Does anyone elses tbolt click a little when pushing on the sides of the phone, the edge around the screen? Mine clicks and creaks like its sticking to glue or something but not staying stuck... should i exchange it?
Do you have the extended battery?
no phones stock i just got it yesterday, hasnt been droped bumped anything, and it creaks if i press down on the screen when its laying flat on a desk.
Mine does that right around the volume rocker. I'm not worrying about that or the slight light leak from the bottom. It's not rebooting itself, so I'll see how it goes.
Yes, exchange it!! I just went through that with one. Sometimes it wouldn't do it, like when it was hot and when I tried to replicate the issue in the store I couldn't so they wouldn't give me a new one. Finally I put it back in the box for a day and it started popping again. It was like the screen was loose or something.

How does that help the OP? Or did you just want to do a MyTouch 4G ad? Lol Before you go blowing MyTouch's horn, check this out...http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/05/t-mobile-mytouch-4g-review/.
My Thunderbolt only creaked when I bought the extended case. Exchanged it for another one and it stopped creaking. Three days later it was creaking again. If I put my regular case back on, no creaking! I've learned to put up with it.

Thanks for the input, im going to head into the verizon store when i have time on monday. I can easily replicate it because it does it i would say 90% of the time, and even if i cant replicate the screen part, the edges all around the screen do it constantly. I got a lemon

Wouldn't hurt to show it to them. My thing is just that there seem to be a lot of phones with rebooting issues that I don't think they are exchanging, asking customers to wait for the update that is supposed to fix it...
Just tried mine again and now it isn't clicking...
Maybe make sure your battery cover is properly on all the way around. HTC really could make better battery covers.

The data lag that you're referring to is an issue. Exchanging your phone will not resolve it. I found a fix (at least it works for the most part) that I posted in the developer section. As for the other problems you named, I'm not having any of those issues.

I despise walmart but I found humor in what you wrote. So you're saying that Walmart opens the devices and fudges them up, then sends them out "all whack yo"? You don't think it's more likely that it was just a bad device? The real reason why wally world can sell them so cheap is because it's bait to get you inside the store. Once inside, you're likely to do your shopping there and hence Walmart turns a profit. Most of these other retailers sell it at almost cost and make their money on screen protectors, and cases.
Called tmobile since this last replacements screen was way horrible the entire top of the screen was unstuck causing loads of screen bleed.

After 3 tmobiles return policy is a new phone not a warranty replacement. Not sure if you're dealing with them on the phone but go into a store. Also don't use the screen issues as reason for return they aren't suppose to be doing any returns/exchange for that. If you have GPS/reboot /sleep of death issues they can warranty exchange 3 times if still an issue they are to give a new phone no refurbs. That's from my store manager here locally. I'm waiting on warranty replacement #2 the first one was so bad at sleep of death I shipped it back the same day and kept my original that reboots several times. At least for the majority of tbw time it comes back on.

There is now way 10 out 10 were bad. The odds against that are astronomical. I am surprised T-Mobile didn't shut you down after two or three. I think there is some user error involved here. Enjoy your Sensation.

It wont solve the issue. I went thru 7 G2s all with dust under the screen. Im telling you you will get use to it. HTC qc sucks ass.

I was thinking about doing it until the limited warranty ends
I've heard of people complaining about this "issue" a lot now, but I've never experienced it. I've had an HTC DREAM (ADP1), HTC VISION, and now my GF has an HTC DOUBLESHOT. There has never been an issue with dust under the screen. I would suggest that it may, therefore, be related to EXPOSURE to dust. Possibly related to how you protect the phone. Do you keep your phone in a clean pouch? Or do you drop it in your pocket along with whatever other cruft you may be walking around with? Do you work in a particularly dusty environment?
In any case, the issue would be that the digitizer sits above the LCD. The only place where dust could conceivably get to that would be visible as "under the screen" is between the digitizer and the LCD. You should be able to disassemble the phone and wipe it out (after warranty expires). Until then, use warranty, and then protect the phone from dust.
I've never had issues with dust under my screen, but then again I've always kept my phones in a G1 pouch
http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-HTC-Google-Phone-Pocket/dp/B001OOEQJ2
The only time I've had an issue was when I took apart my MyTouch 3G slide and touched underneath the screen and got prints all over it and put it back together without realizing it, so that was entirely my fault..
No dust for me. Have my phone on me 24/7 in an extremely dusty environment. I am a powder coater
I am usually covered head to toe, with powdercoat and metal dust. Kept loose in my pocket and I use it 3-4times an hour to check the time.

