I flashed the international GSIII boot animation, but decided I would like to flash back to the original. I can not find the original bootanimation for the Verizon GSIII anywhere online. Does anyone know where it is or how to get it?

Hello Everyone,
I have i896 captivate. I am currently on serendipity 7 and like it. However, I need to go back to stock rogers rom, which I did. The problem is, while booting up the phone, the order of screen animations is:
a. galaxy gt i9000
b. i896
c. rogers.
The phone boots and works fine.
Is there a way to remove the gt i9000 screen. Any advice is most welcome.
Thanks
You would need to reflash the stock rogers bootloaders. Unless you're planning on returning it for warranty repairs or something, I would recommend against it and just live with the i9000 screen.
As a matter of fact, I was planning to return it for repairs. I do have the i896 stock rogers rom, where can i find the bootloader files and how do i flash it. Thanks for the prompt response.
No idea where you'd get the stock i896 bootloaders.. sorry dude :/
I'd imagine they'd come packaged with a leaked stock i896 rom (maybe samfirmware.com?). If you find one that has the bootloaders (you can find them by extracting the rom packages and looking for sbl.bin and boot.bin), make sure you have BOTH sbl.bin and boot.bin, otherwise you'll hard-brick your phone. To flash the bootloaders, just flash the entire leaked rom with odin as usual.
No luck there. Maybe I'll live with this screen and get an upgrade in 2 months. Thanks a lot for your response

i think this is what youre looking for. i suggest 1click odin back to att stock first like the guy states then flash the rogers files
Fantastic, works like a charm. Thanks a lot.
I know... "Why would you want the stock boot animation?" Because I do.
Can anybody hook me up with this? Searching around XDA, I couldn't find anywhere with the stock 480x800 animation.
Right now, I'm working off from dman's rooted UCLB3 CWM version. I assumed that this would have the stock animations, but I only see a generic "Android" boot animation (with Infusion-GB A2).
I see that there's a bootsamsung.qmg file in /system/media. Is this a boot animation that only the stock kernel uses?
Thanks..
~wolverine~ pointed me to the boot animation for the HTC Inspire. One quick image swap to get rid of the HTC logo, and it's exactly what I was looking for.
Attached file should be placed into /system/media if using the Infusion kernel.
PharmNerd....glad to help out
With all of this talk of updates and rooting and custom recoverys. Is it possible to do a factory reset re-lock then root with motofail2go?
Im seeking a means to get rid of the warning message at boot i know its possible to be locked and still root.
Please correct me if im wrong in some part of that, this young grass hopper has much to lean.
Also it would be so cool to have the extended power menu with being stock with it is possible.
I dont think there is a way to Re-Lock yet but you can replace the warning logo its just a image you can flash over.
Instructions here down on the 10th post is a link to the Stock Moto logo.
i'll be remaking the extended power menu to work with the update files incase anything was changed

ok cool thanks!
i haven't tried this, but it seems the bootloader is supposed to be relockable, as per the Motorola Forums for the Q with unlocked bootloader(about 3/4 down the page):
https://motorola-global-portal.cust..._DEVICE_AFTER_I_HAVE_UNLOCKED_THE_BOOTLOADER?
i was a tad confused by the explanation of how, but perhaps you have to revert to a fully stock system first? but anyway yeah, if it's just the warning screen for the unlocked bootloader, you can just change that easily, haha.
Once Moto releases a stock image they have not done that yet tho. So until they do once you unlock your staying that way until they decide to release one.

ah, i understand now, an official stock image is needed. i really hope they put that out, not just for relocking but also for the security of being able to do an emergency full restore.
Please post in the correct section of the forums. All questions belong in Q&A.

I was wondering if it's safe to flash new ROM with a custom boot animation active?
I want to update my SynergyROM as it's gotten slow and clunky, though it's about 40 revision behind the times. I haven't messed with customizing my phone for months, however, and am a bit rusty. I downloaded the latest SynergyROM, made my backups, and was just wondering about this. In fact, I'm searching for my bootanimation.zip right now, not sure where I manually installed it... lol
Also, apparently there is a way to just flash boot images now? Anybody have a link to some solid info?
Thanks in advance!

bootanimation.zip is in /system/media, so it'll get formatted when you flash a new rom anyways.
I'm assuming you're referring to bootanimations or splash screens, not boot.img's ..... But then again confused by what you're asking. Bootanimations just need to be put in a zip and the updater-script push it to /system/media. Splash screens there's a thread explaining how-to.

Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I have a Razr HD originally Fido and have unlocked it, both network unlock and bootloader and also Rooted the phone.
I'm tired of seeing the Rogers emblem on boot, and I remember seeing somewhere how to remove it but I can't find it after a couple hours searching. I got rid of the unlocked boot loader screen already, so I'm half way there
Any help would be much appreciated!

Is the Rogers logo a part of the boot logo or the boot animation? If it's part of the boot logo, you can find a thread in here by Zooyork that has boot logos that can be replaced by flashing them in recovery. If it's the boot animation, you can find anyone that you like, make sure it is designed for our screen size, and then replace the original in system/media.
I meant to post back actually, the rogers emblem is in the boot animation.zip. I replaced it with a droid logo from the RAZR m I believe. Looks awesome and no more carrier branding.
It is most excellent thanks for the response!
