Which MIUI Rom? - T-Mobile LG G2x

Which MIUI rom is the "best" for the g2x? I'm a little bored of CM7 and would like to try something else.

Try them all...

Is there a main "official" one? The thing is, I don't know too much about it because I guess XDA doesn't allow it or MIUI doesn't allow it on XDA?

There is jface and whitehawks port so only 2 to choose from.

For me personally I prefer whitehawkx version stems to have all features and everything is stable compared to jface
sent from a guy living in a van down by the river

On whitehawkx right now. No issues whatsoever. This is a stable as I've ever seen an ASOP rom.

I like the rom only reason i switched is mms pics i got were soo little i could hardly see them. I asked in 3 different forums and got no reply.

For users with tiny mms picture problem. Download GO SMS and set it to 1.2 MB and "Preserve Image Size" and you'll get good MMS pics.

Whats the best kernel to use with these roms?

Any cm7 kernel will theoretically work, I used faux though

I know, but miui has a beautiful messaging app, why should we have to use 3rd party bloatware..

I'm using miui4g2x 1.8.19 by jumaaneface
Seems to be a big step in the right direction over the very first MIUI ported ROM I tried.
WiFi Calling would make it perfect. Battery seems to be good.
I'm downloading 1.8.26 by Whitehawx now:
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=1858&page=45
I'll compare the two and figure out which one I like better. I really enjoy the blue default theme by jumaaneface. I don't think anything has been changed or updated other then using the latest 1.8.26 build (no G2x tweaks).
Update:
I don't really see any framework differences. I don't like the Boot Animation of Whitehawx. The one from jumaaneface had a sweet MIUI boot animation. Whitehawx 1.8.26 has the WiFi Calling app but it isn't seeing my SIM Card (which is the problem they've been having)... so no extra benefit there.
Music isn't FCing on the newer build which is a plus. There is also a DND (Do Not Disturb) app which wasn't in the older rom.
I could be wrong but battery seems to be chewing through the new build. From 8am-2pm I was at 60%. I flashed the new rom and booted up at ~55% and within 2 hours I'm down to 40%.
I did flash 1.8.26 over 1.8.19 so I'm not sure of any apps I carried over, only the new apps and features.
Running stock MIUI with stock kernel and Go Launcher.

Battery is awesome i can last a full work day without having to plug in.

After using it for a few days, I'm pretty disappointed.
1. There's no "all apps" button.
2. No 2g/3g toggle built into toggles.
3. Can't even use PowerControl because you can't change its parameters.
4. Battery life seems worse than Cynogen.
5. When typing in URL, it will randomly close the keyboard.
6. Can't add custom shortcuts.

For starters use Go Launcher. They pair nicely. Else put a folder on the launcher bar and drop all apps in there.
Also use 8.19 because the latest one 8.26 killed my battery.
Why use powercontrol when you have every toggle in the pull down?
8.19 comes with swipe but the stock GB keyboard has a wonky dictionary. The fix is to just download the GB KB from the market and switch to it. It may also solve the hiding keyboard cause I haven't a problem with the market version.
The only downside I've found is that Maps doesn't appear to be intregreted very well with the stock browser. Usually I'll get a pop-up asking to open the link with the actual Google Map app which is easier to use on a mobile.
LG G2x - 2.3.5 MIUI Love
Asus TF - Custom 3.2

Whitehawks is great, never tried jumaaneface.

If you're a Wind user in Canada you cannot use whitehawkx MIUI because data does not work. You have to use face MIUI.

Switching back to CM7. MIUI is pretty terrible in my opinion.

miui 1.9.9
whitehawk version 1.9.9

Was using miui 1.9.2 and it ran great with minor issues like my led home lights would shut off and the only way to get them back was from the led setting or reboot. Sometimes my phone would just turn off thinking it was asleep but was actually off. I would have to pull the battery out to turn it back on. I downloaded 1.9.9 but haven't tried yet using weapon g2x 2.5 and so far everything is running smooth with no issues. I had to uninstall tw launcher cause it was force closing now everything is great.

