Is there any way to connect otg cable on samsung galaxy fit....using cm 7
Sent from my GT-S5670 using xda premium
Nothing till now...
Fit doesn't support otg, and its a helluva task to even try...
Plus the hardware is also not up to the mark...
Hence, I wouldn't count on it coming in the future...
need a kernel with otg support and some big changes in the framework and file system

hi every body
i will be very thankful if anybody can help me
today i get a usb OTG cable and i was very excited to try on my nexus s but i was very disappointed that even if i have a custom kernel that supports usb OTG i have to support externel power supply along with the cable which make all the process of > on the go < .. absolute not on the go ..
later when searching i found a video for nexus 4 i guess having usb with really on the go mode i.e. without 20 meters of cable extended along the room to the wall..
is there a way to make this work on the nexus s .?

Hi. I thought this phone was advertised as having USB on the go / USB Host features. Were they removed in Jelly Bean or were they never there?
I tried USB OTG cable with a flash drive and go another, as well as an externally powered hard drive. I tried a 5-pin MHL adapter (Rocketfish RF-G1171 from eBay) and had no luck. I haven't used an MHL device before bit tried many times. My TV can see MHL is connected so it seems the adapter is working. And there's an HDMI audio setting under ACCESSORY in the phone settings. I don't have another MHL adapter to test or another MHL device to test with.
Again, has this stuff worked before? Do I need new adapters? Do I need to downgrade?

This is on stock Jelly Bean. Should either be working? Did it work on stock ICS?

That's lame it doesn't work on stock JB either.
Vaguely remember with stock ICS - though if I remember correctly MHL did work to some degree on stock ICS.
Some devices do have MHL &/or USB host working on CM10.1, just not us (yet )
MHL, USB Host & Wifi-Direct (screen share) are 3 killah features, all of which still need ironing out for the Relay.
However the devs at work on the Relay have acknowledged these as 'nice to have' features & will not come about any time soon unfortunately.

Maybe I should start accepting donations lol. I'll work on otg and mhl if I had the connectors.
Come to think of it, I need a USB audio dock too

just dropping by to say that officially relay supports MHL but not OTG. connecting an OTG cable on stock rom makes the system go derp and prevents MHL from working until reboot
Will chromecast work with the relay?

Chromecast is not a p2p device. As such, it streams from the cloud, so device compatibility is not an issue for it. Also, it's been tested by teferi and infernix and myself

Also I wasn't kidding. Get me an MHL cable and OTG and I'll support it on Cyanogenmod. I've never asked for donations before, but you can paypal me at my name at gmail dot com.

Oh sh!t. That's sick.
I've been on July 11th build for quite some time, because of its sheer stability and battery preservation.
Will test MHL when return this weekend. Else will favour for a latest nightly to trial the MHL capability you've mentioned.
So your getting crisp video and sound? No gimmicks?

It seems OK. Don't think sound code was altered after it was finally fixed. Not sure though. As for video I watch stuff on Google play and seems perfect, don't take very many videos with relay camera, so can't comment on that.

If it already works, awesome, we fixed it without even being aware of it. My shipment from Amazon is coming today in any case, thanks dilladale.

How about the USB OTG cable, manage to get hold of that too?
Can't wait to trial MHL when back from this trip.

I'm not having much luck with either OTG or MHL. OTG appears to be registering properly in the kernel but userspace isn't doing anything. MHL appears to be registering incorrectly. I'm going to send my off brand cable back and get the official Samsung one.

from my experience, all mhl 1.0 adapters are the same (same silicon image chip)... so unless yours is defective it won't make a difference... tried to reboot the phone and just plug in the mhl adapter without plugging anything into the usb port before that?
edit: unless you bought the galaxy s3 compatible version that uses a 11 pin micro usb connector... our phone doesnt have that, it needs the 5 pin version (galaxy s2 compatible)
bump for this? Any progress nard?
Thanks for all your hard work!
Erik
Just curious does the nexus 5 have properly functional usb org? I know the 4 had issues and I'm seriously considering this phone so I want to know going if it'll work.

couldn´t you care enough to write your request correct?
usb ORG ???
USB OTG? I assume?
It should. It was mentioned in the leaked service manual. It was supposed to be the in N4 but it wasn't powered so the device had to be powered itself which nearly defeats the purpose of having USB On-The-Go functionality. I am pretty sure Google wants this included.
That being said, I do not have the device yet. But I made the assumption myself that it will be a feature. I am planning on getting an USB OTG and a small HDD so I can interchange movies I want to watch.
If it doesn't have USB OTG, well even if it does, I might get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DR8LBAK...UTF8&colid=FM53JINJQWF5&coliid=I1XFD8MJC41TD0
I guess I believe native OTG will work, but I bought this http://www.amazon.com/RAVPower®-Wir...=1383381104&sr=1-1&keywords=ravpower+wireless just before the USB host "dirty" fix was engineered for N4. Very flexible--power bank, SD case and flash drive ports, broadcasts to mutliple devices/formats simultaneously, and allows web pass-thru when web Wi-Fi is available.

Interestingly, OTG isn't enabled by default in the kernel, so the stock kernel shipping out with the phone definitely doesn't have OTG support.

I hope that's the case and that it just isn't enable yet

I enabled it and built the kernel but I don't have my N5 yet so I can't test it

I guys, today I tried to Wireless Charge while using the USB-OTG to copy some files (practically, it makes sense for me, since there is no need to connect the cable to the Nexus, we could be using that port to USB-OTG and charge at the same time).
I was surprised when it didn't work. I can't understand why would they implement this. Since it's not charging from cable, it could be charging by wireless...
It's not a defect from mine, right?
Anyway, thanks for your attention.

It's not a defect. You need a custom kernel that supports Qi Charging while using USB OTG if you want that.
Are you sure it's a kernel limitation? Do you know any that supports it?

May not be a hardware limitation. But probably a very low priority for implementation
One way I've try to offset this limitation is to plug my OTG cable into a powered USB hub. All attached USB devices use the hub for power greatly reducing the battery drain on the phone/tablet.

hi vevryone, i would like 2 know if there is a way to mirror my pc on galaxy s3 with MHL (that way i'll able 2 c my windows on my phone, like splashtop app, etc.)
Thanks in advance
Im not sure but it might work with a laptop, just connect it using hdmi to hdmi cable.
I would try this my self but i dont have the mhl adapter and i've got an s4 mini so i wouldn't be sure it'd work with the s3. GL :thumbup:
