With stock ROM I get:
• 2-3 day battery life
• All apps work
• Strongest signal
• 100% working wifi
• fastest overall, zero load time for almost everything
• and finally I don't need to install gapps or anything
With any other ROM I get:
• Possibly 1 day battery life
• Orgasm if I get any signal at all
• Wifi works completely on one in a billion roms, flaky on most
• Bluetooth rarely works
• No fix for any issues on ROMs that don't have major devs working on them
• Some apps don't work, and on a few ROMs some apps even kill the system and make it hot reboot
• Lag like it's a 3-year-old donut phone with the processor speed of a retarded potato with AIDS
• some need gapps, which is annoying to re-install every time you update, which also, you have to do every few days instead of once a year
So my conclusion is that screw custom ROMs. It might just be my device but that's how it plays out. I'll be much more careful to buy a phone that will have real support in the future, like the SGS II, Captivate, and SGS III do/will have.
Oh yeah and about my sig, that is the only ROM that I've gotten close to working 100%. And he's not a gtg, but he's got more support than big devs like that ever did, so if you're a sheep and need to use custom ROMs go with MoM.

I apologize, but I strongly detest the statement. I do respect every bit of what you have said, but I really do think that it is just a matter of personal use.
I have ran Aeon and other amazing custom ROMs and so far the best I have tried was Zeus 6. There are a few kinks, but hey-- it works!
Consequently, though, it's all a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer the debloated stock and customize it their own (i.e., build.prop tweaks, etc).
What I am getting at here is that there is no need to bash other custom ROMs. Although you did not point your finger on any specific one, but it really means a lot for people to like the developers' work. It's an Android Device... This is the main reason we got this: open source.

I get the opposite results of u bro... my lag on stock is sooo bad that I was about to throw my phone on the ground as hard as I could. Ics with some tweaks was awesome, jellybean should be really good if it ever comes. Now on my tablet stock on that is pretty good, with aosp it would fly though.
Trolling like this is unproductive and is intended only to offend those who contribute to this device. My vote is that someone close this thread, and that wayzata start keeping his opinions of devs to himself.

Plus, I agree with ryanscool, any time I have to use stock B3, everything is laggy. Personally, I think that Sammy just did such a crappy job on official GB and used halfass or dirty fixes to make it work. So when ppl try to mod, the crappiness comes out...
There are tons of work being done on the Infuse and I was here when ppl said development was dead; you gotta appreciate what's here man.
My advice Way, stay with stock and stop these random threads broskie

I honestly don't see any xda recognized developers replying to your posts. They most likely have better things to do. I'm no dev, and haven't claimed to be. I'm not mad or even remotely upset, but I do think that you're being a troll. It irritates me enough that you're one of the few people that I'll ever choose to ignore on this site - and I must say, for me, that takes a lot, so congratulations on that.
By the way, here's what you've said directly, and it implies plenty to justify people being irritated with your trolling.:

You're asking too much. I'll answer appropriately.
Most stable stock ROM?
Probably xboarder56's Tweaked OTA 2.3.3 1.2.2 ROM or faux123's EaglesBlood 2.3.3 on a stock kernel. faux123's stock kernel is way too buggy.
If you want my opinion though, I believe at this point the CM7 nightlies are very stable and have no problem using them as a daily driver.
Fastest ROM?
That's relative to OCing and tweaks. No "real" answer to that.
If you're on 2.3.3. already, SuperOneClick will not work. You'll need to install the CWM recovery and flash a rooted ROM.
ROM Toolbox works fine.
I've seen the same answer to this question time and time again - Find out for yourself what the "best" rom is.
I tried almost all of them, with almost every available kernel, and I decided Weapon G2x with faux's oc/uv kernel is the best combo FOR ME.
This does not, in any way, infer that it will be the best one for you. Do your research, and find out for yourself.
Oh jeez I thought this was the Q&A section on a forums, where you can post threads to ask questions... I didn't know it was the "do a search" replies section. Seriously don't bother posting at all if you only got "do a search" response, thank you very much.
Dude you really got to try a couple. Its the only way. I have tried a lot of them but now I use cm latest stable. Its stable and fast.
You can try new kernals but really the speed isn't that great to notice maybe in benchmarks but that's it!
For true stable and fully functional and pretty fast I would say x's tweaked ota version. It will use your internal SD card by default and everything works.
sent from my anti IPhone device
The real answer is the rom from LG is stock. Any others modified or tweaked are not STOCK.

