P6211 doesn't work with Odin, how to flash - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hello all,
as everyone, I'm excited to flash ICS, but sadly, I received my tab today, and it seems to be a P6211... After reading around, I tried Odin Lite, with the 6210 flash kernel, but it's not working (which seems logical), and I can't find any other method to flash my tab... I used to fiddle around with my Xperia Arc in the past, but I'm hesitant to use the tools I used back then...
Can anyone with a P6211 shed some light how to? (Or anyone with enough knowledge?)
Many thanks in advance!

Are you trying to flash the official rom or the cm9 rom?

I wanted to try the official Rom indeed. Not fully functional roms tend to make me nervous after a while

I have not tried it myself, but I hear the latest CM9 has functional bluetooth and wifi .

Well,
after reading and googling even more the past days, I finally found out there's also a pc Odin version (guess I missed that somewhere)... I had already downloaded the new firmware and this link got me through it - Odin procedure wise... http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-tab-7-0-plus-p6200-update-ddkl2-honeycomb-3-2-firmware-45993/
Fairly easy and everything seems to work
Sorry for asking stupid questions

SGS bricked! Please help or mom will kill me

Dear Friends,
I happened to have a perfectly working rooted SGS running JPK on Froyo until a while ago. When I tried installing fonts with typefresh. This is where everything went haywire. The phone now doesn't want to boot. It says SGS I9000 and vibrates there 4 times and repeats the vibrating cycle. I want the phone to be working again else my mother will murder me. I tried going to the recovery mode and tried to do a factory restore but that didn't help. Tried to reflash the custom ROM I downloaded from this site (can't find that link) using ODIN but it doesn't work either. While reflashing I did not check the repartition tab. What are the possible solutions here?? KIES doesn't detect phone in download mode. Is there any link from where I can download the factory shipped froyo rom and try reflashing the same via ODIN.
Guys please help it has now turned into a Black Screen Of Death. Though I can still go back to Download mode....please help guys this is getting from bad to worse....
Update: The phone now only goes to download mode...
BUMP! Please guys a few hours before mom comes home from work...
Try flashing a 2.1 firmware with Odin.
Google samfirmware.
Sent from my GT-I5700 using XDA App
You could also try flashing
Froyo that does not brick
and then flash to JI6
EDIT:
Do you have the drivers set up for your device?
Also, What device are you using? The SGS line has many phones. My advice above was dependent on it being a Vibrant
Yes I do have the drivers for my device. I'll be trying 2.1 in a while. What are the chances of Samsung giving me a replacement for the device??
I live in India. We don't get the Vibrant here. It's just plain old Samsung Galaxy S GTi9000

If you can reach download mode, find you favorite firmware in one of the guides on XDA, and using Odin flash it.
If you know what firmware you were on, you can also just reflash the PDA file of that firmware. The PDA file is Packages inside the rar file you download from samfirmware.com
Best thing is to find a guide, and follow it.
I'd JPK before things went haywire. I'm wondering what's the difference between JPK and JPM. Which one should I go for??
I'm planning to flash to JM8 then doing either JPK/JPM. Is this fine?? Or should I directly flash with JPK/M and forget about JM8? Which one is better K or M? Anything else I need to be aware of before I take the plunge??

Hey pal.
It really doesn't matter which firmware you flash. Over the time, I realized that what works for one does not necessarily work for the other. It really is a very subjective thing.
Between JPK and JPM, the later (JPM) is the latest release. If froyo excites you, go for either JPM or even JP6 (JP6 being a day newer than JPM and recommended i suppose). If eclair suits your use, I would suggest JM9
Links:
Eclair - JM9: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=802909
Froyo - JP6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807351
It really is not difficult flashing firmwares on the i9000. Just follow the instructions from the thread to the dot and you are all set to go. In the same breath, I would also go as far to suggest that you stay away from custom ROM's till you get familiar with the process of flashing ROM's and troubleshooting (in case anything goes wrong). Stick to the stock ROM's and you should be good to begin with.
Do update on your progress.
Cheers.....
Fixed it. Flashed JPK everything working now! Thanks for all the tips and inputs!

Hello, coming from fascinate

I have been flashing my fascinate for a while now, looking to mod a captivate now. Im looking for something solid. Just looking thru your roms. I'm seeing that some people are having sleep of death on some roms. Also, I know nothing of your rom designations. Us on fascinate are on ec01 atm.. untill I'm more up to speed, what is a good, recent, official froyo, based rom? I prefer niceties, bln, voodoo stuffs, lockscreens, power options, acc batt, deodexed..
I will be doing more studys, but these 2 phones seem more diff than I thought they would be.. Voodoo and froyo are my bottom line..
Ps.. You guys are lucky to have so many custom roms.. I'm lost in your dev section.. however its a curse to new comers lol..

