Backed up roms. - HTC Sensation

Is it trie inorder for me to be able to see my backed roms they need to be restored first then I will be able to see them.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA

I didn't understand that. Rephrase?

Lol you're a bit confused there mate. You need to read up on all of this not make thread after thread of the this.
Yes you need to clarify your answer, it doesn't really make sense.
From what you asked, you make a nandroid backup file, then when you want to see your backup, boot into recovery and go into restore/backup. Then restore again and you'll see it.
Like other members have said on your threads you should start using the thanks button

Few questions about rooting

Hi...
I want to delete some apps like stocks...and i know i need to be rooted for it...
But when i trien temp-root with free3vo...deleted some apps and they were never deleted...
I dont want to perma root cz i think then i wont be able to get updates from htc...
I dont want anything more then rooting cz i love sense and thats why i actually bought sensation...
But now my phone is getting slower and i think deleting stock apps will solve it...
Is there anything just like one click root or i have to wait for unlock bootloader...
And i dont even have drivers for my sensation on my pc...so if someone can provide it...ill so thankful...its not downloading from htc site.
Thanks..

Temp root with fr3vo will not let you permanently delete apps. They will just return upon reboot because they weren't really deleted in the first place. Trust me when I say that htc is not rushing to get updates out to us. Or any of their phones for that matter. People are on their Facebook page everyday pleading for updates. Devs are way more eager so your best bet would be to flash a custom rom because then you are guaranteed an update to the newest android. You can't root without unlocking your bootloader. You can do this at revolutionary.io. The instructions are at the top of the development thread. Along with the drivers. Just because you root doesn't mean that you can't have sense. We actually don't have a real "no-sense" aosp rom yet. Go ahead. Free your phone from htc's grip. Then you can delete at your heart's will.
Okk...so you mean i would have to s-off i think...and which is the best custom rom according to you with sense...and can i revert back to stock rom if i want??
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
Yes s-off is the best option. The best you can do is do some research. Read the 1st post of the rom's thread and find out which suits you best.
Thanks...
But will i be able to revert back to original??

Once you have cwm you can backup your original rom. If for some reason you want back to original rom, you can restore it with cwm.
Thanks...but as i am a nood...
I tried s-off with revolutionary but it showed me sofe error communication with phone is intrrepted unepectdly try again later...so i couldnt s-off n cant even find some help on it..
So i thought the other way...first flashing the 1.45 on my phone then getting bootloader unlocked with the htcdev...
So guys can you plz guide me to most easiest and simplest guide to flash it...

New to Android here. Does CWM backup the original ROM in it's "pure" state, i.e. factory fresh? Or does it backup the ROM based on your phone's current state.
I'm coming from an iPhone, where the iOS files were easily accessible and I never made back-ups. I have so many questions about Android modding. This forum is filled with information, but has my head spinning.

Try reading the stickies on top of the development boards. Following directions also helps. I was able to s-off in one click, I don't see why you're having so much trouble.

I would surmise that its a backup of the phones current state. I was still s-offed after I restored my phone to my stock backup after a botched adb push.
Take it a day at a time, took me about a week to get up to speed on this thing. Learning how to use adb and knowing a few basic commands will make your life easier.

It is indeed a backup of the current state. You will be s-off as long as you don't take an update or change your bootloader. Your bootloader is not included in a backup as it is not necessary.

Ok, so I forgot to do a Nandroid backup and want my original ROM back. What now?

I tried custom Roms for the first time, and they totally ruined it for me. My touchscreen is kinda not as responsive as it used to be, both with insert coin and Revolution Rom.
So now I want my original Rom back. I only did a Titanium Backup. Since my phone was a branded one, I have no chance of getting the same ROM back, do I? I still have the 2.3.4. OTA update from my carrier though, but not previous versions.
Go to s off guide. Scroll down. read about flashing ruu

Bro I read your guide thoroughly. Problem is, I don't have the original ROM from my provider so I could flash it. Yes I can flah the european RUU but it will not be the same as from Swisscom (my prvodier). Installing the custom roms wiped my phone partition so no restore.
Or am I missing something here?
Edit: Ok nevermind, I just figured I actually did a clockwork backup image when I was doing the steps in your guide. So I hope restoring to that image will fix it for me. Thx for the hint though. And nice gudie btw, keep on the good work!
Clockwork back up is nandroid lol

