I have a Sony Ericsson Experia X8 mobile phone. Recently I was sent a rather lovely photo in a text message but I cannot for the life of me see how to transfer it from the text to my phone memory so that I can upload it to my pooter.
I tried linking to my pc to copy all pictures but there is no access to text messages from the pc
I wondered about forwarding the text or picture to my e-mail address but I can't see an option for that
If I press the menu button while looking at the text my options are...
add subject
add recipient
delete conversation
edit recipients
so no help there
If I tap on the picture it takes it out of the text but my only options are to use picture as...
contact picture
wallpaper
I've tried saving the photo using both those options but neither places the photo in the album. without it being in the phone's album I can't swap it to my pc
Anybody got any ideas?

Simply take the contacts photo and change the resolution to 640x480 then move it to your Fuze and change the contact's photo and you're set. No more blurry photos. Check it out: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=920
You don't even need to resize the photos, just use the original resolution and change the contact pic from within TF3D.
If you set it using the contacts app, then they appear blurry in TF3D, but if you set it from within the menu in TF3D, then they won't be blurry.
you're right...it's a huge difference.
Awesome! Thanks
I believe if you use Album or S2V to set a picture to a contact, it also gives a clear contact pic.
How do you get the photos to show up? I had photos showing but now the contact screen just shows "add favorite". Is there some setting to change?
someone should come up with a simpler way to do this.. like automatically from a computer with ur old photos.
hallow all
i have an htc diamond 2 , only problem is on sms massages , text is too small and difficult to read, any ideas on how to make text letters on sms bigger???
thanks
Hi!
1) Slide touchflo to the settings tab (the last one)
2) Press the left soft button that should say something like all settings (or maybe "more", I don't have a WWE ROM so I really don't know what the button label is). This will bring up the regular windows mobile settings dialog.
3) Select the screen or display icon
4) In the screen dialog select the last tab at the bottom, I should say something like text size
5) Slide the text size slider to desired value
6) You may have to soft reset the device for the changes to be effective

Edited the thread title for a little more clarity.
Also, have you tried sliding your finger on the zoom bar? I know the original Diamond supports zooming SMS text with the capacitive area.

thank you very much for your advice, i have try all but unfortunately nothinkg works, on received sms text still too small, any ideas ? or any program that might fix this?
Thanks
Hi!
Could you please provide some more information regarding how you actually reads your messages. There are at least 3 different places to read a SMS
1) The touchflo SMS tab
2) The touchflo contact SMS tab
3) The regular windows mobile messages application
The suggested solutions mentioned so far only changes the font size in the regular windows mobile messages application (alternative 3). I think the font size in the touchflo interface is hard coded by HTC, and is not changeable without decompiling the touchflo script files and changes the values. This is not something you wants to do, I guess there are only a couple of people in this entire forum capable of performing that task.

