Got the 4500mah from Ebay.... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

It was $10 with free shipping so I thought it was worth a shot... I received it about 2 days ago and I cannot tell the difference between the stock battery..
This sucks!
So yes, obviously I didn't expect it to be 4500 mah for $10 but I thought it will be at least 3200 or 3000. It is not.
I just want to warn others before they buy it and to hear other peoples experiences if there are any.

If you want a decent extended battery, buy the Hyperion.
I have that batt and the matching honeycomb case you can get with it and I love it.
I never have to worry about battery life anymore (even running stuff like iheart radio or Sirius online which both totally kill battery life)
I even like the feel/weight of the phone with it installed. When I bought it, I figured I would only use it occasionally. Now that I am used to using it, I never take it off the phone. The phone with the standard battery and my awesome rock quicksand case feels way too thin to me now (something I never thought I would say)

thanks morton....
I will try to see if I can return this battery.
I looked at amazon for the battery you recommended. I found it but I also found another battery: (I can't post a link)
It's called QCell and it is rated at 4200.
Any thoughts on this one?
The one you recommended is more popular but this one has NFC and it also has much more reviews.

Another thing to consider is the separate cradle battery charger that comes with a 2100 battery. This way there is always a battery on charge for a quick swap.

Weigh it. At the most basic, the amount of active material in a battery determines its overall capacity. A 4500mAh battery should be significantly heavier (roughly double) than the stock battery.

Another vote here for the Hyperion 4000 mAh battery. Very happy with it!!!
:good:

Think I'll wait a bit to see if anyone brings out a slim 2800 to 3300 battery with a matching back.

I find this to be the easiest for me. I hate extra bulk, so I just have multiple standard batteries ready on tap.

Innocell 3300mAh Extended Life Battery (no longer 3000mah)(pics update, Review later)

Just received the battery from mobilecityonline.com. Ordered Tuesday came on Saturday $60 shipped. Here are some pic's will do a review when I can test it. Any question's please ask.
Initial impression:
The battery itself is bigger than the China 3500mah, The back cover doesn't fit over the sedeio battery. The plastic is thinner than the china back cover but thicker than the oem samsung back cover, not able to stand it up on it's side. The case it difficult to put on, but fits very well. It's gonna suck when my phone locks up and i have to pull the battery.

Just order one came out to about $60 the don't charge tax at least in California. Still have my cheapo ebay 3500mah battery but it still doesn't last me the day. Will post review when i Get it.
Hrm....so then what about those of us that bought the 3000 mAh Innocell? I'm wondering if this battery is actually 300 mAh bigger or if they just changed the rating on the battery. I'd like to get my extra 300 mAh, especially as much as the 3000 mAh cost.

According to androidcentral.com it is a different battery.
http://androidforums.com/epic-4g-accessories/244950-review-seidio-3000mah-extended-life-battery.html
Customer79: Hi Kevin,
Customer79: I have a Samsung Epic 4G phone.
Kevin: hi
Customer79: I see that you have a 3000 mAh and a 3300 mAh battery for this phone. Is this indeed the case or is it a mis-type of some kind?
Kevin: we have updated the 3000 to 3300
Customer79: If I bought the 3000 last week, is it a 3000 or is it in reality a 3300?
Kevin: 3000mAh is 3000mAh
Kevin: the new version is 3300mAh
Customer79: I think I read something somewhere that suggested that the 3000 was originally intended to be a 3300, but was de-rated to correspond better with real-life use. Is this the case? Could I get performance approaching 3300 with my recently purchased 3000 battery?
Kevin: no that is not possible
Customer79: OK. I sure wish I knew the 3300 was coming up before I ordered the extended 3000 batteries for my 2 household phones.
So...I guess the 3300 is a 3300. I think we all have to accept that technology is constantly changing with these phones. You got to hop in when you can and expect things to constantly upgrade and change. Clearly, my battery situation is much better with this 3000 mAh battery. My daily life no longer revolves around find a place to plug in my phone. Is 300 mAh really going to change your day? Not really.
Yea it's not a huge deal to me, at least not enough to go through the process of exchanging my battery. Just wish they would have made some mention of the 3300 coming so I could have just waited. Of course they wouldn't do that, because then no one would buy their 3000's and they'd have a bunch of leftover stock.
Would love to see a test between the 3300 mah and the cheapo 3500 mah batteries. Any chance that you would feel like running a test like that???

I planning too when i get the sedio battery.
While I haven't ran a methodical test but I know my Innocell 3000 mAh definitely lasts longer (or so it seems, placebo effect?) than my generic 3000 mAh. Of course, if the Seidio is actually 3000 mAh, then that should be right since the generic 3000 mAh is just two 1200 mAh batteries wired together.

Seidio extended batteries are usually around 82% of rated capacity.
That would put the Seidio 3000mah at around 2460 mah.
That is why I would love to see a test between the two that reduces all variables to make it as fair as possible. Something like putting the phone in airplane mode with brightness and volume maxxed, setting the phone to play a movie file repeatedly until it turns off and measuring the time.

