Simply take the contacts photo and change the resolution to 640x480 then move it to your Fuze and change the contact's photo and you're set. No more blurry photos. Check it out: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=920
You don't even need to resize the photos, just use the original resolution and change the contact pic from within TF3D.
If you set it using the contacts app, then they appear blurry in TF3D, but if you set it from within the menu in TF3D, then they won't be blurry.
you're right...it's a huge difference.
Awesome! Thanks
I believe if you use Album or S2V to set a picture to a contact, it also gives a clear contact pic.
How do you get the photos to show up? I had photos showing but now the contact screen just shows "add favorite". Is there some setting to change?
someone should come up with a simpler way to do this.. like automatically from a computer with ur old photos.

Yes i also would like to know this. What resolution should the pictures be for better appearence??
you have to add the pictures from the people tab for better res
The picture quality in the TF3D "Persons"-Tab ist very low. The pictures i put on the phone for this contacs are in a very good resulution. How is it posible to change this quality?
Hope the other people had the same question an the last post is not realy an answer?!?!?

This has been answered before, I know because it helped me out no end.
1. Add the contact to the favourites tab in TF3D
2. Click the Menu softkey (right softkey) and choose the Change Picture option
3. Simply select the same picture again.
It will now be crystal clear (provided you are using clear pictures to start with)

Thanks mate! It works now.
I just re-imported the favorites pictures through the TF3D interface, and all of the pictures were rescaled to 256 pixels high.
The pictures still have 24 bit color depth.
the best if you prepare pictures 256x256 pixels, 28 pixels/inch resolution, and save them as 24bit RGB .png files. Otherwise it uses internal mechanism to re-scale them, which affects picture quality.
The images that end up on a contact in Outlook using this method thru TF3D are much better quality/resolution than you can attach by using Outlook directly.
Is there a way to attach high quality images like this by using Outlook or some other tool on a PC rather than the phone? i.e. how could I get high quality images like this on my contacts if I didn't have this phone?
Thanks for the answer. Works great!
Does anyone know how i can make the favorite people pictures to look better in the little frames. The pics look good before i assign then to people, then they get all blurry. i know its something to do with the pixels, but does anyone know what software can make these photos look like good digital photos.
There are two ways to add / change the picture. One is in the contacts program (under all persons), where Windows mobile takes over and resizes your 256x256 picture to an unsharp 200x200. The other one is to use the Menu option under the Contacts tab and then "change picture". In this case the size will remain 256x256 resulting in the sharper pictures.
can you explain the steps to get the pictures sharp than blury.. step by step please.

To get higher quality pics on your TF3D favorite's tab:
1) Go to the "People" Tab of TF3D
2) Select a contact
3) Click Menu (right soft key)
3) Select "change picture" or "add picture"
4) Select the contact pic that you would like to use.
5) You now have a non blurry display pic.
The key is to add the pictures through TF3D and not through Pocket Outlook.
Here's a detailed explanation:

appreciate the info, how ever I might already have pre-existing pictures sync'd with my outlook. so if I add the contact it will be blurry... if I do it the way you recommend then I would have to go through 200 contacts and re-create their photos.
any better ideas or am I stuck with it being blurry?

never mind, i am reading about the 480 x 640 resolution.. sounds like a lot of un-necessary work just to have clairity.

You'll have to do them individually as far as i know, or leave them blurry. I have been doing a few at a time. If it's any consolation I've sync'd my contacts several times using my mail2web server, and the higher res pics have remained. I just used TF3D people tab, i didn't resize anything. Added a few people and changed the pics each time i've flashed. Didn't take me too long to get through my 325 contacts at the rate i flash
Thanks for the thread. . I only have a few, but they now look loads nicer.
Can I delete the images now or do they have to remain? I don't want a folder full of TF3D images if I don't have to.
I suppose I could . . DO it and report back.
Okay they seem to remain. . dunno if it'll survive a reboot, but I don't wanna screw with it right now.
i wish somebody could develop an app for this, that could be ran on the computer
If you don't use TF3D, another way to do it is to use the HTC Album. I put all pictures of my friends in a folder and then just went through each image one by one using the 'save to contact' from the menu. It's relatively quick and easy to do.
Side note: One thing I noticed is when I had an image which was exactly 640x480 in size, it didn't sync to Outlook via ActiveSync. It came up with an error message that "The following contacts failed to synchronize from the device". After some fiddling around, it appears that it didn't like the image being 640x480. I reduced the dimensions slightly (e.g. 600x...) and then it worked perfectly. Might come in handy if you get this error...

I am new to the HTC Fuze, about weeks. I have resized the pix to 256 x 256, 640 x 480, 480 x 640 and after the contacts resets the picture is poor quality again. How in gods name do you stabilize this issue. I love the phone but this is pissing me off.
I am no stranger to resizing. I resize in Photoshop...
Thanks in advance...

Where are 'Camera' pictures stored. I looked in My Pctures in both
storage and card. Can it be configured?
I see the picture in camera app but can'r find it
with resco explorer or when attached with explore
(Active Sync).
At the screen that you are taking the picture there must be an icon (I think something like a cogwheel). If you press it you will see a submenu with some tabs. If i remember well at the first tab you will find the choice of where to save your pictures.
PS: Are you sure that when you are taking a picture then you save it? Or at the preview you are just exiting the app?
Is there a way to change the generic picture in your Samsung contact profile against one of yourself?
Thanks,
MG
Open the profile
Click Edit
Click the "-" in the upper right of the stock pic
The camera will open and you can take a selfie, or you can click the pic icon and select one from your gallery
If its stuck like mine was, you have to go into settings. Then at the very top right there should be an icon that looks like your current profile picture, or a silhouette style icon. Click that, then click the icon in the middle that is 'obviously' a spot for a profile picture, and select to either take a photo or choose a picture. You won't be able to use the 'neat' images they have in the contacts app when you try to change it via that route. But hey, at least it changes it all. I can't change my picture from the contacts app for some reason... it just never saves. you click 'save' and nothing happens, and even if you press back and hit 'save' it still doesn't do anything. Sometimes it even degrades the quality of the picture to make it all blocky, but still doesn't actually save anything...
I have a question- I have a mashup of contact pictures and letters on my s9 plus. I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to change all of my contacts pictures according to the theme that I've downloaded. Can that be done? Default contact pics that are theme specific?
When I open the Contacts app on my Galaxy S8+, next to my name is a generic picture of an elk (I think). When I select the contact, I see the same picture at the top of the screen, as well as all of the contact information. When I select EDIT, instead of the picture of the elk, the picture displayed is the picture associated with my Google Gmail account.
Is there any way to change that picture of the elk to a more personal picture?
Thank you.
U edit profile for that contact?