[Q] I've searched for days for a fast, stable, sense-ui like rom...

OK, I've searched for days to try and find a fast, stable, sense-ui (Theme-wise) ROM that works on the HTC Hero. I've found tons of ROMS for the G1, I've tried the CyangenMod 6 ROM, I've spent hours searching for a good ROM. CM6 is a bit faster, but occasionally it will hang. (A bit better than stock 2.1) I don't like that a lot of apps don't work (After downloading an app and installing it, you can't click open or find it in your apps list) and I don't like that the fact that you can't group your contacts or have the Sprint/HTC widgets work. (The only widgets I use are the clock and the email, messages, and voice mail widgets that show how many you received.
Please let me know if you use one like that you can recommend.

For a good sense UI rom I would go with Zen rom. You can find it here.
I've been using this rom NFX-Hero 2.2.1 by nfinitefx45. After playing with other roms and the cyanogen ones, i've come back to this one. I've been running this for a couple weeks and it's pretty smooth and stable. So give it a try. Also, nfinitefx45 is one dedicated developer, he actually visits the thread often and help with answering questions, solving problems/bugs!

+1 nfinite's roms are put together well and are fast yet also solid.
I'm using the cyanogen rom. CM6. It's actually running android 2.2 (froyo) instead of 2.1, and I think it has a better keyboard and runs very well. I use the "digital clock widget", and the weather and "news and weather" widget, I think both are available in the Market, but News and weather came with the rom. I miss the bookmarks and calendar widgets from Sense, but its not worth going back. As far as voicmail goes I'm using google voice to handle my it, and there are widgets for it too.

I use CM6 as well, and prefer it over any sense rom but the OP wanted sense so I thought I'd humor myself
The CM6 with CyanogenSense theme looks and feels like my stock Hero, but runs way faster and has a better battery life. Zen makes a great rom, bit imo the CM6 is the way to go.

I've decided to try making a theme using the tutorial thread number 667951. (I can't post links yet I don't think, so again I'll just use this work around.) That being said, I've decided to stick with NFX-HERO for my ROM since the only thing wrong with it is the boot loop issue which I'm going to try starting from scratch to fix it today. So, the tutorial says that a good starting point for a theme would be to get an existing compatible theme and modify that one. (Great idea in my opinion. I've done this in the past with other phones I had.) Does anyone have an idea of a theme that would be useful for me to start off with? I want to change a lot of things on the phone, so the more intricate the theme is, probably the better.
Also, on a side note, if I remember correctly this thread had 3 pages before the site went down. I'm not sure why it was truncated. If any mods know why, please let me know.

We lost about 2 days posts when the site crashed
i used a theme called blue echo to learn where most things go. and in his rom there is a great vending apk that has the market themed as well. then i took a dialer from one of godzen's and moved it all to compare to my stock 2.1 files and made it work with a rom i am currently running. im just now getting into looking at the apps like clock etc but that was a good start for me since there is alot covered there.
OK, let me ask you this. It'll clear up some things I need to know on compatibility. What makes a theme compatible with one ROM and not another? Likewise, what makes an app compatible with one ROM and not another? Is it the structure? If so, how? I'm a computer programmer, but even though android phones are quite similar to a Linux system on a PC, I'm still not sure if I understand the compatibility issues behind themes.
Also, just so I don't have to post again to ask this in case it's relevant, are Blue Echo and GodZen's dialer compatible with NFX? I downloaded them, but it never said anything about NFX. Is NFX similar to Sprint's 2.1 in the sense that it will run any themes I make for NFX?
well the Rom im using is mostly stock so the framework and htc.resource files are the same. for say CM6 (and i havent looked into it just a example) may have say the status bar grey and i want black. in the stock i would change the statusbar_bkg file in the framework.apk folder but in CM6 it may be in the same plae with a different name or the same name in a different place or just non existent all together. as for if they are compatible the only way to know is to try. the only way to know for sure is to open them compare and replace what you need in the correct order. also i use metamorph to apply themes. you can find it in the market. but the Vending.apk theme must be pushed with adb for some reason or it will crash the market.
matter of fact now that i think of it, the Rom im using is about to incorporate NFX. go here and you an see my post where i put what i transfereed over and they should work as i think NFX is mostly a stock (so to speak) Rom.

