rom control is force closing due to the fact you used many cm implemnetations?i red times ago that using rom control of aokp on roms with cm part (like you do,lockscreen ,performace tab etc)can fc's romcontrol and is hard to have both..i remenber right?

Yes you're right, the aokp stuff doesn't fit in right with the cm settings, since aokp does so much more than cm, I'll probably use aokp settings w/ ROM control insted next time, and that would probably get the theme manager/chooser working

ROM Control or similar is a complete deal breaker for me with Galaxy Nexus and nexus 7 Roms. If there isnt some control over the ROM i.e NAV Bar tweaks and Toggle tweaks, I cant enjoy the ROM. Basically Im stuck with AOKP, Codename Android and a few others. At this point in time with these Nexus devices out now for a few months we should be getting some top notch ROms

I hear ya there

[Q] AOKP or CM9?

I'm currently using Milestone 6 AOKP on my Skyrocket and it's pretty great. The only thing is, CM9 released a stable RC for the Skyrocket and i'm wondering if it would be better to switch to CM9 than AOKP? Although I know they have their differences, i'm wondering the Pro's and Con's of each ROM if anyone can think of any.
Thanks!
I'm in the same boat

Both are very stable, go with the features you like best.

Aokp is build from cm9. So any feature that cm9 has is pretty much a given in aokp. Aokp has more features added onto it. Personally I prefer aokp. But cm9 is always smooth, fast and simple. The beauty of this is it your choice run em both and decide which you like better:thumbup:

Well the thing is, about AOKP M6, is that it doesn't come with a Music Player, I have to install an app to wake the phone screen for every text. My Messaging always freezes up, randomly shuts off, a whole load of things and I just think i'm going to swap over to CM9 right now to check it out and see how it is.
Oh and also, some of the features on AOKP such as the "Task manager style changing feature" doesn't seem to be anywhere on Milestone 6. Can't find where to actually change the style of it.
Sounds like cm9 is the way to go

I'm highly interested in some opinions also.I'm running sky ics and wanted to try something different

I've settled on CM9 mostly because AOKP has a lot of minor bugs that irritate me, i've reported them but have been ignored. One thing is whenever I lock my screen after texting someone, once I receive a text and unlock the screen, the predictions for the keyboard would not pop up. I'd have to close out of the Messaging app and open it back up which is an annoyance if you text a lot.
Plus, AOKP only releases an update/build every....month. Not willing to wait a month just to fix some minor annoyances when I can switch ROMs and fix it in a day. AOKP is still a great ROM, just not for me.

Which version of CM9 are you on right now? Are there any issues you've encountered so far? I'd be interested to know what your experience as far as performance vs. other custom ROMs is like.

How do you change your Task Manager Style?
And also, i'm on the Release Candidate for the Skyrocket, CM9, and i've encountered no issues thus far. Of course, the screen doesn't light up when a text is received, so it must be ICS related. Other than that, so far so good.
I think I'm going to try cm. Where do you dl latest gapps from?
Edit: Nvm I found it.

I flashed cm9 and aokp.I stuck with cm9 because the data and signal was more stable even though it was the same radio.cm9 doesn't let you customize as much because I think they know what does and doesn't work with there ROM IMO

AOKP has the option to hide whoever sent you a texts name and the message. I wish cm9 had that

How to force top right menu?

I'm used to getting the menu button in the top right, like on the nexus. Is there a hack to force that to come back? I assume it doesn't show because we have the dedicated button.
If your into flashing AOSP ROMs, Paranoid Android has that option. It's a really nice ROM too. Very stable, good battery life, very customizable. I recommend checking it out.

I use that on my Nexus 7 but the TW is so nice that I'm sticking to it for now. I have the clean rom 2.0 on here.

Only possible with Paranoid Android
Well its possible with any AOSP rom, such as cm10 or aokp.

What Do YOU Want In a Rom?

