Which MIUI rom is the "best" for the g2x? I'm a little bored of CM7 and would like to try something else.
Try them all...
Is there a main "official" one? The thing is, I don't know too much about it because I guess XDA doesn't allow it or MIUI doesn't allow it on XDA?
There is jface and whitehawks port so only 2 to choose from.
For me personally I prefer whitehawkx version stems to have all features and everything is stable compared to jface

On whitehawkx right now. No issues whatsoever. This is a stable as I've ever seen an ASOP rom.

I like the rom only reason i switched is mms pics i got were soo little i could hardly see them. I asked in 3 different forums and got no reply.
For users with tiny mms picture problem. Download GO SMS and set it to 1.2 MB and "Preserve Image Size" and you'll get good MMS pics.
Whats the best kernel to use with these roms?
Any cm7 kernel will theoretically work, I used faux though

I know, but miui has a beautiful messaging app, why should we have to use 3rd party bloatware..
I'm using miui4g2x 1.8.19 by jumaaneface
Seems to be a big step in the right direction over the very first MIUI ported ROM I tried.
WiFi Calling would make it perfect. Battery seems to be good.
I'm downloading 1.8.26 by Whitehawx now:
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=1858&page=45
I'll compare the two and figure out which one I like better. I really enjoy the blue default theme by jumaaneface. I don't think anything has been changed or updated other then using the latest 1.8.26 build (no G2x tweaks).
Update:
I don't really see any framework differences. I don't like the Boot Animation of Whitehawx. The one from jumaaneface had a sweet MIUI boot animation. Whitehawx 1.8.26 has the WiFi Calling app but it isn't seeing my SIM Card (which is the problem they've been having)... so no extra benefit there.
Music isn't FCing on the newer build which is a plus. There is also a DND (Do Not Disturb) app which wasn't in the older rom.
I could be wrong but battery seems to be chewing through the new build. From 8am-2pm I was at 60%. I flashed the new rom and booted up at ~55% and within 2 hours I'm down to 40%.
I did flash 1.8.26 over 1.8.19 so I'm not sure of any apps I carried over, only the new apps and features.
Running stock MIUI with stock kernel and Go Launcher.
Battery is awesome i can last a full work day without having to plug in.
After using it for a few days, I'm pretty disappointed.
1. There's no "all apps" button.
2. No 2g/3g toggle built into toggles.
3. Can't even use PowerControl because you can't change its parameters.
4. Battery life seems worse than Cynogen.
5. When typing in URL, it will randomly close the keyboard.
6. Can't add custom shortcuts.

For starters use Go Launcher. They pair nicely. Else put a folder on the launcher bar and drop all apps in there.
Also use 8.19 because the latest one 8.26 killed my battery.
Why use powercontrol when you have every toggle in the pull down?
8.19 comes with swipe but the stock GB keyboard has a wonky dictionary. The fix is to just download the GB KB from the market and switch to it. It may also solve the hiding keyboard cause I haven't a problem with the market version.
The only downside I've found is that Maps doesn't appear to be intregreted very well with the stock browser. Usually I'll get a pop-up asking to open the link with the actual Google Map app which is easier to use on a mobile.
LG G2x - 2.3.5 MIUI Love
Asus TF - Custom 3.2
Whitehawks is great, never tried jumaaneface.
If you're a Wind user in Canada you cannot use whitehawkx MIUI because data does not work. You have to use face MIUI.
Switching back to CM7. MIUI is pretty terrible in my opinion.
miui 1.9.9
whitehawk version 1.9.9
Was using miui 1.9.2 and it ran great with minor issues like my led home lights would shut off and the only way to get them back was from the led setting or reboot. Sometimes my phone would just turn off thinking it was asleep but was actually off. I would have to pull the battery out to turn it back on. I downloaded 1.9.9 but haven't tried yet using weapon g2x 2.5 and so far everything is running smooth with no issues. I had to uninstall tw launcher cause it was force closing now everything is great.

looking to add some features to this wonderful ROM
[ROM]SKY ICS UCLD2--- 4.2d-8 (4/23/12)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602216
1.) how do i install the Battery Glowing Crysis onto this rom (love the look of that battery mod)
( i tried this url http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282193 - but i am prompted for credentials upon attempting to download - also, i tried to install this mod from a different url, and was stuck into a boot lock, and had to revert from a backup - so i suppose im looking for a true, and tested way to get this battery mod, to function on the ROM listed above.
2.) on the dialer page, how do i get the quick launch at the top to show "contacts" instead of hitting the soft keys at the bottom?
as always, thanks in advance!!

Phone: Galaxy S2 Skyrocket
ROM: SKY ICS UCLD2--- 4.2d-8 (4/23/12)
Modem: UCLD2 (LATEST LEAK)
Addons:
Crysis Signals
Call Recording (Black and blue Dialer/Contacts)
-----
side note:
this addon comes with a disclaimer...
Xloud On (Breaks Power Amp but adds atleast 4-6DB )
(what is "power amp" and what does it being broken signify? as in, to what extent does this cause other features, items to not function... as i've not yet installed this Addon- i could use the extra DB but not sure what "breaks the power amp" means)

2.) You don't. ICS removed that feature. I've seen some people say that they are working on modding it back in, but I have yet to see any success. Although, I could be mistaken... which would actually be great haha.

Poweramp is a music player that can be bought from the play store. That's all, it's not a super secret system type thing. It's a nice music player a lot of people use, so Sean made a way for it to work.

I thought xloud was removed due to being useless? I see that it's back (optionally). Is it worth breaking poweramp to use xloud? Cui bono?

OK guys. I'm old and can't keep up with all the updates and add -ins. I'm currently running Nexus mod but have been trying to follow sky ics because it does sound nice. Just wondering what opinions are? Is sky ics as good and stable as it sounds?

Better than it sounds. I've never had a problem with either sky's, if anything is unstable for a couple users Sean will throw it in an update. IMO its the best out there, but its all in what your looking for.

I am currently on the version 9 update and must say that I'm loving it. My only problem so far is I cannot get voice dial to work, but it didn't work under stock either so I'm not blaming the rom (I think its my headset)

I love the responsiveness and the fluid movement from app to app. And yeah, you need to install SuperUser. You should probably add it to the ROM in the next release, since it's one of the most widely used app. You don't have to though if you prefer not to. Just let people know.
next update ill be sure to add it

hey guys.. any of yaw mac users? i downloaded the file but it is placed in my download folder as a "folder" and not a .zip. tried downloading twice with same result. anywhoo i tried even placing the folder on my sd card to try to install but 4ext (most recent) doesn't see it. can yaw assist without my needs hijacking this thread? thanks
I loaded it on my Inspire and it Look(ed) really nice runs pretty good so far but the character set changed from English. How do i change it back to English? I cant read the language. How do i remove the Chinese letters and go back to english for good.
Rom looks very slick and gorgeous, I like it. Yes, it still need more polish with the language dictionary and UI. I will keep this one for at least a week to see how will manage battery consumption and signal.

Yes, the keyboard has some chinese text and there is also chinese text in other parts of the settings.
Looks really nice. Will report back after some more use.
Is there a way to remove the green battery icon on the top left?
Sent from a dream.
There is chinese text in allot of place. In the setting where you set data limit. The keyboard. Also sometime the predictive text comes up with chinese letters.
OK thanks for the feedback will work on when I get home and I saw that there is a new update for the rom will work on it
OK for keyboard go to settings ' lauguage and keyboard setting Google Pinyin and toggle Chinese prediction off and I'll look into settings in a little while
For the green battery icon just go into skakes battery booster and go into settings and toggle notification off
Just noting a few bugs I've found.
-in settings, system, cpu overclock, available cpufreq governors it will stay checked for interactive even when changing it. Sometimes there wouldn't be a checkmark showing. But when you check the cpu info it will show whatever was changed.
-in notification settings it's all in chinese characters.
-with the pull down menu/notifications or whatever it's called, under switch, flash light doesn't work. If you long press it it fc's the whatever you call the pull down thing.
-downloaded the update for the dx battery boost but it will not install.
-when choosing the motorola or mooke theme, it changes but then fc's right after clicking the menu button. Did not try the ics theme.
If anyone needs the htc ime keyboard here you go. This is the black one. Works quite well. Let me know if you want the white one.

Edit: is there a way to improve the wifi? Seems to be weak with slow download speeds.
Love the rom, gonna keep this one. Keep up the good work.

Hi guys!
Just a simple question here. I had sabsa prime 8.5 and through using some app or flashable zip i had my clock displaying in the center of the notification bar instead of on the right. I installed sabsa 10.0 today and forgot how I managed to get the clock there. I thought there was an option for that in that' Pimp my rom' app, but there isn't. I can't for the life of me figure out how I did it on desire S. I searched the forums but all I can find is for either CM or other phones.
Help please!
I might be wrong, but i think there's an option in "Fallout tweaks".
Hot damn...you're a genius...I checked fallout tweaks earlier but for god knows what reason didn't go in the status bar tweaks' menu. Thanks man. I feel quite dumb.
Hi everyone!
I installed the ViperOneS Rom 2.0.0 (HTCExtension_Sense45_2). Rom workes perfectly nice with one exeption.
Everytime I open my clock app - to get access to alarm or timer - the app closes after 4 seconds. No matter what I do...
I did full wipe to install the Rom. Also I changed some small things like color themes, activated infinite scroll, changed clock-widget background color and some other little things...
Not sure what is causing the problem. Since I didn't find any posts with a similar problem I think I messed something up.
Has anyone an idea what to do to get rid of the problem? (also installing new sense clock apk's didn't solve the problem....)
Thanks for any help!
