Reverse Tethering, G1 use the PC ADSL Connection

I am using now the G1 connected wifi to the PC Network Card (without a Wireless router)
It is simple if you have a network card that support AP Mode, I am using on the PC a PCI Card Kraun 300N that support AP mode.
After installing the driver and the utility, I have an icon in the tray Ralink Wireless Card, and with the right click I can choose AP Mode and setup the Adapter as Access Point with the security too.
Don't forget to share the connection:
Right-Click the connection you are currently using to access the internet. Click Properties. Go to the Advanced tab and check “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection”.
This is simple if you have an adapter that support AP Mode, but before the Kraun Card I was using an usb wifi adapter that there wasn't the AP Mode, and with the Ad Hoc connection that normally you use for PC to PC, there was no way to recognize the PC Wifi on the G1.
I hope someone find a way to use a reverse tethering with a simple ad hoc connection.
i'm trying to find out a way to connect to a computer with ad hoc and share the internet on my G1. i'll let you know what i find

OK, so the OP is saying that he's sharing his PC's internet connection via wifi with his G1.
You're talking about the opposite, correct? Using the data connection from the phone to get a PC on the internet?
There are a couple of apps that do this, but I think they require the phone to be rooted. There's a wifi tether program (for rooted phones) where the G1 becomes a 3G WAP and PCs can connect to the phone and through the phone access the internet. There's also an app or two to do it via the USB connection (I'm not sure if those require root or not)
Here's one app. I know I've seen it recommended, but I don't personally know anything about it.

nope, we are both talking about
PC has internet.
G1 has no inet
set up ad hoc on computer
connect G1 (figure out a way to connect to an adhoc network)
share PC's inet through windows ICS.
PC internet to G1 through USB
Okay, I know how to use an AD-HOC connection using the wireless, but how about using the USB connection to get internet to the G1 using the PC's internet connection...I have searched and have not found anything on this Unless I am blind does anyone know how this can be done?

[Q] Hot Spot feature

Can someone explain why this tablet needs a Hotspot. If it doesn't have 3G/4G connectivity why would I need to connect something to this device? When I connect it to a Wifi any other device could connect to the same Wifi without going through the tablet. When I connect the tablet to my phone I just turn on the Hotspot on my phone and connect the tablet via Wifi. So my question is what is the purpose of having a Hotspot built into this tablet? I'm just not seeing a need for it........
Because USB Ethernet adapters work, too. My work has no WiFi Router in range for me, but I can connect a LAN cable to my tablet and turn that into a WiFi hotspot for my phone.
And Hotspot is just a general feature in Android. It also not makes any sense to have mobile.data and such (which is also clogging memory) on a non-telephone tablet, it's just there.

[Q] Turn Android Phone into a wifi hard drive

Ad-hoc network support?

I have the 16gb wi-fi only version of nvidia shield (totally standard). i have a 4g dongle which i use with my laptop. I would like to use my tablet on the road and thought about using the laptop to create ad-hoc wifi network.
Now, here is the issue: shield did not find the network though another laptop did see it. Is there some magic required for shield to connect to ad-hoc wifi or is it impossible aka not supported?

[PLEASE, FAST ANSWER] Wifi tether by wifi.

Hello,
I marked this post as fast answer because I have no internet by the end of tomorrow.
I have an android phone and an android tablet, both can receive WI-FI over an public wifi hotspot "freewifi" (In france).
I want to tether that public hotspot over wifi because the signal is only in the garden, so I can use it in home.
My android phone can only tether 3G/4G signals and my tablet can't tether since the wifi is only activated to receive the signal.
I can put a wifi key in my phone or tablet but I don't think that's possible that way.
Basically, what I want to do is a WiFi repeater but with my phone or tablet to enjoy the wifi in the house.
Thank you for all answers.
the only way i could think of this actually working and this is a big maybe. is using an OTG cable from your phone to an external usb wifi. IF your device supports such things. and if thats even able to bridge the connection from one to the other.. Would have easier time using an old laptop(still will need a 2nd wifi card/or usb wifi adapter) or something in this case honestly or just pickup a wifi repeater/range booster. Also some wireless routers do allow you to use it as a repeater.
Thank you, I will try that.
I found an android app named "fqrouter2" that repeats the wifi signal, needs root, gotta try that.