You are using a Hero, right? Not a G1? That would explain the boot loop issue you had with NFX.
NFX-HERO was listed in the Hero ROMs section. You sure it's only for G1? Would another phone's ROM actually even flash to a different phone properly? I mean it works, but with boot loops.
Yes they will but may it may not work. And I'm sure that Rom is for a hero and I would flash over and look for myself but I have been threw like 5 Rom's today and just got it back normal lol.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
OK, so today I had a chance to wipe and flash the NFX-HERO ROM again. Now the phone seems a bit more stable. I can boot it and it boots all the way up fine and I can click "Shutdown Phone" and have it shutdown without freezing and rebooting, but now right now I've spotted only one flaw. When I use the phone in disk drive mode, but then pull the USB out of the phone without switching it back to charge only, and it freezes and reboots on me. (This happened last time.) I've also noticed that the phone gets increasingly more unstable as time goes on, so I wouldn't doubt that it would do this even more later on.
Correction, no matter what I do, to remove the USB when I use it as a disk drive, the phone freezes and reboots.
Update again: I decided to use RegawMod instead. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=661991) It's super fast, no bugs from what I can see, highly compatible, and it looks slick! I even used a mod to turn my dialer pink. lol I can see this being my ROM of choice for a long time. The only thing I didn't like was that it was lacking the Google Navigation tools, so I installed GoogleApps.apk (If you're looking for this file, just Google GoogleApps.apk) from another ROM and rebooted me phone (So it would show up) and then it worked just fine. I'm not sure why it isn't showing local listings for destinations first, but that may be just because it didn't catch the GPS location right off the bat. I did set my location settings to being shared.
There is a pink theme in 2.1 catalog if i remember right. If you like pink that might be a good start for you to move the files around to see how they are built.

Yeah, NFX is a Hero ROM, I was asking if you were trying to flash it on a G1, because if you were, it wouldn't work.
I like Regawmod 2.1. Fast with a nice dark theme. Based off of damage control. Just my two cents.

MIUI ROM, My impressions.

So after running pretty much all the roms available for the XT720, I have to say the new MIUI rom beats them all. I came from dexters froyo 1.3 with bug patch. And for some odd reason it was extremely slow and laggy for me. Even with autokiller optimizer id start out with 60 MB free memory and slowly after some use itd come down to 19-20 mb. Anyways this is how I feel about the new MIUI ROM.
MIUI BETA 4:
This has got to be the fastest ROM ever. I had gotten used to using the laggy XT720 and hating it in the process but whoa am I amazed at how fast this one is. You can just fly through applications and menu's without lag. No lag when you open the keyboard, and the most annoying for me was how the keyboard would lag while using haptic feedback which I love. Dont be put off by the theme in the start everything from the boot screen, to the lock screen can be changed using the theme manager. Theres also a bunch of extra functionality. Like for eg flip to stop active ring, if you pick up the phone while its ringing the ringer volumes goes down. Contacts can be divided into groups, favourite messages etc.
The only draw back with this ROM were if you set up swap it seems to drain the battery really quick. like 10 % / 2.5 hours. I use milestone overclock at 56 vsel 1 Ghz and its pretty stable. I love this ROM and whats been put into it. Waiting for the camera app, HDMI out and other little tweaks here and there to be complete. Thanks Khal!
well I run bluesteel Tom. I have modified it some startup 65+memory avg running memory is between 75 to 90 I only know overclock to 800.
Very fast system no lag at all.

