I am having Motrorola atrix 2 with android version 2.3.6, 55.1.27.MB865.AsiaRetail.en.03, my problem is whenever i download any apps from google play it redirects and waits for WIFI connection for download, even though i have 3g connection it waits for WIFI for downloads although my wifi is not On still it searches and waits for me to connect and download which at times is frustrating and annoying. need to know if anybody has encountered similar problem.
i am from Mumbai and having Vodafone sim card.
Not very sure if anybody has faced similar problem, your help or any assistance is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
The data saver option is on. In settings under battery and data manager, press data saver at the top uncheck "data saver". Should work after that
Thanks buddy, thank you so much this worked for me. :good:

{FIXED} WiFi and Data > WiFi calling > needing to be enabled for market and web FIXED
IT IS Finally Fixed and this is NO BS
this should work for everyone BECAUSE none of the fixes worked for me "NONE"
two problems are fixed with this ROM:
the problem of the phone using Network data
even though it should be using WiFi (when WiFi is turned on of-course)
AND/OR you had to have "Data enabled" turned on
even though you were only using WiFi
as this setting when disabled also turned off WiFi
the second Problem was:
when surfing the market over WiFi, one would get "Network Error"
if you did not have a data plan!
you sometimes got the error when surfing the web also!
UNLESS you turned on "WiFi" calling!
i tried ALL the fixes Nothing worked for me:
NOT even uninstalling Both versions of "My Account"
i even bought a one day data plan and started "without" skipping initial setup
NOTHING worked for me!
EXCEPT turning on WiFi calling
(AND i hated having to do that when i paid 550+ dollars for this phone !!!!)
it should have worked out of the BOX
well the fix is here and done by "doniqcc"
in his rom
[Rom] EaglesBlood Update 1.0.2 (01-May-2011)
<Link at end of post>
i do not think he set out to fix it,
i'm not even sure he knew he fixed it (Till i told him)
(i could be wrong about them comments) BUT he did FIX it
This ROM IS FAST and has a beautiful skin also
be forewarned when installing this ROM you will wipe all your data
(Just like doing a factory reset)
BUT he will more then likely fix this in the next version
BUT it is worth the reset to finally have a properly working phone and WiFi
i took one extra Step that might not be needed
(might be needed also i'm not re-breaking my phone to find out)
BUT when i was in initial setup at the sign-in / create new account window
i clicked the settings (options ?) button
the last soft-key on the left bottom of the phone.
and turned off "Data enabled"
i suggest you do this also, as it is no longer needed if you dont have a data plan like me
ANYWAY
download this ROM to fix all these problems
Speed up your phone
AND have a sweet looking skin
NOTE: the basic ROM does not even have WiFi calling installed, if you wish to still have and/or use the WiFi calling app, he provides a download for you to re-install this app
ONE last requirement
IF you download click the "THANKS" button, he deserves it !!!!!!!

enjoy
PS: i forgot to add the first time i opened the market. i got the "Network Error" message and WiFi turned off (i think it tried to turn on "Network data" and because i had this turned off, it could not use it)
after this first time and even after a re-boot everything works fine no more errors!
WiFi, Web and the market works like it should have worked "Out-OF-Box"
.
I noticed before that a bunch of my widgets would only work while on data and not wifi, i ended up switching to other widgets that would work with wifi since I use that more often than data. I dont use the browser very often or i would have noticed this earlier, but browsers dont connect when on wifi. this is on stock and dolphin and they both work fine when on data so its definitely a wifi thing. Apps connect fine while on wifi, so its not that my wifi is messed up. Anyone else have this problem? Know a solution? Im at a loss, dont see why thered be a difference between data and wifi, both r internet connections.

Not sure if its the problem, but check Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > Advanced > Proxy and make sure it's empty.

