no jelly bean for european xoom wifi 3g ? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know you can flash mz604 nightlie but what about european wifi 3g users?

There is no official CM support for Xoom 3G Europe. Not much for us as far as I know.:crying:

just flash ur 3g to wifi only if u do not use ur 3g like me. i flashed my 3g to wifi and enjoying all the support ;-)

How did you flash 3g on top of wifi rom?
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 2

you can flash it...you will just loose the 3g capabilities of your zoom...that is not advisable
wait till cm team launches cm10 jellybean

If you are talking about the mz601 EU (3G/UMTS) version...
Team EOS just released their first set of nightly JB builds for this device.
Looks good so far, follow the instructions on page1, do a full wipe/factory reset and you will most likey get working 3G.

You mean like lose it forever?

@ new-noob
I flashed it myself yesterday evening.
No problems with the process at all.
I´m from germany and my 3g /umts conncetion worked right out of the box.
Get build #84 and the gapps from the first post.
Place on SD Card and fire up your recovery.
Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik
Install the ROM and then gapps right after.
Boots just fine, System itself is stable for me, of course some apps crash but I guess they just need to get updated for JB.
Battery life seems to have improved a bit, nothing to worry about.
Without changing any performance settings, for me its pretty fast, I didn´t noticed any lags so far
There are some small bugs within the settings menu, but according to the early status of the rom, I bet EOS will kill them pretty soon as well as
adding all their nice little extras.
@eyriiii
No, flashing a wifi only rom just means that there a re no radio/umts driver modules included so the system doesn´t know how to use the radio module. whenever you flash a rom with those drivers again, your 3g/umts radio will work like normal. It´s just software, not killing hardware in any way.

Installed jb on my mz601 3G
3G works
Sd card works
DolphinHD has flash turned off but native browser plays youtube etc...
Rom is a bit different and switching between apps has nicer look
There is app for sms
App grouping
Some apps has moe options from menu (or whatever you call tapping the clock)
Some apps crash but uninstalling and not using widgets helped did the job on my xoom
There are some minor bugs but everything is explained here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777987
In general:
Its faster
Its smoother
Feels better
Geat job from EOS DEVELOPERS ONCE AGAIN!!!

Great you made it, you won´t regret buddy

Its amazing how different is my xoom now!
Enjoy urs to!

Lke it was with the eos ICS rom, the eos JB rom kills lots of limits we had before.
This is again, pushing the fun factor while working on the xoom, to a new level.
FYI, there is a new nightly release #85 along with a new updated gapps package, just take a look at the dev thread

Yes installed already and must agree these feels like different xoom on jb cool!
Still have some issues with some apps like freenote, dolphin hd (cant zoom in/out) but in overal its great!

Most of the app crashes are due to the fact that these apps are not updated to fully support JB yet.
This is not Team EOS fault, its the app developers that are "a little late to the party"
Give them some time to get everything up-to date and it will be easy as always.

I flashed my Xoom 3G EU MZ601 eith Build HWI69, I don't care about not having 3G, everything is working perfectly but I noticed when I check my serial number in settings>about>status that the serial number is not the same as the IMEI number on the box, I am not sure if they are supposed to be the same, also when trying to register my product on the Motorola website it does not recognise my MAC address. Can someone please clarify.

I have been using my MZ601 in Spain, France and Romania on 3G with no problems using the EOS ICS version 1.0. This ROM have proven to be a major improvement in lot's of ways over the stock 3.2 version. I assume that the 3G in the UK functions the same as the rest of Europe?

I have been using EOS ICS version 1.0 in the UK and it works fine on the O2 network so I guess any other operator will work too.
The only problem is that my device doesn't seem to be able to go to deep sleep with it which means that I am charging the battery all the time.
I am looking for a HC 3.2 rom to go back to after having tried a lot of nightlies as well.

