes you can:mine is a modded version of it.....

Thanks a lot for this rom guys, I've just installed it using CWM Recovery and so far it's working fine haven't had any problems :good:

Can you share some pros/cons compared with stock 3.05?

Rom is multilingual?

Does this ROM supports double tap to wake ? Are there ang chance that photos are better?

I've only been using it for 30 minuets
the camera seems slightly better although i haven't tested it in the dark yet
i haven't had any random reboots
headphones work fine
I haven't found anything wrong with it yet

Did have you try enabling DTS sound?

I am also interested in the "double tap to wake" or so called "knock code".

I think it could be inplemented(lib files are included in system)i'll try....
