I use google play music in india and have all my mp3 in google cloud. So my sd card always have large space....:laugh:

This is why I love XDA.
A few notes and bug work arounds for UK users.
(I think this line is a world wide thing) grant permissions for the app to Allow it to use for Accounts. (SJ)
Now it will not let you sync up your device. It will only show local files. To get around this delete or move all your music files from your Phone (or tablet if you're like me). Now go to the settings where you can see running apps and services. Kill all Google Music stuff, delete ALL data and cache then relaunch the app. You'll be prompted to login. If you skip the login the you'll have to go back to "Kill all Google Music..."
I'm aware that was breif but the key points are there.

Neither of the methods works.. I can copy the apk to /data/app/ (nothing happens at reboot) but I can't even copy it to /system/app (fails, even though the phone is rooted and I gave all the read/write permissions with ES file explorer)... any suggestions?

**Update**
Some have noted that this version of the apk only plays local music (music stored on your phone) so I played around in it a bit and found the fix
First, before installing this apk you must remove v3 if you've got it installed. Install this apk and when you open the app it will tell you you're in offline mode only, and will likely ask you for permission to access your google account, go ahead and accept it then close the app.
Go to settings/apps/manage apps and clear data for the app and reopen it. Once in the app, press the menu button, settings, then press "select google account" and pick the google account associated with your Google Music account then exit the app. If you phone is setup to auto sync, I think it'll then sync automatically but if you're like me and don't have your phone set to autosync, go into settings/accounts & sync and tap your google account then tap "sync music" and you're good to go
**Update 10.13.11**
I noticed shortly after installing this app that I was no longer able to add contacts, I got a FC anytime I tried. I didn't realize it was due to this app initially....so today, after a fresh install, I downloaded and added the Google Music app from the market and got the same problem. Not exactly sure what the conflict is but my work around was to revert back to WB v3.5 and get the app setup on that rom, then flash v6 on top of it. After doing that, no more FC's on adding contacts and the app works fine. Just a heads up.

My "test" was confirming it works, which it did. However I didn't notice the lack of connection to your Gmusic acct as I didn't do anything besides ensure it installed and opened. Lesson learned

Not needed to remove prior version
All my music stored on my SD card appears listed twice in the google music app. Anyone know a fix? This only started when I switched from sense to cm7.

It won't install for me...
I tried to install the 4.0.9 apk, replacing current version (4.0.1), but I got the error "application not installed".
I uninstalled 4.0.1, rebooted, then installed 4.0.9, and it installed fine. The only problem is I lost all of my cached music.
Also, what are the changes for 4.0.9, I can't notice anything different?

I guess you have your phone set to think that "external" is the internal storage?
Under Settings->CM Settings->Application Settings, your "Use Internal Storage" should be unchecked for your phone to use the SD card.
HOWEVER,
if you do that I'd suggest copying all the files in your phone's internal storage to your SD card, otherwise you'll end up with a lot of "broken links".

Sorry, yes that link has the download link.... I finished the post and saved it before giving the link to my friends thread, but its there now ..... enjoy as this Black themed Market is sweet plus it also unlocks regions checks on it, so that apps that normally wouldnt show up in your country will show up now in search results. Doesnt mean apps are free, it just simply lets you view items on the market you would not be able to view unless on your PC, MAKING THAT VERY CLEAR......

Several.... mostly I like it becuase I can find other games from other countries on it whereas before I would scour the Google play via my PC to see all the games.... thats how I found several Japanese RPG's and King of Fighters 3 weeks ago...

No it will let you see the apps but unless your phone is supported it will NOT let you download the app, plus i have already tried to install the Ridge Racer apk and it will not work as it is on our phones, as its for a Sharp Aquos 3D phone from Japanese carrier Docomo..