I am thinking of creating a custom Rom for the Verizon Galaxy S III. I am planning of basing it on AOSP, and I know what features I want out of the Rom. I'm posting here so that you can reply with what YOU would want in a Rom so that I can develop it for you
POST DEM REQUESTS!
As many customization options as possible. Def notification background customization. I wish we could get the aokp circles lock screen but with notification rings like on tw ROMs

I was thinking of including most of the AOKP customization options. Are you saying that you want the notification ringtones from touchwiz?
Include codename android features and you'll be loved lol
Jellywiz, plus aokp settings, plus "kinda crap mods" during install, minus as many apps as possible, choice of radio, choice of kernel during install...
Hmm what else, lol
Of course up to date android version, oh and the mms app from aosp with the quick reply in the drop down status would be nice.
I'm sure i could keep going, but you asked

Thanks for your feedback! This will be a jelly bean rom... However, I am planning on making this rom more of a "stock" android rom. I am leaving out touchwiz because in my opinion it makes many things slower and it just feels clunky to me. I will be trying to incorporate features from CyanogenMod, AOKP, CodenameAndroid, and maybe even a few from ParanoidAndroid. Kinda Crap's mods are intended for touchwiz based roms, so I will most likely leave those out, however I may try to include Pimp my Rom's features. When it come's to choice of Kernel, instead of making it a choice during install, I might just post links to the kernel's on the Rom's thread and give detailed instructions on how to flash each one (as well as the optimum setting in my opinion).

Should I update?

I am currently on Cyanogenmod 9, and I am hearing great progress in Cyanogenmod 10 and 10.1 and also the SlimBean 4.2.2. Should I update to these or wait? What is the difference between slimbean and cm? Cm10 or Cm10.1?
4.1 is has pretty much the same stability as ICS. GPS doesn't work though (the GPS on his device is crap so it doesn't really make a difference). WiFi doesn't work on 4.2, so if you're itching the flash a new ROM id go with the pacman ROM which is 4.1.
Slimbean has more customization options than cm.There really isn't even much of a difference between 4.1 and 4.2, I think there's only lock screen widgets, different notification toggles and offline Google now so you're not really missing out
I'd probably wait as those are all Jellybean based but most still have issues whereas CM9 is pretty stable.
CM10 is Jellybean 4.1.2, most things works but still a bit buggy. Probably not a lot more DEV on this as 10.1 should be the new goal.
CM10.1 is Jellybean 4.2.2, a lot less stuff works but getting there.
Slimbean are just a variation of the above, just slimmed down. They take out all the garbage they can to make it run the best and give us the most space. There is a slimbean 4.1.2 and 4.2.2, both have roughly the same problems as the above ones do.
They're getting closer to getting them working though.

I don't care much for the GPS, it's just that they say that 4G reboots so you have to be on 2G speeds, and 2G is very slow. WiFi doesn't work either. So this makes the phone very internet-less.

The 4G thing was like 10 versions ago of JB. Works fine now in the latest. Wifi works in CM10/Slimbean 4.1.2, just not the latest but hopefully soon. I've been running the Xperia Slimbean 4.1.2 for the past 3-4 days as my daily usage with no issues.

So there is SlimBean that's like CM but a little more, then there are more SlimBeans that are based off the original SlimBean?!

I don't want an GS3 themed phone with all those features it comes with.

Seems like you do care but whatever ultragen is still the fastest out atm and for all those features your talking about i have no clue because ultragen is pretty basic when you compare it to other roms. It only takes moments to make any rom look how you want. It's all about feel and ultragen feels the best imo

Took only 5 mins to make ultragen look completely different. While still being the fastest

I just said I don't care for theme, and how do you know this ROM is the "fastest"?
Easily is the fastest and i know this from personal experience flashing every ROM xda has for this phone. Everyone cares about themes unless you like stock cm9 which is still a theme that can be applied to ultragen so it looking like sg 3 means nothing. Ultragen also can have one of the best battery lifes if you prefer that over performance.

The settings window looks like CM if that's what you mean. Themes only change the look, not the actual functionality.

Which ROMs have network speed in the status bar? or how to implement it?

I know PAC man and beans tw ROM have this feature. Pacman 4.3 had it and beans v19. I would have swore that I saw another aosp ROM with it but can't remember the name. I liked pacman but the layout of everything is way different than what I'm used to and it has a Tom of features I don't use at all. Slim has been my favorite but lacks this one feature. Does any one know of other ROMs that show network speed in the status bar?
Thanks oh and I realize there are a Tom of apps that do something very similar but having it in the status bar just makes sense to me. Most apps I tried don't put it in the status bar or the text is too small. Perfect system monitor works great and mini network monitor but again I'd like it to be part of the ROM.

Does anyone know how I can add it to a 4.3 ROM without it?
So far...
JellyBeans 19
Beanstalk - has both up and doen - I couldn't read them well with my old eyes.
PacMan
Carbon
Wen u say signall speed u mean speed measure in kb or mb?? And have u tired looking for modules for it instead of roms?? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541