The only way to test the "battery life" is to see how many charge and discharge cycles you can get. You need a tester circuit that accelerates this process or you will be doing this for a long time. Alternatively you can do a discharge test and so long as you use the same circuit you can then make some intelligent guesstimates in comparing the batteries.
The problem with mfgs are that they don't use the same parameters in testing. Thus two identical batteries can be rated at different capacities.
The short answer: Buy a high quality battery and forget the BS.

I hear that, Hopefully the sedio preforms well. I am starting to realize it makes more sense carrying an extra oem battery then having a cheapo extended one, due to the size it adds.

Same here, the only downside is the thickness the battery adds to the phone. I HAVE to use my extended battery at work since I'm nowhere near a charger, listen to my music all day and paint in a dungeon so there is a lot of crap that could possibly get inside my phone when switching batteries but on the weekends I rock the regular battery.

For me, the only disadvantage to the thickness is not being able to use a case. I don't mind the thickness at all (I was a former Treo lover LOL), but it bugs me not having a case on the back half of my phone.

2 stock batteries together

Hi, after reading the post that says the majority of batteries in ebay are crap (less than 80% of the mah indicated) i've been thinking of do it by myself and put together 2 stock batteries (or 2 armani batteries) which will give to me 3000 real mah or 3300 real mah, anyone has done it? (is it possible?)
Will I find a back case with the double battery thickness?
sorry for my english.
Thanks in advance.
how about trying the 2700 battery?
I have the momax battery and it is excellent. But I have always wondered if you join 2 or even 3 stock batteries together would it be safe and usable, I don't know enough about batteries to risk doing this, but if anyone has any knowledge please share.
I've ordered a 3000mah battery from a website that sells upgrade batteries for a variety of devices, it comes with an extended cover. free shipping all over the world, dunno if I am allowed to post it here but pm me if you want the address

NOPE Try momax nice design
Get the 2700mAh battery from momax. It's a good battery and comes with a nice back cover and slip case.
I would caution against meddling with batteries unless you really know what you are doing. An exploding battery is not fun.
I bought a 3500mAh battery from ebay, and so far so good. I'm not sure if its really 3500, but it seems to last pretty long. At the end of a day, I usually used to have about 30% left on my original battery, but on this baby, I still have at least 50-60% left. That's pretty good.
Assuming the battery readings are correct, that would put the ebay battery at twice the capacity ( 3000 mAh ), not 3500mAh. But for so little money, who cares ?
I use the 5A PortaPow USB rechargeable battery. Plug it in and it recharges the phone, or plug it in and use it while using the phone.
Saves any case mods. Still got a sleek galaxy S , and a little baggie with a 5A battery in when needed. It's about the same size as an iPod classic, and means I can GPS for hours and hours when out and about. 2 and a bit hours and it's flat on a 1.5A stock battery.
So with a PortaPow and a stock battery I've got 6.5A to resource.
ok, now i have a stock 1500mah, armani 1650mah, and the momax 2700mah (all the things are very cheap so.. jeje).
the momax 2700 is fine, i'm not really sure that this is real 2700mah but the case is nice.
I was interested in this cause if i can put together 2 1650 they will bring me real 3300mah that maybe is the best battery life you can get for this phone.
the 3500mah in reality it is two 1200mah batteries together, (you can find more info in this forum).
So, if they can put together 1200mah why not the 1650mah?.
I have tried the space in the momax case, and the 1500+1650 batterys doesnt fit, only for 1 millimeter (or less) but doesnt fit.

For normal batteries yes it would work, just. You don't get double the life though because the batteries would discharge each other while sitting idle.
However it doesn't work with Lithium batteries such as the ones in phones. These are not simple batteries, but rather lithium cells, a small amount of circuitry and an extra third terminal to talk to the phone's battery management chip. Over discharging, or over charging lithium batteries can cause explosions and the electronics protect against that. Because of these you can't simply hook them up in parallel, you need a battery with physically more cells (higher mAh number.)
Thanks garbz, well explained
so.. i will keep in my phone the momax and forget this thread xD

Yes, there is a 1650mAh battery made for Giorgio Armani Galaxy S (which is known to be compatible with standard Galaxy S). Thats as high as you can go without adding extra bulk. You might find batteries rated even higher on eBay, but those are fake values.
Or you know... you could just use the two batteries sequentially, not blow up your phone, and not have a cinder block back case.

what rom are you on when you have 5 days duration ?
It's great if you want your battery to last days without charge but terrible if you want a nice sleak phone due to the fact that the 3200amh batteries add extra thickness to the phone which really makes it look ugly in my opinion. Mugen power batteries are really good though they are expensive. I'd be weary about buying from eBay because although they may be cheaper, a lot of the times they're not the capacity stated and have bad quality lithium ions that simply don't hold a charge!
Can I buy it in Ukraine? Somebody know?
I have a 3000mAh battery, but the only way I can get a full charge is with an external charger.
Then I can get between 3-4days from 1 charge.
Charging the 3000mAh in my phone, doesn't seem to last any longer than a standard battery.