Maybe you just need to learn how to read. I didn't see anybody tell you to do a search.
I did see some people share their experience in an area you had a question about, that doesn't have a pat answer. "Best" is subjective. I told you what is best for me. Some other users told you what's best for them. We can't tell you what's best for you. You need to find that out for yourself.
If you want lean, fast and stable my two new roms are an excellent choice.

I've tried a bunch. As battery life is important to me, I think EaglesBlood is the best. Great battery life and minimal issues. The major issue is loss of data when switching wifi off. A reboot fixes that though. This happens to me so rarely that I dont mind it too much. Anyone have any ides on hhow to improve battery life with MIUI?
If you would understand what you are reading, you would see that I wanted to do a POSITIVE REVIEW on his roms. I am an aspiring writer looking for good stories. Yes, I did swoop in, that's why I like the man. He's not afraid to help and self promote at the same time. So, jboxer, if you read this I'm sorry if I came across disrespectful, it was not my intention. It sucks there are so many people willing to start bs and few to help. We were all noobs at one point, I never forgot that.
Lastly, if you really know how to read, I write for ACS. I have never heard of asc neither. To answer the original question and get back on subject, I run Eaglesblood 2.4 with Dragon kernel 1.5.2. If this forum would let me upload pics, I'd post my antutu benchmark of 6797, JUST in case someone wants to call me out on my signature.

Who really gives a flying F**k anymore. I already knew from previous phones that this would be 1 of those phones that doesn't have enough ram, hardware and etc to run ICS. We have GB based roms with all working features we can all use now all tweaked up to give the best performance possible. I bought the Infuse for 2 damn reasons and 2 only. 1. The screen is big enough for my hands, to view pictures, browse the web, and watch videos. 2. You can't brick this phone, I've done masses and masses of research on this phone and this is the only phone that can handle the screw ups and bad flashes, (WORTH BUYING JUST FOR THIS REASON) ICS - Who gives a damn, By next year we'll have another OS rolling out and ICS will be old news and you won't want it. I hear the next OS is to be called Jelly Bean!
Edit: the next OS is suppose to get better camera software, apps that take advantage of Hardware acceleration possibly Apps that will take advantage of Dual Core, But yet I didn't hear anything about ICS taking advantage of Acceleration and or Apps taking advantage of Dual Core. My 2 cents would be save your money and WAIT!!! Stop wasting your money.
Why has the Infuse forum become such garbage for the most part. (><) LOL! It's really not that hard if you know how to read, This forum seems to be repeating itself with the same topics each and every day for the most part. I feel all confuzled with what's been happening since September on this forum when I first got my Infuse. Dman, Entropy, Linuzbozo, and a few others who have been here since that time till now have been Great! and have shown a lot of support. But as much as I have read so far it seems people are to *****y and needy of things they want but may never have. These devs show Great effort into helping us achieve a great experience with the Infuse, and yet everyone wants to complain about their hard work when they should be complimenting them.

AOSP ICS runs on a Nexus S beautifully. Its hardware is virtually identical to a Vibrant (from what I understand). To my knowledge, a Vibrant is a Galaxy S derivative (or clone) so obviously it'll run on a Galaxy S phone.
If Samsung would provide the binaries necessary to run it on an Infuse, someone or a group of people would have a ROM cooked up from source in no time.
However, Samsung has only so many developers and they have to draw the line somewhere so someone gets the axe. It's similar to what Google did for the Nexus One users. I hear that ICS will run on that phone just fine. I haven't confirmed that in their forums though.

Vibrant has an almost stable ICS ROM out; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362961
And yes, a Nexus S and a Vibrant are almost pretty much the same phone.
The lack of support for us Galaxy S users is disappointing, but given the Vibrant didn't even get an official Gingerbread update, it's crazy to assume we'd get ICS. Now, for the Infuse 4G, I don't really know how different it is, but I've seen ports from the i9000 on here, they have a running ICS version, someone could try porting it.
Sammy seemed to give up on this phone barely after launch huh? If only they'd release the kernel source we'd be golden.
Ics really is not all that...I ran it on several phones already...and yea its cool for a bit...but I always go back to my tweaked out catyrom cause its way faster....it wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be...people want it on the infuse because we don't have it. Trips CM9. It's proven to be quite stable in my use, good battery life, everything works smoothly. I'm perfectly happy with it.

