[Q] volume rocker options - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

Hi everyone, I'm currently running clean rom 3.0 de and was wondering if there was a way to skip to the next track using the volume rockers when the screen is off? Also I would like to use the volume rockers as the camera shutter. These were things that I have grown a custom to when I was running CM7 on my nexus one.
Thanks for your feedback

I dont think this is built in to cleanrom right now, but it would be worth mentioning to the dev if you really want it. I know there are some settings like this in most of the AOSP based roms (CM9, AOKP, miui) but I am not sure of specifics

[Q] Question: Change Music Track with the Volume Button?

I had a G2 before I had the mytouch 4g slide and I used to be able to change to the next song holding down the Up volume button. I can't do that with the slide, my slide is root and is running the Virtuous rom. Anyone know anything about it?
-thanks
Was your G2 also running Virtuous?
I think (not 100% sure) but the volume up/down music control is a feature that must be implemented into the ROM itself, ie. CM7/MIUI. Sense 3.0 doesn't have that built-in I believe.

I had cm7 on it, never tried it with virtuous though. So im guessing you need the source code to change a simple button function huh -__-...the wait is killing me haha this phone can do a whole lots more!

[Q] Long pressing menu key doesn't bring out keyboard?

Hi. I recently installed an app called GameKeyboard that would replace the Android keyboard with a D-Pad and configurable buttons so I could play flash games made for PC. However, I was noticing that when I was in the game, holding down the menu key wouldn't pull it out. Then I switched back to the normal Android keyboard, and that doesn't appear when I long hold menu either.
My dad has a ZTE Blade and it pulls out the current keyboard selected when holding down menus, so is there an option somewhere that allows me to turn that functionality on or off, or is this just downright disabled in our devices?
Thanks for your time.
Depends which rom you are running I've noticed. Cm7 does it and has the option to enable/disable actions for software buttons. I can't remember about some of the stock based roms

Doesn't work on 2.3.3 or 2.3.4. Only seems to work on CM7 and MIUI builds.

rom control is force closing due to the fact you used many cm implemnetations?i red times ago that using rom control of aokp on roms with cm part (like you do,lockscreen ,performace tab etc)can fc's romcontrol and is hard to have both..i remenber right?
Yes you're right, the aokp stuff doesn't fit in right with the cm settings, since aokp does so much more than cm, I'll probably use aokp settings w/ ROM control insted next time, and that would probably get the theme manager/chooser working

ROM Control or similar is a complete deal breaker for me with Galaxy Nexus and nexus 7 Roms. If there isnt some control over the ROM i.e NAV Bar tweaks and Toggle tweaks, I cant enjoy the ROM. Basically Im stuck with AOKP, Codename Android and a few others. At this point in time with these Nexus devices out now for a few months we should be getting some top notch ROms
I hear ya there

[Q] Long-Press Button Customization

Hi All,
Currently i'm on LiquidSmooth (2.2 iirc) solely for the ability to fully customize the long-press action on my buttons. I'd love to try some more ROMs (nothing against Liquid, just like flashing ;p) but am simply not willing to give up this ability.
Any tips/apps/etc people can recommend to add this functionality? I poked around and didn't see anything, but feel free to troll me if i missed something obvious
Not sure what you're asking but Slim Bean has long press customization.

CleanRom
I think cleanRom has this too if not you can customize it and yeah never try carbon there is no way to do this stuff on that rom.

Button lights on touchwiz vs aosp.

Hi all,
Just wondering is other people have a similar experience.
I have found that on touchwiz roms, the button lights stay on only when you touch them and not when you are busy touching screen. Aosp roms on the other hand, the lights go on as soon as you touch the screen.
The reason I ask is because on embryo 7, it has started acting like an aosp Rom in this respect and I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to change it without flashing.
Thanks
This makes no sense. The lights come on the same way in tw and aosp roms.