[Q] Anybody bought Extended Slim Battery 1980 mAh

Hello Everybody
I am looking to buying the following battery
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-G2X-Opti...ccessories&hash=item2eb6f543db#ht_2178wt_1270
I don't want to sacrifice the sleek look of my mobile phone by buying 1350 mAh or 1450 mAh huge batteries.
Anybody bought these kind of batteries already ?
Do you find noticeable difference in run-time ?
That's the one I saw on ebay.
The thing I notice that the slim batteries that are larger in capacity than the stock batteries are more in price than the larger capacity and fatter batteries with a bigger back cover.
I wonder what is that???
I going to order next payday to try it out.
If you get it before I do. Let me know how it worked out for you.

I do not think this is going to be any better than stock battery. Better to go with the fat one. You will at least get 2000 to 2200 mAh out of those for $10.
I have had that Andida battery for a couple of months now. Never any problems with it, and I would say I probably get somewhere between 30 minutes-2 hours extra charge over the stock battery, depending on what kind of usage, obviously. It feels noticeably thicker/denser than the stock battery. It fits inside with the normal cover, but you can tell it's a tighter fit. I also charge it sometimes on the spare port of my desk dock, and it's a tighter fit there, as well. And a bit heavier.
I won't make any claims of whether it's actuallyt 1980 or not...but it's a good battery...at least mine has been good to me. Nothing "night and day" that you're gonna convert religions over, but if you're looking for a second battery anyway, it's definitely worth it.
Generally, it's seemed like people with the Andida 1980 mAh battery have gotten an extra hour or two more over the OEM.
Buy it from here instead, only $9.
http://www.obostore.com/1980mah-andida-spare-battery-for-lg-optimus-2x-p-1305.html
Thanks for posting that obostore link...when I clicked the OP's ebay link, I was pretty sure I didn't pay anything near $29, but it's been a while and I"ve bought so many things, I couldn't remember...but it didn't feel right.
$9 from obostore sounds about right...I've bought about 6 cases and other stuff from them, so they are legit. It does take about 2-3 weeks to reach your door from the time you order, since it comes from Hong Kong.

Good and working Battery Extended? Any Suggestions?

Hi Guys,
i got my S4 9505 from 1 month and i very very happy with it..also for good battery life, but we have removable battery and maybe there is some battery better than original..
I looking for a battery with the original size dimension but more big than the original..but above all really big.. not only write on it.. but it must to be really extended..
if someone use some battery extended with original size and is certain that is extended can give me information about your battery life, screen on time and link for buy it?
Thanks
No suggestions?
Please note it is not physically possible to accommodate more capacity into the battery for the same size, if that was possible I guess samsung would had done that for us. However why not purchase extra charger and battery case made by samsung.
But I do see Mugen doing a change by providing 2750mAh battery of same size. Check here at amazon.
Or you might have to get large extended battery and find the best the chose from.
I think battery up to 3500 mAh on ebay can suited the original back cover (according to seller description). Many of those selling these batteries on ebay, but I still haven't try one. Maybe later I'll try.

Ps. Thanks guys for your replys :good:
I had a Zero Lemon slim extended battery on my SGS3. It was 2400mah vs the stock 2100. It was pretty good, giving an extra 30-45 minutes or so extra screen time and another 90-120 minutes of run time. If you find you're just cutting it close at the end of the day and you can't charge mid-day, it's worth the $20 for a pair of them plus a charger. You can get them on Amazon too. I haven't bought the S4 versions yet but I plan to - my wife and I can each get a little more battery life for a total of $20 that way.
You lose NFC, though. that's probably why they have a higher capacity - no NFC antenna. If you use that feature, or S-Beam or whatever, skip the Zero Lemons.

Hi guys,
nobody have tryed this battery http://www.ebay.it/itm/ZeroLemon-2x...hone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item19e14ab68c&_uhb=1 on GS4?
I'd like to know if is good battery, if is not dangerous and if is true extendend..
thanks
I ended up with a Hyperion because it would fit the Seidio Extended (and it did perfectly). I was not at all impressed with the reviews on teh 3000mah ZeroLemon because it seems like it was thicker than the stock battery and put a bit of a bulge on the battery door. I was afraid it would not fit cases properly so I skipped it.

i researched a lot on zerolemon ...
their product is good and is as stated no scams !!
i couldnt buy it coz they were charging $19.99 + $17(shipping) and i bought the original samsung battery kit for $32 where i live .....
but i had researched a lot on the company before making the decision towards them.... only regret is samsung gave me 1 battery + charger 1.7mAh .... zerolemon was giving 2 batteries + chrager 600mAh.... so i basically traded only battery for a charger that charges a battery in 1hr and 30mins 0% --> 100% .....
so whats the best rate for getting a good 12 to 14 hour outta your batt
