Official 2.3.6 update gives me

Better reception with the modem. A better WiFi signal and fixes my grainy hd camera issues i had with the unofficial 2.3.5.
Now, anyone know if I can root this heffer?

is that confirmed? doesn't make sense why 2.2 would work.

2.2 lags and force closes when i try to root. I am so confused. Also, when i put my phone in development mode. I do not see the droid in the notification bar. Does anyone know what is up with that?

For what it is worth, mine shows TWLauncher version 2.3.6

i updated today and rooted my phone with SuperOneClickv2.2 give it a little time it took longer then it did before but it got the job done

the phone is so much more smoother now and lot of the lag is gone. but thats gingerbread for u its a much better os than froyo. i loved the phone before but love it a lot more now. this is what android needs to from there phones to show how much faster they are than iphones and keep them UPDATED thats a big thing.

[Q&A][ROM] MIUI Infuse Edition [ROM]

This is for general questions about the latest MIUI

Thanks boost for the update i did lose recovery and did the sgs kernel flash trick and it didnt work. i went in to a knarly boot loop and had to reflash. I am currently trying it again i wonder if i got the right kernel or i did something else wrong do u have to fix permissions? Any tips would be greatly appreciated Thanks to you and jordan for all you have done.

Im sure i used the right kernel. I just flashed your miui ics that same night when i had the issue, things are working good sorry for an unnessasary post appreciate it. I am so pleased with the ICS Miui thanks to you and jordan.

The ICS has the Ice Cream Sandwich framework. Yes, the link you posted is to the ICS version. I am also doing the MIUI from where jordan left off. 1.11.25 is the latest on i am posting today. http://tinyurl.com/bp3ghy7

my sceen was waking....but i downloaded a theme off MIUI forum and now it will not. kind of a bummer. great to know if there is a solution.

Custom Ringtones
I have looked through every Miui SAMSUNG Infuse thread I could find, and couldn't find my answer. Has anyone else had any problems with custom ringtones, it seems that I can't get any ringtone other than the standard ringtones to actually apply when the phone is receiving a call except for the standard ringtones loaded with Miui

I recommend a fresh flash. Seems like your the only one so far who has that problem

Actually I had that problem once. I think it had to do with the apps I had to create ringtones. I had more than one app & For some reason i think my ph. Was having a problem with trying to read from more than one app.

Try puting the ringtones in /data there should be a media folder or something....i too have this problem but havent looked into it....i think i read that somewhere tho

Found a way to fix it, just reflash, but make sure you replace the ringtones with your own as (musicname).ogg in the ringtone folder somewhere on the zip :3 then just rezip it all, and you're good

Try getting the data working with manual APN settings? Also, CM7 for this phone has a strange issue where call audio doesn't work unless GPS is on. Those issues identical being MIUI is a build of CM7, or is it something unique with this rom?

Yes tried doing that but the ROM would not hold the APN and the GPS trick doesnt seem to work.

Hmm.. Strange. Is this port from the same device the CM7 port is from? Think it working there and not here would help narrow down what's causing it?

This is a port using the miui from HTC Desire HD and the cm7 from the Tmobile SGS2

If this is the rom from the T-Mobile thread it frigging flies. Can't wait to see some progress on it

[Q] Haptic / Softkeys stopped working

I have a major issue, my softkeys randomly desided to stop working. No matter what I do or what rom I flash (im currently on stock) they will not work nor will they light up. Does anyone have any answers for this? Please help.

I don't know if this might help, but seeing has how you've not had much luck so far... besides you've probably already tried this... but hey.
I had a Motorola V9x and for no apparent reason, all the keys on it stopped working... except the power... anyway, I brought it up to a full charge than took the battery out for about 3 days.. when I replaced the battery, the phone worked again... still don't know what caused the problem. BTW, before that last 3day battery pull, I had tried for increasingly long intervals where the keys would show some signs of life.

If you are rooted, try a 3e recovery, here is the thread on how to do it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446566 Follow the directions to the letter, it can't hurt to try this.

That sucks because they already refused to warranty it

I recently have this issue with the softkey as well.
just started to happen yesterday. It would randomly not work and I have to pull battery and it works again after that. Was on the SkyICS rom since Dec and no issues. Just recently popped up.

sorry about that jbats. Been busy... adb works if you tap about in settings a few times to get developer options. I ran some logcats and found some issues. I am working on them now. will hopefully have a new build by the end of the day with some fixes in it.. thanks for the help and logcats are our friend...

so, I just ran a new build with the new configuration they are using in the skyrocket and hercules forums... Good news it ran a complete build with no errors.. bad news... won't even boot... back to the drawing board the see what I missed...

Hey racing I've been asked by people of rocket and herc to help out I think I can solve data issue so if u can link me to ur repos where u have anything booting I'll give it a shot this week and get you data or at least signal if its not working

I talked to him yesterday and he said its still not booting. Jeffakajeff said he was going to give it a shot as well today when he gets a chance. First we've got to get it to boot.

Running a new build with a different configuration right now.. will post the outcome. Ran a build with my old settings last night and that boots and runs but android.com.phone fc's all the time and can't get anywhere without removing phone.apk. remove phone.apk and rom runs smooth. wifi works but no data or much of anything else.

As an off-topic question would any of you devs know if there is a compile flag to enable tasks/notes in Exchange Services or some way to enable it? Best answer I have found searching this is that the phones that do support it only have it because it was provided as a feature by HTC/Motorola.