I would like to see your list of removed system apps dude..... Bluesteel was like all the other dxter based froyo for me.. works great with memory management for a few days, then slowly memory reduces down to the 19 to 21mb range & performance goes in the crapper.
Can someone explain in detail how I can install Minimod? I know how to install OR but not Minimod.

F*ck MIUI! I really hate this ROM. Every time I see my phone with MIUI it makes me wanna trow it. It looks UGLY by every mean!
Despide MIUI is stable and fast, I think that if you clean BlueSteal v4 it's better. I have better quadrant benchmark resoults too. 1497 with MIUI and 1601 (personal record) with BlueSteal. I start with around 70 free ram on BS and after all widget start (a few, not much) and I use it a little bit it goes down to 45-50, but it's enough. ROM is very stable and responsive. With fj kernal I stay on 60-65 free all the time.

I am interested to see this too. 3rdstring has a list going, but always nice to see another pov. I have same doggish problems too. To the point I am considering 2.1 for awile. Pulling low 1200's in quadrant, but don't take too much stock in that if everything is lagging.

I always just adb push the ubuntu font onto my rom and then change the themes. With MIUI its much easier. Have you ever used a phone with stock MIUI it is on of the most responsive devices ever. I have always had problems with dexters based ROM's. If you have any tricks up your sleeve please share.

If memory got dumped just:
Running services --> Stop!
If doesn't help, Manage Applications --> Force stop!
I don't use Advance task killer, it just dones't work...
Also keep it low on widgets!
Programs running all the time : WidgetLocker, BobD3 Clock, SystemInfo Widget, SwitchPro Widget, SetCPU, Fancy Widget, BattStatt, Launcher Pro Plus twitter and ALYac antivirus real-time scan...
The way I install my ROMs is:
1. Always Flash to stock 2.1 true RSD --> Factory reset!
2. Install Dexter Froyo -> wipe dalvik-cache/Wipe Data/ Facrory reset/ wipe Cache
3. Delete SD card craps from Dexter Froyo --> Factory reset (just in any case)
4. Install Khal's BlueStealEpicv4 -->wipe dalvik-cache/Wipe Data/ Facrory reset/ wipe cache
5. Factory reset (just in any case)
6. Delete - Talk, LatinIMEtutorial, Facebook,Tweetdeck,... etc.
P.S. I always reformat and repartition my SD card Fat32/ext3/swap(for any case )
It my seem too much, but it works for me.

Hi eSu.Matix,
i'm currently running the steelepicblue as well, it's way nicer than MIUI..I cleaned almost all the system apps and my available RAM is now always between 50 and 70 MB, however, i've never been able to reach that Quadrant score...
What tweaks did you apply? Thank you very much in advance!
Hi,
I love the Miui Rom for :
1. Lot of setting option posibility in Setting page.
2. Like the Toggle bar IN STATUS BAR (FULL SIZE <->) you can scroll left and right. (must have), Its easy to read and have 90% toggle icon we need.
3. Like how easy is to modify or change and customizing theme.
what i dont like is:
The rom is not fully compatible with our XT720
This rom contain some bug for XT720.
Camera have some bug and low resolution env 5meg, HDMI not working at all, VPN dosen't work on my XT720 ON VIDEOTRON NETWORK.
But even that, i have difficulty to leave away. i realy love and need the toggle bar INSIDE the notification bar.
It's is possible to have TOGGLE BAR IN STATUS BAR in other rom
like MIUI, full size <-> , scrolling, good look, easy to toggle etc.
but i realy dont like the LOOK OF toggleBar that use some rom like V4 rom GalaxyXT version

After using miui...

