backup before new ROM - HTC Sensation

Hi, I have HTC Sensation XE with Elegancia Rom blitz 2.5 with sense 3.6.
I'm thinking about changing to Rom with Sense 4, will titanium backup save my settings, apps etc...?

Yes but is always wise to do a nandroid back up also. You can do that in 4ext recovery. Just incase something goes wrong with the flash, you can then recover whole rom. I also use Titinium backup to restore my apps+data. It works like a charm! Once you flash your Rom , simply go to play store and install titinium backup and you can restore everything you backed up to it. It's very straight forward to use. Hope this helps and happy flashing!

Go Backup and Apps2Zip are other options too that look to make the backup and restore process a little more automated. They will back up text messages and contacts too.
Its more or less a preference of which app you like using between the 3

Yea I'm doing the backup from recovery as well, it's a backup to the apps and settings or just my current rom and system files?

The nandroid backup has EVERYTHING included apps, settings, system, everything!
It's a exact copy of what you have had. Hope this helps.

Ok, so I forgot to do a Nandroid backup and want my original ROM back. What now?

I tried custom Roms for the first time, and they totally ruined it for me. My touchscreen is kinda not as responsive as it used to be, both with insert coin and Revolution Rom.
So now I want my original Rom back. I only did a Titanium Backup. Since my phone was a branded one, I have no chance of getting the same ROM back, do I? I still have the 2.3.4. OTA update from my carrier though, but not previous versions.
Go to s off guide. Scroll down. read about flashing ruu

Bro I read your guide thoroughly. Problem is, I don't have the original ROM from my provider so I could flash it. Yes I can flah the european RUU but it will not be the same as from Swisscom (my prvodier). Installing the custom roms wiped my phone partition so no restore.
Or am I missing something here?
Edit: Ok nevermind, I just figured I actually did a clockwork backup image when I was doing the steps in your guide. So I hope restoring to that image will fix it for me. Thx for the hint though. And nice gudie btw, keep on the good work!
Clockwork back up is nandroid lol

PLEASEEEE try this rom before you revert back to stock, try out P3D Neon 4.1.
Best ROM I have used! I have tried leedroids, insertcoin's, and 3 other roms and this one has to be the best one.
If you're not into a ROM with eye-candy and such then nevermind, but it's the smoothest ROM IMO, has good battery life too.
I'm very much into eyecandy Well I might give it a shot...
You getting paid for advertising it or what
What is the file name of the OTA you have?

Back up rom

What the simplest way to back up the Rom that's on my sensation before I flash it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
I think you mean to say back up the old ROM before flashing a new one?
You perform a NANDROID backup. For this, you need to go to recovery, and select the backup option.
If the Sense version & Android versions of both ROMs is the same, wipe Cache +Dalvik from recovery before flashing the new ROM. If you want to revert back, Wipe Cache + Dalvik from recovery again and then flash the Old ROM.
Yes a nandroid back up is what I'm referring too.so I go into recovery select back up option to back up the old Rom.what do you mean by if sense version and the Android version of the Rom is the same? How do I know if the 2 are the same?you said to wipe cache& dalvik from recovery before flashing the new Rom.and if there not the same then what do I do?would you please explain.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
What I meant to say was that if the Android software version (for example 2.3.4 (Ginger Bread) or 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) ) & the HTC Sense software version (for example Sense 3.5, Sense 3.6, Sense 4.0) are same for the old ROM that was installed and the new ROM that you want to install, it is sufficient to wipe Cache + Dalvik.
If they are not the same, then you need to format all partitions except SD Card.
To wipe Cache + Dalvik or to Format all partitions:
Switch off your phone.
Remove and re-insert the phone battery.
Press Vol down + Power key to boot to bootloader.
Select Recover.
Choose the option Format | Wipe
Select the action you need to perform.
I'm running a sense Rom right now but I'm going to install a non-sense Rom that why I need to know the difference between a sense and a android version is a Android version a Rom without sense?I don't know how to determine if there the same because if they are I just wipecache & dalvik.what about if there not the same then what do I wipe or do?

If you go to Settings > About phone > Software Information , you can find android version and sense version information is available there.
If you are switch to a Senseless ROM, format all partitions.

Backed up roms.

Is it trie inorder for me to be able to see my backed roms they need to be restored first then I will be able to see them.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
I didn't understand that. Rephrase?
Lol you're a bit confused there mate. You need to read up on all of this not make thread after thread of the this.
Yes you need to clarify your answer, it doesn't really make sense.
From what you asked, you make a nandroid backup file, then when you want to see your backup, boot into recovery and go into restore/backup. Then restore again and you'll see it.
Like other members have said on your threads you should start using the thanks button

complete transfer of ALL data possible?

Hi all,
I have just been given a Sensation XE with ICS on it and would like to transfer all of my data inc apps from my old sensation to the XE, could anyone point me in the direction of an app that is capable of this? android or windows!
The only apps I can find will back up contacts and messages, I would like to basically clone the phones data and stick it on my new on.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Kind Regards
Paul
Try titanium backup available on Google Play...
Most of the data is stored on the SD card (kindle app for example) so you might be able to transfer app content etc like that...

I suggest moving apps over to the SD-Card, then install the apps via Play Store on your new device and do the same (App to SD)... Copy the files over from the SD-Card to the new device's SD- Card. Make sure to copy folders with '.' at the start of them...
Make a backup with your recovery manager and restore it on the new phone. This requires root and a custom recovery, if you need a tut just search.
Oh and flash a new kernel, I recommend Bricked.

You can log those in titanium backup.. Either as xml or another format
If you are unable to find it then... You can use super backup from play store
