Overclock skyrocket? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hello guys and gals,
I am rooted and running sky ics.
I have downloaded setcpu and I notice my Max freq is only 1.5GHz
I changed min freq since I don't and never have liked any CPU down clocking.
But as far as overclocking, am I limited to 1500mhz? Or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks guys

And I'm guessing overclocking is the same as PC overclocking?
For example maybe for me I can only hit 1.7ghz and others might be fine at 1.9ghz?
Or am I pretty much going to be OK at 1.9ghz?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2

Every device has different hardware someone can run 1.9 great and you'll get crushes, you can only know if you try. Technically 1.9 should be fine.

Just as a test I'm running 1.7 and no problems thus far. Scared to try 1.9 lol.
EDIT I tried 1.83ghz and no go. Phone rebooted

Check in the kernel thread there are script for setting OC and volts, the guy talked about certain voltage for 1.83 that worked great maybe you could try it.

First of all you can edit your posts so don't double post, second here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29456487&postcount=376
next time use the search function.
In his posts he links to his OC and other scripts original post.

so it looks like 1832MHz won't go, it almost did, but it probably needs MOAR volts.
1782 is running stability test right now and seems to be fine. I didn't need a stability test to tell me that, since I ran 1730 or something all day without a problem.
Just testing for the heck of it.
Oh yeah and I'm using the scripts. Thanks for the link man.

this is a great rom, been running it for a week or two. Very stable. 1.2a imo isnt what 1.1/2 was (clocks gone for whatever reason, not as stable) but nonetheless its very good.
love the rom so far but my cpu has been running near max speed when idle. is anyone else experiencing this?

I've been using opensensation for a while now and I've tried using the latest TAMCORE kernel but whenever I open chrome it becomes molasses. When I switch down to version .38 the slow down goes away. Does anyone one else experience this? Just trying to see if it is something on my end.

I have had nothing but problems with Tamcore on AOKP with my configuration, I think its more of a problem on my end than it is on his kernel. But I switched to CM9 and am running the stock kernel with no problems. My dad on the other hand can run AOKP with Tamcore fine, I don't know what the difference is. I've never tried open sensation so I can't vouch for that. What gov. are you using?
Ohh and BTW, if a mod doesn't get this thread moved soon, your going to get a new one ripped by all the 12 year old 'devs' who will yell at you because this is the Dev section, if they were a real dev they'd politley tell you "wrong section, try to post in the Q&A forum first, but heres the problem.." After doing so, they'll most likely refer you to their donate button in their signature in case one of their 13 posts have helped you or someone else.
- Just a heads up.

No problem man. I wish I could help more.
If you think it's a bug in my kernel (however, I don't have a device with this problem), create an entry in my bugtracker and provide real infos (every other report would get ignored and closed). Currently you tell us nothing about your settings.

I don't think my particular problems are with your kernel but I think they are from my configuration. Like I said, my dad runs your kernel just fine but whatever I must do with system kill must cause problems with your kernel. I should have been more specific before I said "I have nothing but problems with TamCore" because at one point TamCore was the only kernel I ran because it was so smooth and had no issues whatsoever, its definitely more of a problem on my end, not yours.
Maybe. But the OP is just asking. He could get more help if he would tell us a bit about his settings.

Not sure why no one said it yet, but thanks. I reinstalled CM10.1 (latest nightly of course) and tried this out. Like you say, 1700 is the max (but I always used 1700 as the max anyway since 1800 just killed the battery). Good to have an o/c gfx. Are you intending to do any more with this? The ability to alter voltages was the main reason I used the clemsyn kernel on CROMI. Also, any chance of a future data2sd/fsync support?
Anyway, once again thanks for your work, and thanks for sharing it too. If you'd like a tester for anything else let me know. Going to try sticking with CM 10.1 for a bit, seems to be getting almost ready for daily use (barring some 2minor" bugs).

Hi !
If you post kernel source code , I could take a look to see , why you can not able to OC up to 1.8GHz !
Yes, I am going to add features. I want to get fsync control running, add row scheduler and undervolting. And I will try to improve overclocking. As this is my first custom kernel for android, it will take some time to look into everything.

Also, it may be just my tf700t, but if you switch from balanced to performance mode with this kernel, it slows down tremendously.

Think of it as the "settings" app for the kernel. It allows you to configure or change the values (e.g. cpu/voltage..etc) at runtime. Unless you build an app, you can use std. shell scripts to change the value and run the script at boot time so it says persistent during reboots..

test driving it..will release over the weekend..
I usually undervolt everything 25-50, underclock to the min on both cpus and overclock them to about 1.7 ghz, always leave sammy governors, and usb fast charge is the ****. Idk how much it really affects my battery life as I haven't had the time to do real comparisons, but I'll get 30 hours with about 4.5 hours of screen time.
I'm running a frankenbuilt, rwc stockbased rom over top of 3.5 and am getting killer sleep stats as well as smoother/faster ui performance, which is exceptional given the dirty config my test rom has atm. Props, bud.