ok , nice question , now we getting somewhere , on regular windows sms i can read the text size which i have selected on my system - screen -text size, but needs for someone to play around with a couple of buttons to be able to see that text, also is not that user friendly , (for me at least).
now on the other two cases touchflo sms tabs and touchflo contact sms the text is very small. the last two cases i find it friendly and easy to use and navigate around your sms history with that person.
Thanks a lot.
Regarding SMS editing
DO you know how to solve the problem of the textbox size (to small, you can see only one or 2 lines) when editing an sms from the sms list view ? (e.g. when you want to reply on the same windows where you read the received sms).
Thanks
On WM6.1
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\RichEditHostFontFace
That's only the text box that you type in, not the window that displays the messages. If anyone know the messages one, let me know
In settings there is a setting where you change the text size. Make that bigger and SMS will be bigger..
Team,
I am looking for some real help here.
I have a (Vodafone) HTC Touch Pro and have been using this for the last 6 months. I have a condition where my sight is at a fixed focal length. Reading SMS and EMails on this phone is very difficult for me and, at times, impossible. I use glasses but do not carry them with me at all times.
Does anyone know of a way that I can increase the size of the text on SMSs, emails and other areas of the phone? Here is what I have done over the last few months with no luck:
System Text - Basic
I have set the system font size to the biggest available through:
Settings -> System -> Screen -> Text Size -> Largest
I have also ensured that the Sensor Wheel is working when viewing texts by moving this clockwise - the text is at its largest.
This is still too small for me. :-(
Software
I tried using the AdvancedConfigurationTool from http://www.touchxperience.com/
Still no luck there.
I also changed the theme in the hope that I would be able to increase or change the text size - nope.
Finally I used a bit of software that allows the system fonts to be changed, even adding new fonts to the interface (sorry, can't find link). While this updated all text sizes the SMS text remained the same size.
Does anyone think this is the Vodafone branding preventing me from changing the font size? I would not like to invalidate the warranty at this point.
I like the phone but I am really finding it difficult to use as normal. Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers,
Ricemonk
Thought an upload of what the SMS text is like would help:
I know this may look perfectly normal to almost all users however when on the HTC Touch Pro screen this is much smaller and difficult for me to read.
Open up Messaging and select a Mail Account. Then click on an email to view. From there, go to Menu -> View -> Text Size and select whatever size you want.
This action also effects all other txt in Both Mails & SMS.
Thanks for your reply treo927 however this was already set to highest as I changed the system text to the maximum.
It looks like I am destined to move away from the Touch Pro after only 6 months and on to a Blackberry.
ricemonk,
I recently had the opposite problem to you ... the fonts were too large, they were massive in SMS and email. I tried everything to reduce them in the mail settings.
I recall that I managed to fix it with a font setting from IE ... weird I know, but they must be connected. I cant now find exactly what setting I altered, but it was something in internet explorer.
A
adamcullen,
Thanks for your reply - I will take a look and fiddle with the settings and let you know how it goes.
Cheers,
Ricemonk
Ricemonk, try SMS Tweaker http://handheld.softpedia.com/progDownload/SMS-Tweaker-Download-62457.html
It's a free program that lets you set the text message font size in normal mode (not threaded mode) up to 16 points. It looks pretty big to me. I hope it works for you.

Thank you. This has helped me increase my font size. I appreciate it a lot.
First off am running StarDroid 3.2.1 I don't think it's rom related but user related
I have added pictures of 2 people. They do show up in the phone when I edit the contact. They also show up online when I hover over the contacts name. However they won't show up in the people app or the phone dialer when I scroll to them.I get those grey silhouettes. I do however have one picture visible in there as that contact is linked to a google+ account and that person has picture in there profile.
I do have to say searched the forum for this and came up with this path /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/files it does have the thumbnails for the pictures of the google+ people but not of the non google+ people. The pics that are in my gallery are the ones not showing up.
Am I do something wrong? I thought by editing the contact and adding a picture it would show up in the people app and in the dialer. I haven't tested any other functionality of have a picture added to a contact
Also want to add that the pics that I used from the gallery do show up in the people widget when added to a home screem.
Well after google searching and looking on other forums I finally found my answer
"Go to the Linked icon (upper right corner), then press the menu button. It will give you the option to select contact photo. Click it and it will show the photo options."
I then selected the photo cropped it to what I wanted and I was good to go.
RE: GMAIL, HANGOUT, MESSAGES, CONTACTS irritating design decisions
I was using Google Hangouts but am fed up of the way it hides the last message of a thread when the keyboard comes up. If i try and drag the message thread upwards to see what's obscured by the keyboard the keyboard itself then disappears and I'm back to square one.
I've looked briefly at the android default messages app and that's even worse. The valuable screen real estate is eaten up by a left pane when displaying a message thread. Yes you can minimise the pane by dragging left but then you find the messages don't resize to use the screen real estate you've just freed up!
Can anyone recommend a decent messaging app please?
PS Actually the default contacts app does the same, I can't seem to find a way to see a contact, full screen, so a sizeable portion of the screen is taken up by the pane containing a list of your contacts.
PS Also I've just remembered Gmail does the same. When you put your tablet in a landscape position when viewing an email you would expect to see your email full screen. No it squashes your email slightly and gives you an extra pane to view your list of emails without giving you the option to change this.
Does this p|ss anyone else off?