DANG..... well guess not, I tried your link above on it and it still says not available...... I'm begining to question to what extent the modded markets removal of region restriction is....... I have seen some japanese korean apps that show up on it but didnt show up before.... but the ps1 games do not allow....hmmmmmmm ... sorry ya'll dont know what gives...

The mod is not working here. Still doesn't appear country restricted apps like Play Music (Google Music).
I'm outside US/Canada and I wish someone can mod Play Store so we (outside) can browse music, books and video stuff.
I can do this but I need to start WiFi hotspot on my laptop, through Hotspot Shield, clear Play Store data, and then access to full market.

Umm, I was too scared to flash the zips (i usually get bootloops or problems even when others are successful,lol ) and Im used to manually copying system apps so I did the 2nd step from the thread. But Do we really need both apks (Vending.apk and Phonesky.apk to have this properly themed?) I only ask, because the Phonesky.apk is not originally in our system/app folder of our phone. I would think the Vending.apk is where the theming was done.
Edit** I do see the changes and its a nice look for the Play store.

Yes, root is necessary...this installs either via manually using root explorer to copy paste the files in the proper root only folders, or you install via Custom Recovery
I have modified Post 1 with the instructions and download links... before you had to go to my friends thread to get the files and info... but now its there on POST 1...... to fend off any confusion

I don't know I've tried it on my other play too and the same thing its totally ****ed I'm not gonna bother with this until that **** is fixed or just not bother at all. And another thing when I flashed the invertedphonesky.zip it gave me bootloops

Thats why I manually replace system/app's instead of flashing in cwm. I get the bootloops a lot.lol. But about the "error downloading update" message I only got that error on one app that tried to update(apn backup+switch). It just updated google maps and Adobe flashplayer automatically and I didnt get errors.

The mod is not working here. Still doesn't appear country restricted apps like Play Music (Google Music).
I'm outside US/Canada and I wish someone can mod Play Store so we (outside) can browse music, books and video stuff.
I can do this but I need to start WiFi hotspot on my laptop, through Hotspot Shield, clear Play Store data, and then access to full market.
Will be possible to mod this restrition?

Did you try market unlocker... Download it choose a US carrier and then you can download google music, movies and all that

Be aware! The app is NOT compatible with HTC One' serie because these phones used UMS and not MTP. When you unplugged (correctly ejected), all your music will be deleted and you'll have to resync everything :-/
I downgraded to the previous version of Play Music... I hope a fix rapidly!

Can I install this APK on my HTC Amaze (rooted, super CID, custom ROM)?
So I put file in system/app folder, set permissions and reboot?

Looked 'ok' on my older, smaller phone.. now that I got a newer phone with a big screen it looks horrible.

Not sure how to delete my post, but I just noticed that its not all the songs. I guess I was just picking the wrong ones... ones with low res embedded album art. Other songs are good. So there is nothing wrong with the app

i wanted to use the all access play to i downloaded tunnel bear and did everything that was required , all was going well until it asked for credit card information , now when i enter fake credit card number it detects it and won't let me register. What?
Lets you control the music from your edge.
How?
1. Download and install the app
2. Go to the edge overview panel and open up the configuration page for the new installed panel (click the pen)
3. Click the button ("change notification permission")
4. Allow "Edge Player" to get access to your notification (If you don't trust me you can clone the project and build your own version)
5. Return. Now the checkbox "Notification Access" should be checked.
6. Enable the panel If you updated from a previous version, you have to disable and reenable the panel. A restart might also be necessary
7. Start your favorite music app and control it from the side

Thanks! Did you post an update to the first app posted? If so I'll download that and test it out. Currently on the dropbox link you posted a couple days ago, the control buttons on the bottom work great, but tapping anywhere else on the Edge Panel does not launch the app.
Edit: My bad. Realized I have 1.0.

Try deleting app data for the edge player itself.
For me that helped.

Gives me album art bit controls dont work on PowerAmp. This is after reboot...
Would be cool to swipe album art up or down to volume up or down...
