So I have a weird issue with my buddies p6210, it won't boot as shown in the video. It won't boot at all without being hooked up to the charger. When it is hooked up to the charger it does what it is doing in the video, I only hit the button once it was hard to hit because I have the back off. Also when going into recovery I was holding the volume button the whole time. I've also let it sit for about 30 min with the battery disconnected. Any ideas?

I think If it still with warranty you better take the shot. It does look like hardware fault. It could be a defective cable or charger but it is not very likely.

That's what I was thinking, looks like we will be RMAing. Thanks for the input.

Hi
I returned home from holiday the other day to my TF101 and I can't turn it on. The keyboard charges no problem, but I'm not sure what the problem is with the screen. The power button is unresponsive, and I'm not sure if it charges when it's plugged in.
Any suggestions? Our shall I send it Asus for repair?
It is not rooted, and had the official ics update.

Tried a hard reboot ?
Hold power button for 10 seconds

I am having the same issue just today. Tried hard reset and holding power down for 30+ secs. Also tried with the micro sd out.
Some advice would be great.
I'll try the hard reboot when I get in from work.

Ok,
So my tablet is definatley running. It's just that the screen won't turn on. I am able to pull it apart, is there anything I should look for or had the screen just given up the ghost.
Weird thing is the actual touch is working as I can hear it unlock to say the camera but just black screen. I have gone to a dark room to see if there is any back light but no go. It's as if it was turned off.
Bit over it.
I spoke with Asus UK support today, they said they have had a few dodgy screens before. Have arranged for then to repair it under manufacture warranty. They picking it up tomorrow.
I'll update you on the outcome

When I plug it in to begin charging i dont get the battery charging icon .... Completely black screen.
Take it back under warranty... It's not worth the hassles of screwing around trying fixes that may or may not void your warranty when in the end you will use warranty anyway...
Just remember though, there's always a few lemons in any product line... Just bad luck if you get it...

sucks to be me today !!
Charge it overnight. Make sure that the plug you are plugged into is not turned off at the wall switch or try a different outlet.
Then push and hold the power button for a really long time.

The exact same thing happened to me this morning. Tonight I'll try what Mitchellvii suggests and hope it works.

What I'm concerned about is that my battery was not dead. It had plenty of charge still in it. It was working fine earlier this morning. I turned it off and then later on in the morning tried to turn it on and nothing.

Well, charging it overnight and holding the power button for a long time did not work. Its still dead.
And on top of that I can't find my receipt.!!!

Great upgrade to this device im very happy :good:
So basically I have tried every which way to fix this freaking phone from not bootlooping. I've had the similar problem, but somehow managed to get it to stay in download mode before, just so i could get it to flash a stock rooted rom, but now that doesn't even work. It just randomly started looping on me. This video shows what I mean....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BHn7mxQdQY&feature=plcp
When it got back to Samsung, were you able to do 3 finger salute and get into recovery. Hold power down till logo goes away. Fingers on vol up and down then release power button. See if that works. Jig kick started it but you might need to take it the next step.

Yeah I've definitely done that. But it just keeps going to the logo. When I put the battery in it automatically starts boot looping.

Your power button is faulty.
You can open up your phone and try cleaning the contacts.

Yeah that's what I thought, when you say the power button contacts, would that be the little white button inside?? I've taken it apart and done my best to get it unstuck or something.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Not quite sure. I have never had the need of dismantling my phone, but I have read something about the contacts, which sounds to me it could be beneath that white button.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Thanks I'll give that a shot!
Edit* Couldn't find anything to clean, next step is the mother board i suppose,,,
So I just got my stick last night and while my rc11 remote can turn it off it doesn't turn back on. Is the only way to power these up again a power plug pull? Or do people just leave theirs on all the time?
Thanks for your help and maybe we can keep this thread going for other noobs!

Unplugging and re-plugging is the only way. I leave mine on (but then again, mine runs my always-on IRC connection in the background).
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
Actually, I just remembered... On my model, at least, there is also a reset button in the hole across from the LED. But unplugging is easier.

If i want to turn mine on after its been powered down all i have to do is select hdmi on the tv remote & it powers up..
so to turn off,,power down then turn your tv to tv mode & to power up just select hdmi on the tv & it should power back up
My tv is getting pretty old, I'll try but don't think it'll work. That would be awesome though!
Thanks for your replies, I'm going to try leaving it on overnight and see how hot it gets. Can't be any worse than a modem or wireless router right?

Guys my phone was acting up. I tried to boot into recovery, and it wouldn't go. Splash screen came up and had recovery booting in upper left hand, than it just vibrated and kept doing just that. I pulled battery and put it back in and automatically vibrated. Now it just keeps doing that. I just wanted to clear cache and now it's doing this!
Every time I put my battery back in, it wants to automatically boot into recovery. But than just keeps vibrating.
EDIT: it booted into recovery and went back to its cycle. I think it has to do with my screwed up power button. Not sure what to do?!?
I had the same issue.
You can send it in to get fixed, our pull out the power button like I did.
Sucks either way

How do you operate recovery and getting into it? My phone is back up now. I just tried recovery again and had the same loop problem. Not sure if I should try going back to complete stock.
Does the phone have to be less than a year old to take it into Verizon? Its older than a year. Is it worth trying to go into Verizon?

I was able to turn the phone on after taking the power button out by sticking a pin in the hole and pushing down on the button within the hole.
This was also how I diagnosed it was my power button for sure. I could just flick the button in the hole without paying down and the screen would shut off.
I was told this is a hassle to fix because it could be a short on the power cable. I'm just sticking with my phone like this for now

Ohhhh. Yeah, I'm afraid to take my power button off.
I thought it was software at first. I clean flashed BoneStock and it went away. Then when I double pressed the button today it started happening again. I wanted to try flashing CleanRom but I can't even get into recovery.
It's sds sudden death syndrome it's a known issue with the power button. It's defective.

Oh ok thanks. What are the recommendations for dealing with the issue? I know the user above me took his actual button out. Anyway it could be covered? I'm about to go back to grad school and last thing I need is a defective phone.

Take it to store they will repair it, in most cases it's covered.