[Q] My HOS got an FW update today 2012-05-08 (1.78.401.2)

Anyone else got the 1.78.401.2 FW update?
I have no clue of what it entails...
I also updated!
Installing ...
1.78.401.2 just came out today yet people are already requesting ROM's based on 1.78.401.2....
Also got the update (after manually checking for it) and installing as we speak.
Hope its fixing at least some of the numerous bugs (wireless, wifi, 3G issue, etc) that everybody has with (unbranded) HOS.
G.
I also haven't got any notification but based on this thread tried and am downloading right now - it's 59MB.
Will update the status since I'm among the network issues suffering customers...
Does it include a new baseband (radio)?
Nothing in the UK yet
I'm guessing you guys are all US HOS owners, no update in the UK yet. Are there any release notes?
I checked manually for updates and it worked.
HTC says only "system enhancements"
we will see...
@rboekee
i have the EU - version, unbranded that's the important thing...
Update is not working for those having a custom recovery installed...
After flashing the Stock Recovery with this wonderful One klick tool the Update is working just fine...

I had my Bootloader unlocked via HTCdev... Seems like an unlocked Bootloader has got nothing to do with this issue!
To keep your Phone rooted after the update, use OTA Rootkeeper from the Playstore!

BTW, It now includes also Hebrew T9 in the phone!!! (only if you change your phone language to Hebrew fully)
Just got mine at the weekend, have tried checking for an update there and theres nothing happening at the mo.
3 UK, sim locked, no root, no customer recovery.
I forgot to mention, I'm with a EU phone.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but can I flash the radio if I am dev-unlocked?
Seems like it's not available in the US yet? I tried checking in and then check for update but nothing. Asked the woman to do the same and no update for her either. I'm in Boston btw.
For those with the update in the US how is the signal? Is it jumping up and down still? I'm getting tired of this and tried everything so I'm hoping it's the radio firmware and not the hardware itself.
Sent from the One.
The update is only available for unbranded EU phones.
Edit:
It looks like Vodafone Germany has also released the update.

If you didn't know the HTC way of numbering their FW then I can tell you that the *.401.* designates the EU version (possibly the WW version too)...
And yes... I live in Sweden and my HOS is unbranded...
Yep just unbranded only..
Sent from the One.
Mine also an unbranded one.
As for the update itself, it seems that the radio issues are not yet solved.
3g/H issues are still here.
I did notice that on a certain place which has no reception, with the old radio I was still with reception signal though no actual reception was present, while with the new radio the reception really drops to no signal status.
Yet, as I mentioned, there data switches which are interfering to the data transfer are still here... :-(
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA
I can confirm as well that data issue still here H/3G still interrupting a contstand data stream.
Also can confirm that the signal is lower compared the previous update.
My HOS is EU unbranded.
I cannot see any Hebrew language added after the installation.

P6210 Offical Samsung UK Stock ROM

Hi all,
I am trying to follow up on the rumours of ICS being released in the UK via Kies. However, I have a US firmware on my SGT 7+ (P6210UELA3) and I'd like to get the UK version (or EU if there isn't a UK one) on there to see if I can grab the ICS update.
Does anyone have a link to the official UK/EU firmware from which I can grab and flash the ROM?

He heard it here from qubeuk user: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28725729
It may be a short-term released firmware he accidentally updated to, but it's not available yet. According to its build time, it was compiled some hours after the P6200 firmware.
I understand Samsung strategy. Releases only one firmware per device per week, only for one small region. They know xda members will jump on it, install it, and besides Austrian users, experienced users will stress-test the firmware. Maybe they solve bugs, too, like the P6800 WIFI bug (and I bet this can be applied to P6200 users, too, check P6800 forum). After testing that, they will fix all errors and release firmwares for all regions and all models in a few weeks.
And, they're right. No better and cheaper testers than experienced users. And this way, simple users will just get a stable version later.

I don't wanna get into a useless fight but think it over again. Open your eyes and see what happens when a device like tab7+ comes to surface months after ICS is introduces with HC installed and almost a year is needed to get ICS in a very limited region first, but letting experienced users to install it on their device. Why? Money?
Believe me, this is the strategy. This way, major bugs affect only a few "official" users (Austrian people), but experienced ones can find all bugs by using and testing devices for free. Why? Less investment?
So, "sorry", but believe this is how it works. And I believe your opinion is based on decades of software production knowledge, but mine is.