PLEASEEEE try this rom before you revert back to stock, try out P3D Neon 4.1.
Best ROM I have used! I have tried leedroids, insertcoin's, and 3 other roms and this one has to be the best one.
If you're not into a ROM with eye-candy and such then nevermind, but it's the smoothest ROM IMO, has good battery life too.
I'm very much into eyecandy Well I might give it a shot...
You getting paid for advertising it or what
What is the file name of the OTA you have?

any solution plx help me

We need more info. You probably flashed something that wasent compatible with your current rom. Take out the battery and hold the volume down with the power button at the same time. Hopefully you made a backup, just restore it. If not flash a rom zip you have on your sd card.
If you just flashed a new radio or something like that, try firstly wiping the Dalvik cache and cache partition from your recovery. Then reboot.

That's only if you're on a CM rom. If he downloaded a bad file for the radio then flashed it, brick city!
Bro I am always first one to understand noobs. So here we go
First, when you have a problem like this and aren't sure what your doing, then come read the stickies. See where to ask your questions but mostly to see if there is a thread stickied that already has a solution For you. Most of the time you will find that some one has already had your problem. If not, then your sure to understand where to ask after reading through the stickies
A lot of people may not even help until this is moved to the rite section. Just a friendly heads up before some ass comes and acts rude as hell

Is your sensation rooted?
I had the same issue when I installed a different radio. I installed the previous radio and it booted fine.
Have you done a battery pull?

[Q] anybody got android 4.01 roms?

Hello. I'm semi-bricked so I cannot use android 4.03 roms. They just don't work for me. I loved arhd 5.01 because I thought it would be awful but it isn't. It has epic speech recognition problems though, it just says unfortunately voice search has stopped. It says this for each of the voice needed applications. Does anybody have any other 4.01 roms? Preferably sense but I don't mind
You could try hypernonsense, so smooth, fast and stable.
Is it android 4.01 or gingerbread
Please stop flashing your phone until you know what you are doing. I would think after all of the trouble you had previously after flashing firmware being stuck with s on and your phone being in an unusable state you would have stopped messing with it.
Go back to stock and leave it alone. You are eventually gonna brick it. You need to do a lot of reading so you are not asking for help all day, everyday.

It's an ICS rom (4.03). Full wipe is needed.

You know what you are doing, this user clearly doesn't. I am not being an ass, I flash my phone also but I read a lot. I read these forums thoroughly before doing anything. It's getting tiresome reading all of the problems people have all because they don't read.

Well im sorry but i dont want to start any arguements. I know exactly what i'm doing and why i am doing it. Android 4.01 roms are the only ones that work for me, yes i did make a fatal mistake but after much reading ( yes i did) i know what's happening
I'm furthermore 'sorry' if i have angered you experienced users but i have not really asked for help with my phone for a while now and i dont intend to. I wasn't posting this to be annoying, I just needed help finding android 4.01 roms and incase anybody else needed them.

Yes I flashed it. I think you should :
1. Flash 3.32 fw
2. Wipe data/ factory reset
3. Wipe cache partition
4. Wipe davlink cache
5.Flash virtuous 4.0.0
6. Reboot
Then if it work you can flash addons, kernels

backup before new ROM

Hi, I have HTC Sensation XE with Elegancia Rom blitz 2.5 with sense 3.6.
I'm thinking about changing to Rom with Sense 4, will titanium backup save my settings, apps etc...?
Yes but is always wise to do a nandroid back up also. You can do that in 4ext recovery. Just incase something goes wrong with the flash, you can then recover whole rom. I also use Titinium backup to restore my apps+data. It works like a charm! Once you flash your Rom , simply go to play store and install titinium backup and you can restore everything you backed up to it. It's very straight forward to use. Hope this helps and happy flashing!

Go Backup and Apps2Zip are other options too that look to make the backup and restore process a little more automated. They will back up text messages and contacts too.
Its more or less a preference of which app you like using between the 3
Sent from a rebel ship by storing the message in an R2 unit. (Help me, XDA. You're my only hope)
Yea I'm doing the backup from recovery as well, it's a backup to the apps and settings or just my current rom and system files?
The nandroid backup has EVERYTHING included apps, settings, system, everything!
It's a exact copy of what you have had. Hope this helps.

I decided to stay with my current rom, Sucks I wiped before backup. Could save me lot of time. Thanks anyway guys, that was realy helpful.