Our official 2.2 is KB1, and as far as I know the only one that supports the noise cancellation hardware. Cog 4.3.1 is a kb1-based rom (and Torch may also be based on kb1, or I may have just been drunk when I read the description many moons ago).
Everything else seems to be based off of the international i9000 roms with reoriented kernels. Try Serendipity, it's pretty decent if you don't mind the i9000 lineage.
We also have MIUI and CM7. MIUI is based off of CM7, and CM7 is based off of the Nexus S source.
You can also check out FireFly, It's based of Rogers 2.2 and comes with the Speedmod Kernel which doesn't have the sleep death issues. It's solid and reliable annnd it's updated every thursdays..what more can you ask for
I believe Fusion is KB1 based as well. KB1 is the only official Captivate Froyo. Personally, I recommend an i9000 ROM, as they're all 2.2.1 based. I'm running Inception right now, and having great success with it. It's only two days old, though, so probably not something you're ready to flash. Very stable and popular i9000 ROMS that I recommend are Serendipity and Continuum. My personal favorite is Precision, but if you go that route, download version 3.5, not 4.0, as 4.0 is still in alpha stage and has a few bugs. I hope my suggestions have helped in any way and welcome to the Captivate community!
Thanks for the responses,
Are you using cwm 3? Were still on cwm 2.5 on the fassy.. I know there was issues with edify scripting.. I'm looking into your beginners guide when I get on my pc later to see the differences in flashing. I feel a good amount of studying will be needed.. Also, do you have all in 1 odin to stock? And odin to stock froyo? Incase I create a bootloop.
1 more question. being that this is a gsm phone.. Do you still odin radio? Or are they included in the roms? I noticed that many rom posts here don't tell what radio to use, or what is compatible.
Thanks I advance, and sorry for picking brains

I believe we're on CWM 3. something or other. Never had an issue with it.
We have an ODIN one click back to stock which is recommended to do before flashing and new ROM. As for the radio, I honestly have no clue about that.

Torch is kb1 based, but not updated in awhile.
We call them modems, not radios.
You should look at the Onix kernel. It's great.
Continuum v4 unthemed looks alot like stock.
Good luck, and welcome to the captivate forums.
I seem to be hanging up on rooting using super 1 click.. Says waiting for device.. Thinking about odin to stock then trying again.. Unless someone has a better option.

Are you trying to root so you can go to a custom ROM? If so, I wouldn't worry about rooting. I attached an update.zip that will get you CWM. Put the update.zip and the zip of whatever ROM you want to flash on your internal sdcard. Turn the phone off, hold both volume keys and the power keys. The AT&T logo should come up, keep holding the buttons. The logo should pop up again, now let go. it should go to recovery. Now select reinstall packages. The phone should reboot and go to recovery again. Select reinstall packages again and it should go to CWM. I'm assuming you should know how to flash a zip from here if you've had Fascinate experience. The flashing of the ROM will root your phone.
Hope this helps! If you have any questions, just ask.
Andromeda3 is based off the Georgio Armani Cappy. It's a 2.2 rom that has all the goodies you listed. The devs did a fantastic job on it. It's not updated very often because it doesn't need to be. It's fast, looks good, and has everything you want.
thanks... if i can get out of this fix im in ill do that... however i followed this post

This has happened to me multiple times. Unplug, pull battery, restart ODIN, put battery in, and repeat the flashing process.

thanks for being such a help
Most ROMs are not based on Captivate Froyo, because it sucks.
And Gingerbread ROMs are right around the corner. Just waiting on Samsung releasing the i9000 kernel source.

Try this version of ODIN: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989&highlight=ODIN
One-click, so need need for PDA and such. That's what I use, but it all depends on whether or not you have three button combo working. If that version doesn't work, just keep trying on both versions, switch USB ports each time.

we still use cwm 2.5.x.x because as was said 3.x.x.x have issues.
flashing to stock isnt needed anymore as all roms do a wipe, odin should only be used as a repair tool not a normal part of the process.
op just curious what was your phone running before you started odin? whoever posted the update.zip is right all this other stuff is just spinning your wheels. if it was on 2.1 then put that zip on the root of your sd reinstall packages twice and you will be in cwm, from there you can flash any rom. if you were on 2.2 then do a search for 3e recovery sighning and once you get that cracked follow the preceeding instructions
okay.. im all fixed now.. just to let everyone know, it was a computer issue (windows fail). and my usb was not talking correctly. a simple restart solved the issue.. i was worried i was in over my head, and i thank you all for helping. and i apologize for turning this page into a rescue center lol.
i will try that update zip now.. and im on my way to great roms im sure.. you are all a terrific bunch, and im glad to be a part of this forum

How to deodex the Infuse?