The earpiece on this phone is kinda big; perhaps dust is making its way in from there?

Upon further inspection, it seems this might actually be the port of entry; see attached photo.
The glowing blueish area in the red rectangle is the LCD, pretty much open to whatever can make its way in, i.e. dust. There is another opening similar to this further down the track between the screen and keyboard and you can see it pretty well if the screen is lit up.

Or just ignore it and enjoy your phone. Does it do it during normal use, or just after you pressed hard on the corners because the OP told you to?
If it moves and makes a noise every time you TOUCH your screen during normal use, I would say it's an issue. If you have to force it by pressing hard, I wouldn't worry about it. Basically did you notice it before the OP brought it up?
It's really not a big deal or even noticeable unless you actually look for an issue...plus the case covers it up...and if you are concerned about something like this, you ought to be using a case anyways, ha.

If its annoying you then replace it, you just run the gamble of having some other issue that people are having. I personally think because of how hard I usually am to my phones and because I don't use a case this thing is going to be creaking and making all kinds of sounds in no time so I just wont care about it now.
Its like your first brand new car HAS to be perfect and you take it back for every rattle or squeak, by the 4th or 5th you think of it more as a tool that serves a function in your life and the squeaks and rattles don't take priority.
A brand new, freshly delivered, white hox and an equally new gray hox. Neither one has banding,.light bleed or squeaky corners. My squeaky inspire was horrible. And yesterday the volume rocker decided to fall off of the inspire as well.

I looked for it on this phone because, like dust under the screen, it seems to follow HTC around from device to device.
I'm not one to freak out over little stuff like this, but I just wanted to get the info out there in case it wasn't an isolated incident/defect on MY device.
I'm having the same issue on the bottom left corner. It started to randomly make a clicking noise and then I found this topic. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one but I would rather have a perfect phone!!
I've also noticed the small gap in the lower left allows a little bit of light out so out looks like the seal isn't perfect, hence the clicking too I guess.
I would return it to HTC but after reading other people's posts, it's likely that I could just get another bad one.
Sigh. £400 and it still has issues.
The bottom left of my HTC One X has a little give but I dont think its anything major that should be taken very seriously

I am on my third device after two TEP warranty replacements in about a year. Both times I had to have it replaced, the device simply turned off and refused to ever turn back on again. The phone techs at the Sprint store couldn't fix or explain it, so naturally under TEP I was issued free replacements. I suspect something on the mainboard decided to give out, although nothing visibly was awry according to the techs.
Has anyone else had this issue? Or any similar stories?

3rd one going strong ,although a mothers purse has put that thing through hell . I cant stand to look at it without crying
And like quite a few else the silver letters are gone on mine from the back cover

Still on my first since I got it last May. On my third otterbox case tho... gotta love the fact that they replace it for free if you break it

Yeah I broke the clips that hold the back piece on thru various battery pulls and such. I just gave them a call and asked for a new one and they just sent one over... come to think of it they didn't actually ask for any proof of purchase either time... this might be something that could easily be abused lol

Yup it has been. Theres a whole thread about how people abuse this and how otterbox is going to start getting much stricter like others by making you send in the old case. Its a shame people do this.

Am I the only one who's still on their original Shift?
And am I the only one who got it on January 9th?
I dunno, I just like to handle my tech carefully.
On my original Shift, about a year old now and I don't use a case. Headphone jack is dying and the "f" key has to be pressed a little harder than normal, but everything else is in great shape.
7 or 8.

1st Shift here as well since last January, I didn't root it until this past February, call me a procrastinator lol.
Edit: Technically this is my 2nd, 1st had GPS issues and I returned it to BB in the first month.

Well I was on my first but it appears my touch screen is going out. It only works when the keyboard is out about a half inch