After using miui I can't go back to any other. The features and functionality of this ROM is just beyond what I ever thought would be possible in an android device.
Their slogan is "Redefining Android" and they surely are.
I was on the fence if I should try this ROM or not since Weapon was pretty awesome too , but after trying this one I'm not looking back.
Thanks goes to Whitehawkx, Segnaro, Jface for making this happen.
****Note****: if themes are not working for you is because you need to go to /data/system and create a folder called theme.

Let's post the functionality that this ROM has for those that aren't sure what "we" are talking about.
I will post what I remember and then If you guys remember any other feature post it, then I'll update this post with the feature you posted.
Themes - can be downloaded directly from ROM and apply within the ROM. You can theme things separately like the dialer, status bar, toggles, icons, lock screens, messaging app, etc. You can dip all this with the theme manager engine they use. Ability to change fonts within ROM without restarting phone.
Features -
Dialer - record calls and take notes within the dialer during a call. Two big features I always wanted.
Dialer also works as a T9 keyboard
Browser - scroll up and down with volume rockers (pretty cool), hitting the back button actually goes back, not like other browsers.
Screenshots - by pressing menu+ vol down
Settings - Redesigned setting menu with added features and tabs to categorize each setting menu.
Ability to track data usage
Integrated app killer and app manger by long pressing the home key also by long pressing the back key, closes the app completely.
Lock screen - hold down home button will turn on torch
Toggles - when long pressing a toggle, it will open that toggle setting screen.
Camera - added features like Sutter control, zoom in screen, adjustable brightness on screen, touch to focus and redesigned camera skin.
A whole bunch more that I'm sure I'm forgetting or don't know about.
Keep posting features below!

Dude I totally agree, this rom is just amazing it pretty much uses the same kernel As cm so u know the speed is there, it actually feels a little more fluid. And on any other rom when u go to change the lockscreen or even launcher, u have to do a little , "work" and u have to be a little tech savvy for that part, but with miui they make it so damn easy someone coming from the razor could do it LOL , and there is so much options to choose from, **** sitting on latest kernel source, voodoo, and some badass 3d animations, very cool rom oh and moshe22 when u hit back with the browser it actually goes back a page u don't have to hit it a zillion times, the volume scroll is badass

Is this the miui Tom 1.8.5 all of you are using?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I used MIUI on my G2 or vibrant, can't quite remember. I liked it a lot, but the battery life was so poor I couldn't stick with it. How is it on our phones? I don't need 15 or 20 hours or anything, but wouldn't mind something decent.
Also, are there different ports of MIUI for our phone? If so, are they all pretty much the same? Thinking I'm gonna give MIUI another shot, but want to use the version available that will leave the best taste in my mouth.

What do you wipe?
The way I do it is: Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, /system and then flash ROM, fix permission and the enjoy
Sent From My G2x Running MIUI
yeah I wipe dalvic cache, cache, system.. multiple times just for safety, but i havnt fixed permisions.. i will search out 1.8.12 and give it a shot
Been running Miui since last August/September, whenever it was ported to Evo. Sans CM its by far the fastest, smoothest, most stable rom out there. I haven't seen any reason to switch since it was released for G2x. I'm still on 1.7.26, and dont feel the need to upgrade. Thats how good Miui is.
On my G1 I was flashing roms every day. Moved to Evo/NS and flashed once or twice a week.
On my G2x? I think I've flashed mayyybe 4 roms since 4/20. Why? Cause anything LG touches turns to poop. No offense to all the bomb devs, but CM/Miui are the only things worth running on this phone. I dont get why anyone even wants to run a stockish build when CM/Miui are so much better in every single aspect.

Whitehawkx actually specifically requested that it not be linked anywhere other than the forum it's listed in. just google whitehawkx miui and you should find it easily. I'd post the forum name but I don't want any mods here getting pissed off.

Also the keyboard closes just randomly... very weird. I love this rom too so far but this issue sucks..

[Q] If I install a new kernel?