Similar loss of data.
I am having problems with data and the problem seems to be built in to the software I'm running. (I am a bit of a noob) went from xda to http://www.toms-world.org/android/index.html and installed the recommended ROM and Kernal (tweakstock 1.4 and PBJ). Had no problems and like it all BUT, if I turn on wifi it turns of data. The button looks like data is on according to my settings but the 4G/3G symbol disappears from the info bar. I can't use any service that requires the data connection. When I turn off wifi, data goes back to normal.
I tried the above suggestion clearing out the proxy but it didn't change anything.
btw, I am terrible on these forums. I swear I do search and search and try and find answers before I ask. I think I am really bad at using the search function. I am guessing that maybe there is an option for this built into the ROM or something but I can't find it discussed anywhere

2 things:
1) The disappearing 3g/4g icon is normal, happens on stock.
2) Check Settings - wireless & networks - wifi settings - advanced - proxy and make sure it's blank.
EDIT: I'm an ass. Missed the part where you said you did 2) - hopefully imnuts was more helpful on this one
Also make sure you have nothing in for static IP settings, or DNS settings.
This is sorta on the same topic, the removing all proxy info worked to get most things working on wifi and data except mms. if i get an mms it will not download unless i am on data. Anyone know if this is a normal thing or does something need to be turned on, or off? thanks

That is normal as MMS requires VZW's DNS server, and odds are, your wifi connection won't be able to get it.
I have the same problem but only at my work on a public wifi connection. My wifi works great at home but everytime I try to connect at work my browser crashes. I checked the proxy and it says none. Im running jelly bean on a galaxy nexus.
I can connect to the wifi in my office at work. I can browse the internet with chrome and I can even perform a speed test with the speedtest app. However, I cannot download or update apps from the play store. I can do these things via network data. A co-worker has no problem with her GS6 on the same network. Anyone else having this problem?
Nope. And works fine on other WiFi networks?

Most likely being blocked by firewall or the like but that doesn't explain why your colleague can use fine

Haven't tried any other network yet, but I will this evening. Also need to mention another co-worker got a GS7 yesterday and is experiencing the same problem as me. He didn't mention another network and I realize that will be an important piece of information.
Would a firewall allow me to browse and speedtest?
Mine has the exact same issue. It simply won't use wifi for apps other than Chrome. I tried doing some recovery mode steps I found on another site, but to no avail. I have tried it on my network at work and then my home network and still the same. I am going by the Verizon store tomorrow to hopefully get it resolved, unless someone in this arena knows what to do.
Same here. Got my S7 yesterday and 1. Play store will not download apps on wifi but I can browse surprisingly. 2. It seems my wifi signal is weak. I have tried using both my 5 and my 2.4 off my router. Same issue. Taking it tonwork today to see how it does.
Update, but no solution. I am able to do everything on my home wifi network. However, my office network WILL allow me to browse with chrome, do a speedtest, DOWNLOAD apps from Amazon. It will NOT let me download or update apps from the play store and it will not let me stream from Pandora.
Does this make sense to anyone?
My wifi issue is a bit different. It seems to randomly connect/disconnect me at work, but my home network is fine. Never had an issue before this phone.
I had a similar issue and a reboot of my router fixed it..The issue was most notable when downloading from the market
Maybe we don't go to work. Problem solved. lol
Had the same problem as you guys, found this on another site posted in 2014 by djsusant - worked for me
1. SWITCH OFF YOUR MOBILE DATA.
2. SWITCH ON YOUR WI-FI.
3. SWITCH ON FLIGHT MODE.
4. RESTART YOUR PHONE. (KEEP ACTIVATED FLIGHT MODE & WI-FI)
5. AFTER RESTART DON'T SWITCH OFF FLIGHT MODE.
6. OPEN GOOGLE PLAY. WAIT FOR OPEN.
SEE IT WILL OPEN GOOGLE APPS
7. NOW YOU CAN SWITCH OFF FLIGHT MODE.
Hope that helps

