it happend to me again ,
after only one week of super wipe and install of ARHD 6.6.7 my facebook stopped sync my contacts.
i cant have their picture or have them in the people app.
the error im getting is : ERROR MESSAGE:: cannot retrieve the friends list. please try again: [content too large(length unknown) 650000
can anybody help?
i already tried to remove the account and re add it to my phone still no go.
any help will be great i realy must have this fixed asap

i think i know the problem , where is the facebook files on my phone ?
i think there is a contacts file of facebook that i need to delete , so i can install a new one.

I recently flashed my phone with " Desire S Gingerbread 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 >>v0.8 " and tried to import contacts from SD Cards where I got this error message
" this application people (processcom.android.htccontacts) has stopped unexpectedly. please try latter "
I've reflashed with the same ROM again and did a RESET but still I keep getting the same error message.
Can someone please help me import my contacts and dont get this error message anymore.

I'm not sure how you stop what sounds like a ROM issue, but I can help you get around it for now.
Transfer your contacts from your SD card onto your PC. (.vcf format I assume?)
The open your web browser and log onto your Gmail. Select Contacts from the menu of the left. Click on the 'More' tab across the top, and select 'import...'
Point the pop-up at the files you transfered to your PC, and now they are imported as Google Contacts.
Now each time you flash a new ROM and sign in to your Gmail account, the contacts will be pulled down from your account and you wont need to keep copying them to your phone from your SD card.
I dont think its a ROm issue.....cos before flashing with Desire S Gingerbread 2.3.5 I was running on RCMix 2.5 and I did not have any such problem with RCMIx Rom......it was only after flashing with Desire S Gingerbread 2.3.5 that I'm getting this error message. So I thought I'll switch back to RCMix and I made a clean wipe and cleared the cache and flashed my phone with RCMix and now I'm getting the same error message even with this RCMix which was working absolutely fine earlier..........
Can someone please hel me solve this problem.

This began for me after installing Google + 2.0 .. after deleting the data and Uninstalling Google + 2.0 everything works again correctly
I think this thread is done with the work.. So better put a [SOLVED] infront of thread name
Had the exact same problem. Uninstalling Google+ solved the problem. Thanks for the tip.
I too had the process com.android.htccontacts issue, tried messing about uninstalling Google+, removing Account Sync's and re-syncing ... Still broken
... FIXED - I did a Titanium restore PEOPLE (com.android.htccontacts) from an old backup, flashed only the data over (the data in this file doesn't actually contain the contacts, that appears to be in a different area)
but whatever it was that got corrupt was fixed ...

Check your Gmail Contacts to see if they are still there. If so you may be able to re-sync them with your device.

I can't upload photos from my sd card to my facebook account. Uploding process start, but the end there is an upload error.
At first time I add a facebook account on I9023, the first photo posting is success, but the next photo upload will be unsuccess.
Has anyone the same problem? It is a 4.0.3 "feature"?

i'm with codename android 1.5.5 and it works great, it was also working in 1.4.0.
so definetly it's not an ICS\4.0.3 issue.
have you made sure you're always connectef to the internet?
i would also try to reinstall the app if you restoed it.

As far as i remember,facebook no longer approves sync with android.
But i can.say for sure that some custom roms allows facebook sync

I have the same problem. I'm using AOKP on my Galaxy Nexus (4.0.3 and 4.0.4) and cannot upload photos to Facebook. The upload starts, but then there's an error... have tried to reinstall the app, delete the data, wipe/factory reset the phone and everything, but to no avail...
Is there any way to transfer the numbers from my facebook contacts to my google account.
I am trying out AOKP M6 and Facbook sync has been disabled, so i only have the few numbers that are linked to my gmail.
When i try and export them to my SD Card in a Sense 4 rom it wont let me choose facebook, only my google and phone contacts.
Does anyone have any ideas??

theres a fix lingering around thatll allow you to sync your FB contacts with Google. I might have it downloaded somewhere, lemme check real quick...
*edit* couldnt find the thread, but I found the file. here ya go!
1. clear cache and data from Facebook app, then remove your account
2. reboot into recovery, then mount /data
3. install the attached zip in recovery
4. reboot phone
5. sign in to Facebook again, and it should work
make sure you have your Google contacts synced before doing this

i did all you said, and now i cant open my contacts app or phone app...

Iv searched for this problem , couldnt find it with anyone else , Whatsapp keeps not respoding and then giving me the error , contacts are not showing in the phone app , i can only see a blank page , not even strange numbers , i need to extract the contacts before i do a factory reset , how can i do that? and how can i MAKE SURE that i got them backed up ?

can you use an app from play store to backup your contacts?
There is a backup called super backup. It backs up sms and contacts. Problem is if you don't have access to your contacts how will you back them up? They are usually restored through your google account. When setting up your Rom, make sure you have restore account checked.maybe this might help.