Official UK ICS 4.04 GT-P6210 Firmware
Here is the link for the official UK 4.04 ICS firmware for the P6210 I've downloaded and installed via Odin today on 2 6210's no problems and much better than honeycomb. I also change my CSC as mine was set to France and now set to UK so updates via Kies work etc.

I used a program from the play store which change the CSC from XEF (France) to XEU (UK) link below. It didn't state that it work for the GT-P6210 but did work fine with a little messing. If I ran it from 3.2 Honeycomb it didn't come up with any options to change the CSC and just showed I was on XEF (France) CSC so what seemed to work for me is to factory reset 3.2 (or 4.04 if you have already installed update)and leave it at the language selection screen do not enter any set-up details then turn off and enter download mode and flash 4.04 firmware from Odin. Once that's finished complete initial set-up and get into the 4.04 OS and install CSC selector from the Play store and run it selecting XEU (UK) from the list and install the new CSC. This will automatically do another full reset on the device changing the CSC to the new region and will now updates OTA or through Kies no problem as your CSC matches the firmware (this is confirmed when you open Kies as it shows the CSC on the initial screen).
Whenever you change the CSC it always wipes the device a little annoying but only needs doing the once so not a big problem to get the device right.

[Q] Something new on Sammobile, could be JB for 3110?

Hi all,
Does anybody know what the firmware P3110XWBLI1for Luxembourg is?
It has appeared this morning (as far as I know), 735M, regions Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom.
It has no android version, so far.
Could we deduce it is JB, based on the BLI code, opposed to the BLH of ICS?

In sammobile, if you look at the OTA section you will see in Final PDA that P3110XWBLI1 is 4.0.4.
And maybe JB starts with LI3 (Malasia)

Jelly bean OTA update not detected

Hello everyone,
I live in the UK and got my Note 10.1 Wi-Fi N8000 for last Christmas from my brother who worked in South Korea. Everything was in Korean and I switched it all in English and everything works fine.
The thing that bugs me right now is that I would like to upgrade to Jelly Bean but nothing new is detected when I hit the Software Update button... Do you have any idea why?
Is it simply not available for me yet and should I just wait more? That would surprise me as I noticed that JB has already been deployed in many countries now, and 4.1.2 update seems to be on the way...
Or more likely in my opinion, does it have anything to do with my tablet coming from South Korea?
In any case, what should I do to get Jelly Bean?
For now, my Note is working under the original ICS 4.0.4, and is not rooted. I am ok with rooting my Note if need be but if possible, I'd prefer not to use Kies...
Thanks for your help!
root and update with odin to get the latest 4.1.2 check the step by step guides first though so you know what you are doing.

you can't update OTA because the firmware that you are using is of South Korea.. so the only way to get JB is to flash it... and don't worry everyone here don't use kies... we use ODIN...
what you shoud do first is download these necessary files:
1. Odin - the flashing tool
2. the firmware you wan't to flash
optional:
3. root
4. custom recovery..
here's the link for guides and downloads - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080366
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016792
Thanks very much!
I would have a few more (newbie) questions still:
- Once I flash a new ROM, will I be able to get OTA updates or will it be never possible?
And actually I don't understand why using a South Korean firmware prevents me from updating OTA... How do the South Korean do then, they can't update OTA? If I got a South Korean IP by connecting to a South Korean VPN for example, would OTA updates work? Or am I totally wrong? :silly:
- About choosing the new ROM (I'll stick with the official ones for now), does the country matter or can I choose whatever I fancy? (I live in the UK right now but I'm from France so I don't know if I should choose one version over the other)
- And one last but not least thing: as my Note is from Korea, my device model is actually SHW-M480W and is not like N80XX.
As it is Wi-Fi only, it should correspond to N8010 but are you sure that flashing a N8010 firmware will actually work?