Thanks , I tried that when I got to work. It didn't help. I found out that I can download and stream from amazon music but I cant download or stream from the play store or pandora. I wish I knew more about networking, I'd check the settings on our routers.
Having similar problem on home wifi. I have reset home router. I can download and update if I turn off wifi. With wifi on I can browse with chrome. Have to keep turning wifi on and off to do things.
have the same issue except it will work at the store I purchased at but not at home. Tried every remedy but factory reboot so far. There is a great signal to the phone at home but won't download any apps. Facebook etc seem to come in but I didn't purchase this phone for FB. Any help will be appreciated as Samsung reps have been no help.
Pandora isn't working on mine either, not sure if it's a wifi issue only as service is very poor here (much worse than the old G3, tradeoff for battery I spose) so cannot isolate the cause. Will do later. The steps above didnt fix it.
No Pandora and not being able to read the SD card from cpu will probably be deal breakers for me if they aren't fixed within the 30 day trial. Shame, because there's a lot to like with it.
I can say just one thing - at least on the 802.11n networks the signal reception is much lower than e.g. on Sony Xperia Z3 compact .... that is little disappointing .... I was kinda hoping that brand new super ultra class phone with a/b/g/n/ac modem will have also super ultra good signal reception ...
I have the edge and I'm experiencing similar issues. I've also noticed that backups and even ones through Google photos will not work on wifi.
My previous response seems to be only temporary. Ive been doing the DNSet app and it works. So it looks like something on googles end, hopefully they fix it soon
I bought a GS7 edge and have faced the same issues. Unable to download/update any apps via wifi at home. Using a netgear AC router. All my other devices work fine. I've tried restarting the router. Didn't help. Tried both 2.4 and 5G connections as well. What's weirder is the phone works flawlessly on other wifi networks (school and the best buy store I bought it from when I went back to talk to them about it, it even worked off a tethering connection off the rep's phone)
Try switching wifi secirity from AES to TKIP. It helped me with S6 wifi issues

UPDATE (3/15/16)
So we were able to fix the issue as of last night by changing the advanced settings of the network we were connected to on the phone to static IP. This fixed the google play app issues but oculus apps still wouldn't download. We then turned off enhanced 4G LTE and that seemed to remedy it. Phone as of now works fine, hoping this doesn't cause anything else but will be talking to store reps about this soon.
Hi.
I noticed that after being connected via WiFi for a longer time, e.g. during work at the office and then when I go out of WiFi range and phone switches to mobile data some apps don't seem to be able to receive mobile data or don't see the connection at all. E g. Waze (shows "waiting for network") and OnePlus community app can't read contents. Chrome browser works without issues at the same time.
Only reboot fixes it.
Anybody experiencing similar issues?
Not sure how related it is, but I was having problem with my vpn. When I got off wifi it would not automatically connect and apps wouldn't have data, there were some other symptoms that I don't remember now. Anyway going to developer settings and turning on mobile data always active fixed the problem for me, might be worth a shot.
Same here

Yeap, I use nordvpn, ones I leave my house using wifi and vpn, I loose data when switching to lte.
I don't have this problem with my op6.
Thanks for your input. So it looks like it would maybe be worth it posting about this issue in the OnePlus support forum.
I just noticed default 4G network mode is not the one I used to have on all my previous devices. (See attached picture). I'll try to switch to LTE Global and will be checking whether it changes anything.
Hi All,
my Moto g7 power is unlocked and has LOS18 (lineage-18.1-20210814-nightly-ocean) installed.
I am seeing the following behavior for some time now:
The mobile data connection of my phone works fine and the LOS-Toolbar is also showing the correct icon for the available data connection.
When turning the mobile data connection off and after some time back on again the mobile data connection works and is available.
(The mobile access to the internet is actually available and most apps are working fine)
But the toolbar-icon is still showing the little "x" which would mean that no data connection is available, or at least the OS somehow thinks that no connection is available.
Additionally some apps are not working properly since they rely on the OS info if a data/internet connection is available or not.
So these apps simply say "no internet connection", and don't work.
I can just fix this problem by doing a restart of the phone.
Maybe somethings going wrong with the captive-portal check of LOS or sth similar, I don't know.
Is anyone else maybe experiencing this issue?
Would be great to get some help here.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
