Help with root and recovery - Acer Iconia A700 and A510

I have been an Acer A500 user for a while. Rooted, Recovery and multiple roms/kernels.
Just got a A510. Tried the AIO tool. Unlocked bootloader fine, but would not root.
I download the cwm recovery and flashed it, but now recovery seems to be toast. I get a dead droid with an exclamation point above it.
Anyway to get recovery back and get root.

[Q] cannot boot into recovery after flashing JB

My goal today was to go from firmware .26 to JB. First I installed NVflash to be safe. I also had Rootkeeper running to preserve root. After installing NVflash I flashed firmware file .30 from the ASUS site on my external SD card. All went well but I lost root and was not able to get it back with Rootkeeper. With firmware .30 I was able to boot into stock recovery OK. I had TWRP recovery on the .26 firmware. Anyway I flashed JB with the update from ASUS website on my external SD card as I did earlier with .30. The problem now is that I cannot get into recovery. When I attempt to get into recovery the furthest it goes is to the green android figure laying on it's back with a black exclamation on a red triangle. There is nothing else on the screen. After about 5 minutes the tablet boots up on it's own or will boot right away if I hold the power button down. I need to get into recovery so I can root again. I would appreciate any assistance. Sorry for the long post and I hope it's not too confusing. Thanks

[Q] a700 will not go on boot menu or recovery mode after root

Hello guys sorry about this I'm new to all this. Okay so I unlocked the boot loader and rooted my tablet successfully . I installed cwm and I updated to 6.0.3.1 because it said there was a new update. But when I try to boot my tablet in to recovery mode or boot menu it says entering recovery kernel image but just stays there . I am not able to go on fastboot boot menu recovery mode anything . I am able to use the tablet normally tho but I am not able to go on recovery mode. Did I do somethingwrong or what should i do? I would appreciate some help. Thanks
Re :
Hello,
Did you find a solution ? I have exactly the same problem. My A700 is stuck on this message : "entering recovery kernel image".
I've tried to reinstall Recovery with CMW but the problem is the same !
I hope you have a solution for me

Well, I am going to guess, if you can't do a fastboot flash recovery xxxxxxx.img, and it says successful, but you can't boot immediately to recovery, then more than likely the recovery partition is damaged. And unfortunately, there is little you can do for it except mainboard replacement.
You can try fastbooting a stock recovery image (you can find them here in the forums, just search "stock recovery". Should be ICS and JB available.
If that don't work, Acer Service Center. Acer won't give us the SBK (secure bootloader key) to be able to use NVFlash to diagnose/possibly repair partitions.
I would always advise to NOT USE the Rom Manager app to do a recovery. Reason, you really have 0 idea what it is installing, or who made it.

[Q] Major Recovery Issues. Try this solution.

I cannot boot into recovery. I used a rootkit to unlock my bootloader and root my phone. TWRP worked fine when i tried it out for the first time and than i forgot about it. Today I tried to access it and it would not work. When I try installing TWRP from GooManager it just says it will download but it never does and then after a while the app shuts down. I tried flashing clockwork mod recovery from Rom Manager and it downloads all the way and than says that a problem occured. Can somebody please help me with my situation. When I press the power button and the volume down button and it brings me to the bootloader and i navigate to recovery, it just brings an android guy with a red triangle. please help me. I just want a custom recovery. I don't care what it is. Either TWRP or clockwork mod.
UPDATE: I figured out I lost root access so I rooted again and I now an successfully rooted but I still do not have a recovery. I tried to boot into the stock recovery but it will not work. It just shows a red triangle. So than I got TWRP Manager and tried to install TWRP from there but it still will not work.
UPDATE: I got Rom Manager and I looked in it and it said that I still had TWRP when I really had no recovery. So than I saw the option to get ClockWork Mod Recovery. I clicked on it and it installed successfully! So if you are having this same problem. Good luck to you. I hope what I did works for you.

Glad you got it sorted. For future reference, that android guy with the exclamation is stock recovery. You have to press vol up and power to get the menu to come up.

[Q] Cant access recovery mode

I have a mb886 and got a app called flashify (I am rooted of course), when I flashed the recovery to cwm I couldn't access recovery and was stuck on a android with exclamation on him. So I restored the stock but that didn't fix it. Is there anyway to get cwm or the stock to work?

the dead android should be stock recovery. you usually need to push a couple buttons to get past that into the actual stock recovery. search your devices forum for the method if you don't know how.

Need help with boot loop

I had this droid razr maxx hd a long time ago. I used to be pretty savvy with rooting and whatnot. At one point i rooted the phone enabled native tether and even unlocked the bootloader. however I never flashed a custom recovery. suddenly one day the phone started boot looping. I simply switched phones. now my new phone is broken and i need to get this boot loop fixed. trying to do a recovery simply ends up with it trying to boot again and loop. sometimes it shows the robot with "no command" under it. so thats not possible.
when i select ap fastboot i get device is unlocked status code 3.
So i should be able to flash something to it and get out of this bootloop right? can someone point me to a noob friendly tutorial to try and fix this?
if any more info is needed let me know
Thanks!

Just download the drivers for this device and install them. Then download and install rsd lite and install that. Then download the the stock firmware make sure it is the right one and flash it with rsd lite after that you will have to reroot the device. If you don't know what version of firmware you had just post a pic of your device while in ap fastboot bootloader and I can let you know.

Random question. is there any way to retrieve photos from the internal storage of this device with it stuck in a boot loop?

If you had a custom recovery that you could mount while in recovery. Have you tried adb.