Is there anyway to deodex the Infuse yet?
probably the same as a galaxy s. gtg465x posted one but we are haveing trouble getting a successful odin package to fix the phone when things go wrong so people were not willing to try it.
Thank you for the fast respond, are we gonna lose the phone if something goes wrong. or if something goes wrong is there a way to fix it.

well with samsung we are lucky enough to have odin which is a factory flash tool. unfortunately it is not working on the infuse 100%, there may be a new build of it just for the infuse but it hasnt been leaked yet as far as we know. there is also an opensource application called heimdall that works in place of odin. there has been some success with heimdall but the one user that restored with it is having random vibrate issues.
there are still things to figure out, but there is no reason you cant flash with cwm, there are just no proven roms or reliable methods to restore if it goes wrong.
Thanks again. I'll just wait since I'm not good in doing these kind of things.
Just to chime in, you can definitely softbrick the phone if you try to deodex the rom and something goes wrong. I know from experience (happened to me yesterday ) As far as I know, I'm the only one who has successfully flashed back to stock using h8rift's original test tar but now there's confusion about whether it's reliable or not due to other testers' experiences. We're gonna get there just hang tight.

So there are already some people brick their devices and good to know that you have successfully flashed it back.
I just have no idea how to do these kind of things this is my first Android device. I had HD2 and was so easy to do anything. I'm just afraid to brick my infuse, so I'll just wait
I just need to deodex it so I can be able to read and write in Arabic.
Thanks

[Q] Infuse 4G stuck in recovery

Hey everyone,
I have a rooted Infuse that I've gotten stuck in recovery mode and I'm looking for some help! I have flashed several different ROMs over the last year but made a mistake last week by trying to take a short cut... Ya I know, noobie move. I had installed a rom and set up my phone but forgot to instal BLNTouchwake (it was compatible with the ROM) so I booted into recover any tried to install BLN without factory reseting and doing everything all over again. It messed up my phone a bit but I was able to flash a ROM onto it again and it worked until today. I tried to flash Carbon Rom 1.7 and it will no longer load a ROM. I am getting error status 0 and can't successfully flash a ROM anymore. I read a little bit about error 0 and that it's caused by a script error but that's starting to go beyond my technical knowledge and I have no idea how to correct that.
If someone could please give me some steps to try to get my phone up and running again that would be awesome!
Thanks,
Wardo

From very old to new Custom Rom

Hello guys,
I've been playing around with custom roms some time ago and I know some basics but since that time (that was about 1 year ago) i haven't been updating my tf300t at all.
Unfortunately my tablet started lagging a bit. I came with idea that new fresh rom might solve this problem so i came back to xda site where i found that a lot has changed since my last visit. My tablet currently works on 4.1.1 Android CleanRom Inheretiance 10.4.4.25, recovery i got installed is ClockworkMod v6.0.1.4. I belive this setup is little outdated. I'd like to install this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf300t/development/rom-t2817919
How ever all installation guides are created for clean Asus rom, i couldn't find any guide how to install it from the point I currently am not to mention I have no idea what actually bootloader verion I've got, I simply don't remember that. Guessing its 4.1 but how can i be sure that.
Could someone give me some tips ?

Hi Krakus.
Since you are quite a bit behind on this I suggest you start from the beginning completely.
The first step would be to download the correct 4.2 Firmware. Unzip it once and flash it in your current recovery. Doing this will replace TWRP with the original stock recovery and you will need to start again.
I recommend my full guide for beginners located over at transformer forums http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...nstall-roms-tf300-jelly-bean-kitkat-roms.html
Most of the ones here don't have everything in one place or are outdated and one wrong move can turn into a very difficult situation.
Please give the guide a read and feel free to message me on either forum (I have the same username on both) we have quite a few very helpful XDA tf300 and tf700 members over there including some who develop and test new ROMs.
Good luck.
PS. ROMs have come soo far since back then you won't even believe it!
