Does anyone elses tbolt click a little when pushing on the sides of the phone, the edge around the screen? Mine clicks and creaks like its sticking to glue or something but not staying stuck... should i exchange it?
Do you have the extended battery?
no phones stock i just got it yesterday, hasnt been droped bumped anything, and it creaks if i press down on the screen when its laying flat on a desk.
Mine does that right around the volume rocker. I'm not worrying about that or the slight light leak from the bottom. It's not rebooting itself, so I'll see how it goes.
Yes, exchange it!! I just went through that with one. Sometimes it wouldn't do it, like when it was hot and when I tried to replicate the issue in the store I couldn't so they wouldn't give me a new one. Finally I put it back in the box for a day and it started popping again. It was like the screen was loose or something.

Seems like the tbolt has major software and few hardware issues. I'm glad I got the Mytouch 4G instead.

How does that help the OP? Or did you just want to do a MyTouch 4G ad? Lol Before you go blowing MyTouch's horn, check this out...http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/05/t-mobile-mytouch-4g-review/.
My Thunderbolt only creaked when I bought the extended case. Exchanged it for another one and it stopped creaking. Three days later it was creaking again. If I put my regular case back on, no creaking! I've learned to put up with it.

Thanks for the input, im going to head into the verizon store when i have time on monday. I can easily replicate it because it does it i would say 90% of the time, and even if i cant replicate the screen part, the edges all around the screen do it constantly. I got a lemon

Wouldn't hurt to show it to them. My thing is just that there seem to be a lot of phones with rebooting issues that I don't think they are exchanging, asking customers to wait for the update that is supposed to fix it...
Just tried mine again and now it isn't clicking...
Maybe make sure your battery cover is properly on all the way around. HTC really could make better battery covers.
I bought an Invisibleshield screen protector at BestBuy and had an employee in the cell phone area install it for me. He sprayed the phone directly with the solution and now it appears that the solution has seeped in through the sides. It doesn't affect the screen but it's noticeable under the proximity sensor and earpiece. It's been 4 days since installation and it's still not gone and it's bothering the hell out of me. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it aside from taking the phone apart?

Yes you can. If they damage something during installation they must replace it. Raise hell with a manager if you have to. The phone is not in the same condition you brought it in as.

Or just ignore it and enjoy your phone. Does it do it during normal use, or just after you pressed hard on the corners because the OP told you to?
If it moves and makes a noise every time you TOUCH your screen during normal use, I would say it's an issue. If you have to force it by pressing hard, I wouldn't worry about it. Basically did you notice it before the OP brought it up?
It's really not a big deal or even noticeable unless you actually look for an issue...plus the case covers it up...and if you are concerned about something like this, you ought to be using a case anyways, ha.
I'm the op . It was really bad on my inspire. Touching the menu button made the phone click. If they all do it I'm not going to worry about it

If its annoying you then replace it, you just run the gamble of having some other issue that people are having. I personally think because of how hard I usually am to my phones and because I don't use a case this thing is going to be creaking and making all kinds of sounds in no time so I just wont care about it now.
Its like your first brand new car HAS to be perfect and you take it back for every rattle or squeak, by the 4th or 5th you think of it more as a tool that serves a function in your life and the squeaks and rattles don't take priority.
A brand new, freshly delivered, white hox and an equally new gray hox. Neither one has banding,.light bleed or squeaky corners. My squeaky inspire was horrible. And yesterday the volume rocker decided to fall off of the inspire as well.

Lol I noticed this earlier and didn't think much of it. Definitely creaking. Not sure if worth an exchange tho.

Welcome to XDA, where we probe our phones until we find a issue. Lol. Mine doesn't do it unless I go hulk on the corner, which I will never do under normal use. So it's fine to me.
No problems here
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Can't speak for the OP, but I think some people are intentionally looking for problems with the phone. i.e. doing things that wouldn't occur during normal operation, such as pushing down on the screen edges.
So far my phone hasn't had a single issue.
i dont push down hard on the buttons so i dont know
Mine has some give but no sound. Nothing i would've noticed if the op had never brought it up

I looked for it on this phone because, like dust under the screen, it seems to follow HTC around from device to device.
I'm not one to freak out over little stuff like this, but I just wanted to get the info out there in case it wasn't an isolated incident/defect on MY device.
I'm having the same issue on the bottom left corner. It started to randomly make a clicking noise and then I found this topic. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one but I would rather have a perfect phone!!
I've also noticed the small gap in the lower left allows a little bit of light out so out looks like the seal isn't perfect, hence the clicking too I guess.
I would return it to HTC but after reading other people's posts, it's likely that I could just get another bad one.
Sigh. £400 and it still has issues.
The bottom left of my HTC One X has a little give but I dont think its anything major that should be taken very seriously

I am on my third device after two TEP warranty replacements in about a year. Both times I had to have it replaced, the device simply turned off and refused to ever turn back on again. The phone techs at the Sprint store couldn't fix or explain it, so naturally under TEP I was issued free replacements. I suspect something on the mainboard decided to give out, although nothing visibly was awry according to the techs.
Has anyone else had this issue? Or any similar stories?
I still have the one i picked up last year

Issues: proximity sensor, keyboard and softkey lights don't work, fried original battery, "water damage"... And I'm sure there's more that I'm overlooking. I'll probably try and make this one last until I upgrade (Novemberish).

Yeah I broke the clips that hold the back piece on thru various battery pulls and such. I just gave them a call and asked for a new one and they just sent one over... come to think of it they didn't actually ask for any proof of purchase either time... this might be something that could easily be abused lol

On my original Shift, about a year old now and I don't use a case. Headphone jack is dying and the "f" key has to be pressed a little harder than normal, but everything else is in great shape.

I cracked the glass on my camera lens. What can be done about fixing it??
I know insurance covers it, but only if I pay the $200 deductible. HTC can fix it for next to nothing in cost, but that requires I mail the phone to california, wait for it to be fixed and for them to mail it back.
I have found the entire back portion of the phone available on eBay for $40 however after closer look, these are all for the HTC One X, not the HTC One XL.
I was talking to a friend of mine and he says the glass is just a very thin piece of protection and you really dont need it so I should just remove it. As it is now, the camera takes extremely blury photos. Any ideas on how best to fix this? If the glass is not important, I might just remove it entirely but it'd be nice if I could fix it somewhat cheaply.
i have to ask how the hell did you crack your lens cover

I'm pretty sure it happened while I was working. I keep my phone clipped into my seidio active holster. The case keeps the phone protected quite well. I've dropped the phone from the height of 4-8' several times, without any adverse effects.
I know the night I was working on a large data/phone cabling job, I am sure I did not drop it. But when I went to take my photos, they all came out blury and I found its cracked. Has two cracks, forming sort of an X. I would bet you that it happened while I was working on the hard tile floor and rolled over on top of something hard like one of my tools or something. Possibly. Still unsure.

I did call AT&T warranty, I was told that they do not cover small issues like cracked glass on the camera lens. They will only replace the phone if it was not working... like a bad micro usb port or something. If I was more sleezy than I already am, I would break it so that I can get it replaced. But I'm not doing that.
