So I finally had the power button sink down inside of my Thunderbolt, this is the second time it's happened in less then 20 days. Once again I sent HTC an email regarding the issue (as I did last time) but this time I recieved no help. So I called Verizon and spoke to a nice lady named Christine, who once I explained everything to her how the issue was known etc etc...
Verizon now has a reference number thats already ready in front of the reps thats strictly for this issue. I will recieve my "new phone" on Tuesday. Just wanted to post this so others who are having this isuue and even if you are out of your 14 days, even though you still have a 1 year manf. warranty, due to the high amounts of this issue, Verizon is not questioning this matter and will gladly set you up with a return.
Good luck guys!

What was the reference number?

How do I know if it's sunken in? Mine works but seems to be harder to get.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
If it's sitting lower than your volume button on the side of the phone, it's sunken in.
Mine is sunken in, but it doesn't bother me.. Doesn't effect the function at all and my case covers the button so it feels the same.
Well I'll be at verizon tomorrow

Yea I have noticed this as well. At first I was taking them seriously. Now its just too obvious.
The reference number for the insurance they have and its not "given out" to customers, it's used to easily process the claim and not ask 100 questions to you. Also make sure they don't "deactivate" your 4G Sim which they did mine, had to return to a Verizon store today to get another one. It has to have an active line, which this is what I was told. Either way I'm still expecting a new phone tomorrow, hopefully won't have this issues anymore.
And yes please make sure you un-root.
Cheers.

By finally offering me a HTC sensation exchange. I tried to love this phone...
Came from sensation. Screen resoultion, size is amazing. But I must say color on LG g2x is way better even though mine have light leak problem. I don't mind.
I hope u get the good one. Sensation have 2 types of screen. One is good one is washed out. And I hope yours doesn't have dusts under the screen. Oh and I hope the you get the good digiziter too. Lots of sensation comes with touch screen problem. Like being unresponsive. Oh and don't break the phone digitizer. You can't fix it by local shop cause after you fix it the digitizer becomes unreponsive ffor 15 sec everytime you turn on the screen. Yes, I'm a troll. Trololololololol

Quoted for truth
1st G2X would freeze charging and reboot all the time in my pocket.
2nd G2X would freeze charging also and I'd find it black screened in my pocket every few days.
3rd G2X would reboot and have issues switching from data to wifi. It would show both but default to mobile data which has the worst signal at home.
Went through 3 batteries also.
I use my phone as a HTPC remote and alarm clock so these issues were pretty annoying. CM7 fixed most issues but there was still the APN issue. Looks like it's fixed now but oh well, the Sensation has been great thus far.
Based on what I've seen LG's QA process is utter ****.

So I was one of those that got the nexus s when it first released. Ordered it online from bestbuy.
At the very beginning, the back button was not sensitive enough. I thought that it was a software problem, but I did read somewhere on this forum that you can tighten the screw at the back of the phone. Now I am not sure if it is the tightening or software updates, enter it was problem free for almost a year.
In the last month, however I have started to notice that the back button has gone the other way, and that it is now either freezing or flashing randomly. I have tried many roms and also 2.35 2.36 and also 2.37 and the problem is always still there randomly.
My conclusion is that it is hardware, now I can have the whole screen and digitizer replaced or I can just sell the whole thing. The biggest problem is that Samsung Hong Kong where I am does not want to help to replace, which means that I will have to do it myself. I have never done it before and think that I might fudge it up. Should I just sell it or try the replacement myself?

The main problem is that I am no longer in the states so no best buy for me. The repair shops here are all quite dodgy. I would not trust to keep my phone with them over night. They would strip it for parts. I really like this phone and I got lots of accessories that go with it, don't really want to sell it.

I'm **** outta luck if you wanna call it that. I'm out of warranty and from what At&t said there's no more Infuses in the world. . They have none in stock and all Insurance can do is give me a SGS 2 for $199, Screw That! I'd rather have another Infuse since they sent me a bad replacement 2 weeks ago, But their is no more .
My problem with my Infuse seems to be the camera, Maybe someone here has experienced this issue and has some knowledge to help me fix the issue. When I run the camera app you'll get a buzzing sound If you tap it again the buzzing goes away, The buzzing sound is creating a warp effect while taking photo's. Question is What the hell can be causing the unusual buzzing sound only when using the camera/video recorder? All my other apps such and music/videos/pictures/ Any other app doesn't cause this buzzing sound and all is related back to the camera app or any camera app at that fact. And if it helps any It doesn't matter which rom I'm on or what firmware it's the same issue. The only fix I seem to have for now is smacking my phone to make the buzzing sound stop. It's really annoying! There's times I can turn it on and it won't happen, If I smack it sometimes I still can't get the buzzing sound to come back. Is their a bad wiring somewhere or dust somewhere it should'nt be?
I used to get this on some early ICS builds. It has seemed to go away with the recent ones...builds after 7/20. Maybe its the flash or focus causing it. Not sure.

Edit: Nvm....... Damn! gotta be a bad wire or something.

Hello xda. Let me get straight to the point. My mom, step sister, brother and cousin all have the EVO shift. My cousin is on his 6th. My bros on his 3rd. Sisters on her 3rd and now my mom is getting her second. All do to touchscreen malfunction. I attached some pictures of the dead spot on the phone. Not only can I not touch there but sometimes when the phones just sitting there it'll touch random spots. Is there a fix to this? Maybe running an RUU?

I've had the same problem in the same spot since I got my phone. Sprint and Wirefly screwed me out of insurance... So I just work around it by rotating the screen.
Changing the build.prop helps. Change windowsmgr.maxevents to 240. If you're not rooted you are outta luck tho, no update is gonna fix that.

The phones did work good for a while but then after time the touch just starts dying. Almost a total of 12 phones have had the same problem. Although phone with keyboards tend to malfunction more than bar phones.

Yeah that is usually the flex cable but mine had a small dead line across the screen and progressively got worse. My wife's does too but hers happened after getting dropped in a drink lol. I'll just say I have done a lot with Android and I can't fix this problem, it is a hardware issue, no software will fix it.
That's what had happened to a few of the shifts. The cable started to crease and that shorted the screen to a point where it was unusable.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
It's defiantly a Hardware issue. Usually the Flex Cable. I've had them bought to me for repair acting just like yours. Usually end up replacing the Digitizer also. Because people tend to bang on the Screen harder, thinking that that will make it work. Which does nothing but cause more damage. If you have TEP, take it in. Just make sure to RUU before you take it in.

After the third time for the same issue you can request a NEW one. They may not be to happy to oblige, but if you stay on them they should do it. Also after the third time for the same issue, you can request a different device. It would be without a penalty. Meaning you should not have to use your Upgrade.
Either im really lucky or really careful, because nothing has gone bad on my shift except the battery. And that's after two years.