I'm using ARHD 6.2.1 but am only using this because it seemed to be the most stable with the features I wanted. However, I am seriously considering VI.
I'd love to install a fully stable CM9, though.
Legends Blitz 5 (nosense) or VI 3.0...because they rock...try a few! Happy Flashing!!
I used almost every ICS rom,and i am now on ARHD 6.2.1,virtuos inquisition is really great rom but after some time it become so laggy,i dont have that kind of problem with sense roms and they look pretty.
When trip solve bluetooth and camera recording i will flash cm9,until then im stuck with these one
Honestly can't go past the Elegancia Rom...IMV I think it is superior to anything I have used before - by a long shot.
I've been on baadnewz's InsertCoin 4.5.4 for the last couple of days and I love it. It was as though the ROM search had done a full circle. The big ass sense flip clock on the home screen of the stock ROM was probably the catalyst that triggered it all. "Dang, could this be the reason for my battery drain?" And so it began, the quest for the perfect Rom. The de-sensed versions were all tried out. They were stable - most of them - but they didn't show incoming calls on the lockscreen. They looked washed out on the sensation screen; maybe it's just me, but AOSP did seem " blurry" on the sensation.
Finally, sense prevailed. I put InsertCoin on, and sure enough, the big ass flip clock appeared bang in the middle of the homescreen. The battery life wasn't that pleasing either. But then, baadnewz had mentioned in his thread to be patient for a couple of charge cycles. Sure enough, today I've not charged my phone, and it's been cruising for the last 8 hours with 30% battery remaining. I've a hunch it'll get better.
I got the sense 4 golden wallpaper, and it looks beautiful.
And the big ass flip clock? Well, I replaced it with the smaller flip clock that has the weather to the right of it.
God bless the ROM developers that are working to make the Sensation a better user experience.

P.S.: The Sense 3.6 email client has the same deficiencies that Sense 3 had. It doesn't support push mail from corporate servers, and the inbox gets only plain text email. The Cyanogenmod email client can be installed, and it is a joy to hear the "clink" when email comes through, and to see them formatted the way they were sent. Baadnewz and the others - are you listening? This could/should be baked into future ROM releases.

what i like with ics insertcoin rom is that it is really fast, compared of course from the other roms i tried before. the smoothness really impressed me from the start and that up to now it still have not received any reboots or even htc fc's, granted i have only been using it for 2 days but i'm just really happy about it. i have really no issue with the battery since its always plugged in usb even when at home.

Your post suggests everything works. Guy steps in and points out that not everything works and you attack him. I see no troll like qualities in his post. Any ROM with non functioning hardware is alpha quality and this is no insult to the dev just a fact. Peace.
I'm enjoying insert coin ROM 4.5.0, along with the leedroid tweaks lite mod. No reason other than it works and baad is quite an active dev. Gonna update version soon but baad releases so often I can't be bothered flashing new ROM for relatively small changes every second day. Every couple of weeks will do me.

Still running stock AT&T os as I dont see the need to run a custom rom. Lte battery life has increased nearly 5 fold in standby. 10% every 5 hours as opposed to 1 hour with a full signal.

I'm stock on 2.20 (just dd'd the system.img from the 2.20 ruu haha).. Froze a couple bloat apps I don't like. Outside of that, I don't see advantage to the custom ROM's we have. When AOKP or CM10 get up to snuff, I'll definitely switch. But short of that, I don't really get it. 2.20 is amazing, really.

I'm with you beaups. After running only custom roms since the one x came out, I've been on stock 2.20 for the last week and prefer it.
I don't see any tangible performance improvements in day-to-day use with any of the custom roms, and I can handle my own bloat removal. Nor do I use quicksettings or care about minor theming.
Battery life and signal strength/speed on stock 2.20 has been far better than any other custom rom I've used so far, too, and the dreaded low volume bug seems to have been resolved.

Lots. When the official OTA updates are coming. Stock tricks/hacks to make your battery last longer. Find out about LTE speeds in other areas. Price reduction. Phone accessories. I can go on and on.
I'm running cleanrom but I was reading this forum even before i got my one x. It's not all about hacking. It's about a community for your phone.