Hey guys!
I have a rooted Samsung Infuse (AT&T) and I managed to flash it to Infused v2.2.3.
In my settings it tells me my kernel version is 2.6.35.7-I997RUXKG3-CL366622.
I have a couple of questions. <-- N00b
First, if I install/flash a new kernel will all my information get deleted like a wipe?
Second, is the kernel I have the stock kernel or no?
Third, which kernel could I flash/use to improve battery life and/or work well with Infused?
I kind of shot myself in the foot when I flashed to Infused because I only made a Titanium Backup of my info and didn't know I would lose all my texts/notepad notes/ recent contacts/ etc.
If I flash back to stock and restore the Titanium Backup will all of those things be back?
Thank you for the responses in advance.

Kernels won't wipe data.
Infused has a mildly customized kernel - I think it's using LinuxBozo's Hellraiser kernel in newer versions. It's not stock.
Any Gingerbread kernel can be used with Infuse - my Daily Driver, bedwa's Infusion, etc. If you undervolt with mine you might see some SMALL improvements in battery life - the settings I use drop the CPU core power usage by 5-10% at most though, and don't drop anything else.
As to the backups:
Calls and text can be backed up by SMS Backup and Restore and Call Logs Backup and Restore by Ritesh Sahu (on the Market)
If you go back to stock, you MIGHT be able to restore the lost info and then back it up in a more portable way. Normally you only want to restore missing apps and data in TiBu, but if you go back to the EXACT ROM (in your case stock) that you backed up from, you might be able to restore system data without breaking stuff.
Entropy, thanks so much man!
That pretty much answers all of my questions perfectly.
The whole process seemed like it would go over my head at first with all the abbreviations and stuff, so this is a breath of fresh air to know that it's not as complicated as it seems and there's helpful people like you around.
Couple of more questions, while I've got your ears, if you don't mind.
I read a little bit about 99 Tweaks and more or less get the installation process.
Do YOU approve or see it as useful/working?
Also, where could I find more info on Cyanogen 7 Mod that you have on YOUR Infuse?
I'd like to see what that looks like and find out how to install it to see if I like that or Infused better.
One of the big reasons is that I'm not sure if it's my battery that's just bad, but if I used my phone moderately during the day (when it was on stock software) the battery would be down to like 30 percent or lower by like 1 or 2 P.M.
But also I'm not too fond of the fact that I can't add an email option to the dock in the Infused rom...it only gives me Phone, App, and Internet icons on the dock.