You can learn about all that on any android site out there, I was just saying xda IMHO is more for modding your phone. I never said it was ALL about hacking, just giving my opinion that most of the info on here is geared towards modding, rooting, theming, etc. Sure theres discussions in the general thread about that stuff as well as in the themes and apps thread but the ratio of modding info to "general" info is about 5:2
Way better on mine too.

Not going to argue there. I agree, it's mostly about rooting and hacking your phone. My point was towards your statement " but what info on here can you actually use without being rooted? "
I listed things that i've personally done on this forum without having my phone rooted and i dont see why that's not possible.
Anyway, this is a useless argument to have. If someone wants to read/post on this forum without messing with their phone, that's their right and we shouldn't try to push them out.
I really do appreciate all the hard work DEVS put into building ROMS. But I really get frustrated with very buggy ROMS or ROMS not stable for daily use being released WITHOUT IT BEING KNOWN. I mean forgive me if I am wrong but how can someone build a stock ROM and make it run worse than stock? I'm not trying to criticize negatively, but am I alone on this? I think everything about a ROM should be posted on the OP. Not just some stuff but everything like "Known issues" "What doesnt work" and "bugs" should be the first thing we see instead having to look for it and being linked to other sites and what not. I am not trying to sound ungrateful but I really depend on ROMS and would start to DEV myself but find myself too busy providing for my family. I donate when I can and appreciate all the work but maybe there should be a category for only "Stable ROMS" and "Daily Drivers"
in my opinion except Lg devides(Because still I have a Lg), usually stock rom better than costum roms... Almost all costum roms have some problem

Tried it before nosympathy and couldnt switch calls, new version came out 2 days later and had no mms over 160 characters along with settings force close. Its a nice rom, but flashing a new version or fix every other day just doesnt make sense to me.

The ROM is incredibly fast, I get great battery, and bug free for me!
Synergy 1.3 in my opinion works the best on my phone. No problems with battery, gps, kernels or even theming.

Furthermore, feedback is specific and constructive. Bringing up issues from old builds that are no longer relevant helps no one and leads to a false impression of how the ROM is TODAY.

This may or may not be true but again, not at all helpful for anyone.
Again, this is a development forum. Things are sometimes broken, half-finished, and often WIP. If you don't like what the devs release, then don't flash it. Your other option is to wait until a dev releases a milestone or stable release. It's really that simple.
Some of these devs are amazing and put out some truly awesome work, however these guys are doing it mostly as a hobby or maybe for donations...but I'll bet they all must work a fulltime job.
The factory roms have probably been dissected by over a dozen or more Sammy peeps before even getting to Red for their further adjustments. Therefore it seems reasonable that the stock roms would be more stable and less buggy. That's common sense!
The custom roms allow user to get rid of unneeded bloat as well as adding in hacks and such. Not to mention almost unlimited theming possibilities.
Every dev inserts a disclaimer in their thread for a reason...YOU INSTALL THEIR ROM AT YOUR OWN RISK! So live with it...or live with stock.

You nailed it. Addict was the only person having issues with Synergy rom and whined and complained from the start that it was the roms fault. Funny that no one else had the issues that he was having. He obviously dorked something up/restored system data from an old build/installed a bad app/never checked md5s or something of that nature.
Then he goes and makes a thread about buggy roms when we all know exactly what he is referring to and we all know it was his own doing.
For everyone's information, Synergy is an awesome rom and has been since it was released. I have had zero issues outside of what I thought was a gps issue but that was my own mess up. I think a few had a different gps issue and that was it and that has since been solved.
Stop spreading crap info addict. You jacked your system up somehow and it had nothing to do with Synergy rom.
Edit: like others said if you want a "perfect" rom then stick with stock. I just don't understand what your complaint is about. It's not like stock doesn't work and someone is forcing you to flash roms every night.
Sent from my Synergy GS3
Seems the OP got his answer and to prevent further flaming let's just close this.
To the OP, Devs take time away from their family and providing for them to make ROMs out of sheer enjoyment.
They make them for themselves and share them.
It is impossible to find every bug before the ROM is released. Even Samsung can''t do that.
It also takes a lot of time to support a ROM, updating the thread everytime a real bug is found, not just someone who can't flash or mixed in a bad app or data.
You really should try to make your own ROM, release it and support it before making a crappy thread like this.
If you depend on your phone then you should definitely stick to stock and pray there are not bugs unreported there.
Thank you for your cooperation