Go to the Applications, press menu, view type (or something) customizable grid. Stay in applications, press menu, press edit, move icons to/from dock. I keep it in Alphabetical when I'm not moving things from the dock though.
From XDA App on Infused v2.2.3 OCed to 1.6 GHz
Hmmm..thanks JWL but for some reason I don't have that edit option when I go into the Applications screen...
Checked all over and can't find anywhere to customize the dock..
Including a picture to show the bottom..excuse the off colors I think the screenshot app messed it up.
It depends on which Launcher you use on whether or not you can edit the Dock. From the look of it, the dock that you are using is not editable.
But you have a total of five screens that yu can put your shortcuts/widgts on. Tapping one of those small dots next to the dock brings you to another window. From there go to your apps and press and hold an icon to move it to that window.
Try Launcher Pro from the Market. It will allow you to edit the dock as well as giving you a scrollable dock that adds extra pages.
Or go in to System/manage apps. Click all at the top. Look for Launcher, they'll be at least two. Touch to open, in Launch by default "Clear Defaults" is highlighted, touch it to clear the default.
Now back out and once you're at your home screen, touch the Home Button. This should bring up at least three different launchers to choose from.
Hey, thanks Glenn!
I'm aware that I can use the other screens to put shortcuts, I was just used to the stock Froyo software that allowed me 4 dock spaces.
And what's this launcher you speak of?
I haven't seen much mention of this and not quite sure what it is/does?
I think that when I first installed Infusion it kept giving me the option between Launcher and TWLauncher until I made Launcher default...
[Edit] - Nevermind Glenn, I got it just the way you told me.
Looks like regular Launcher gives me that 3 dock Home page while the TW Launcher gives me back the 4 dock customizable one...Thank you very much for this info.
Sorry for double post, but Glenn you're a life saver!
Launcher Pro was exactly what I needed... scrollable and customizable dock is amazing and exactly what I needed.
My one last question is if I should remain with the Infused kernel or should I flash to Entropy's?
If I just flash to Entropy's and leave as is will I notice any improvement in anything?
Download sgs kernel flasher from the market..... This will easily allow you to flash different kernels back and forth.
First make a backup of your current kernel.
Download whatever kernel you want to try then go back to sgs kernel flasher and choose the kernel you downloaded.
Try a couple of different ones out and see which one works best for you.
I use bedwa's GB kernel.... Though I'm overclocked to 1.6ghz and still get great life, you can keep it at 1.2 and get even better.
I have also heard good things about Entropy's daily driver, so give that one a whirl too...
Sent from my Samsung Infuse 4G - 1.6ghz
What SSJ_Gomike said. I was using CWM-infused-v2.0.1-kernel, but just switched to Entropy's daily driver just to see which my phone likes the best. I also like to have a boot animation which the CWM didn't seem to have.
Planning on trying bedwa's GB kernel next.
You can keep these in your download folder and as SSJ_Gomike said, use sgs kernel flasher to easily switch between them.
Alright, first of all, I'd like to thank you guys for the tremendous amount of support.
I successfully installed Entropy's daily driver kernel and I must say that my phone is running ultra fast
and I really appreciate the fact that the battery charges a lot faster.
The only thing that gets me is that I didn't charge my phone overnight and it went from 100 percent to 77 by the time I woke up.
Any thoughts?

[ROM] BakaG2X 2011-11-20 (FINAL RELEASE (maybe not)) [2.3.3]

BakaG2X 2011-11-20 (Final 2.3.3 Version - OR IS IT?)
---------
NOTE:
--
Here is a pretty clean and basic ROM based on the LG 2.3.3 OTA.
It is designed for those who want a good clean base to do their OWN addons to, while removing more bloat than was added.
This is the FINAL release of BakaG2X on 2.3.3. I will also release a 2.3.4 ROM, but it will be offered separately.
WiFi Calling is included as T-Mobile's signal is horrible. Thank you.
UPDATE NOTES:
This version cleans up a few things in the theme primarily, and sets a couple of tweaks that weren't done before. Not a big change over the previous version. The only build available comes with Wifi Calling. If you don't WANT wifi calling, you can simply remove Kineto.apk from the /system/app folder, and I recommend doing so if you don't use it.
The biggest theme change can be seen on the notification pulldown here, and I've updated that screenshot.
As before, bloat is available in the various bloat packs. If you have downloaded these before, you don't need to download them again, there have been no changes to those packs.
---------
CORE BUILD FEATURES:
11/20 - ICS Animations (capez) - tweaked animation speeds
11/20 - Remove Battery Full & Battery Low Warnings but I LEFT the last Shutdown Warning..
11/20 - init.rc support
11/20 - Increased SD Read Ahead Cache to 3072
11/20 - zipalign new apk's on bootup
11/20 - new quick panel icons from O2X (smaller / textless)
11/20 - shell utils: bash/nano/sysrw/sysro (if you don't know don't ask)
11/20 - a few theme tweaks (notification ticker, carrier text, etc)
11/17 - Three Flashable "Bloat" packs. You probably want at least one. SEE BELOW.
11/17 - Google Talk with Video
11/17 - Google Music (replaces stock Music.apk)
11/17 - Toggle 2G Settings & Widget (TheMasterBaron)
11/17 - Updated Google Apps as of 11-17.
11/17 - busybox & su binaries updated.
Reboot/Recovery Menu (untermensch / sicopat)
Quick Panel Settings (dreamsforgotten)
Accurate Battery Mod
Removed LG Update process (was running all the time using ~10-20mb)
Updated Google Apps as of 11/15
CM7 Apps: Torch, E-Mail, Keyboard, Calculator, Sound Recorder
GPS Tweaks for USA. SuplRootCert added.
Misc build.prop edits (for gps/modversion/adb persist notify off)
Adblock Host file.
Theme bits (startup/shutdown/Roboto font/CRT Off/Lockscreen, etc)
Of course it is fully zipaligned.
Note: All Bloat Packs install to user applications, so you can uninstall bits you don't want.
- This of course means you'd need to reflash Bloat packs if you happen to wipe.
BLOAT PACK 1: Recommended Bloat
Titanium Backup Free (it will detect if you have Pro key saved on SD)
MIUI Music
CM7 File Manager
Battery Calibration Tool
Wallpapers / Ringtones installed to SD for easy removal.
BLOAT PACK 2: Bloat T-Mobile Thinks You Want
AppPack, Books, T-Mobile-TV, Polaris Office, My Account,
Magic Smoke LWP, Visualizations LWP, Telenav, Zinio
Tegra Zone, NFS Shift, Nova.
Bloat Pack 3: Something I want and you probably don't.
Japanese Samsung iWnnIME Keyboard
KNOWN ISSUES - BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN NO SURPRISES
- Bluetooth may crash upon pairing. This is fixed in my 2.3.4 Rom, Tsugi.
- Kernels: I have tried both Faux123 and DragonG2X. They boot & Run, but have their own known issues. Cannot support them.
- Lockscreen lag. This is an issue with any LG based ROM. Some report it doesn't happen if you use certain 3rd party launchers.
- Toggle2G will ask for root permissions on bootup, and be denied automatically. You'll see a popup about that that goes away on its own. If you want to use the app, just open it manually and it will bring up the normal SuperUser prompt where you can approve superuser permissions.
- Stock Camera. If you want LG-Cam, you know how to get it.
- On the FIRST BOOT, the Media process will sometimes FC. It does not do this AFTER the first boot, and it doesn't always do it.

Looks legit, seems like you've got all the bases covered.
I'd like to try it this weekend, give you some feedback.
And thanks for the little tidbits of info, didn't know Wifi Calling sucked up battery even when not in use.

It was horrible on my Vibrant. I think it has improved on the G2X, but still not perfect. It receives notifications on all signal changes, even if you don't have it set up to use. I'm not sure if it does that if you're not on T-Mobile... best to remove the APK if you're not using it.
Going to give it a try
Good to see a new dev on here. I'm going to back up my rom and give this a shot. Will post results.

When you say won't install - what happens?
In CWM it says "Installation Aborted" right after I try to start the install. I redownloaded a third time from another site using Firefox instead of Chrome and it worked. I like what I see so far! Thanks.

Its not the animation. I see that. Pretty cool. But the home screen comes on, then flashes black, then comes on again. Only happens on the home screen, no other screen. Oddly enough, when turn animations off it does not do it. But I run "some animation" and you did nice work yours. Hate to waste it. so far everything is very smooth and noticeably faster than im used to.

Ahh, the homescreen lag. Yeah, I've seen that on a number of stock-based Roms.. something is up with LG's code. I've seen it go away and then come back, no idea what causes it. Doesn't happen on Cm7/MIUI roms. But, I need everything to work, so I don't use those.

no rom that isn't based on cm7, will be able to run theme chooser.
Wow awesome rom!
A version of this based on 2.3.4 without wi-fi calling would be the perfect rom though. Please consider?
no kernel for 2.3.4 and he said you can uninstall wifi calling, if u dont need it.
Hey, thanks for answering my question directed at someone else!!
The reason I asked is because the base 2.3.4 is much faster and more stable and has gtalk video.
