I finally understood how to root my Inspire to take it over to my pre-paid T-Mobile, but, now, I can't get to the internet via WiFi. I've tried my wifi, as well as other connections around me, with no luck. The only way I can get internet on my phone is if I use the passthrough option. I'm running the stock 2.2 OS with no ROMs. Have I done something wrong...?
Additional Info:
Forgot to mention that I used the ace-hack, Version 11A. Also, I can scan for wifi networks, and I can connect. I have a good signal, and I can login to my router and see the phone listed. The "Mobile network" setting has been disabled since I won't be using data with T-Mobile. I've turned on Airplane Mode and tried to get to the internet that way, and the same thing still happens; I can see the networks, and I can connect, but, I have no data coming in or going out.
Any luck? I just ran through the same version of ace hack 11 and I'm experiencing the same problem. I can connect to any wi-fi with an excellent signal, but can't connect to the internet.

No ): I ran through AceHack11A again for giggles, and, I still have the issue. I'm thinkin' I may have to install the stock AT&T radio, but, from what I understand of it, the radio has nothing to do with wifi.
I'll save you the trouble of installing the stock radio, already tried it. I was able to get things working though... here's basically my chronology of things:
- Did step one of the reverse CID, god the goldcard.img emailed to me, no problems
- Did step 2, downgraded. After the downgrade, I could still use wi-fi at this point without issue.
- Step 3... this is where the wifi internet issue was introduced.
- Connected to the internet with via my PC with USB cable.
- Ran the one of the programs that was installed in step 3: Rom Manager (while connected to the internet). It made me download and install Flash ClockworkMod (all done through the rom manager gui).
- I bought the full version of Rom Manager. I removed the free version that was installed, re-installed the updated free version, then bought the premium rom manager.
- Within ROM manager, clicked on Download ROM and downloaded the CyanogenMod rom (I went with the regular CyanogenMod, not the nightlies version). Installed it, and everything works great.
You can probably tell I'm a total newb to android, hence the annoyingly detailed description of what I did. Give it a go, maybe it will work for you?
same problem here, after root
update:
Ok, I fixed installing a stock ROM from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058042
Probably the problem has to be something with Rom Manager (is not present in the stock rom), I didn't check it anyway.
I have the same problem several days ago. I flashed the Revolution ROM, and it was resolved.

Hi, this is my first post on here. I searched the forums for this problem I just encountered that happened right after I plugged in my phone at work to get internet thru my PC using the data cable. At lunch time I went home and turned WiFi on and now it just keeps scanning and will not connect to my Wifi! It sees my WiFi which was working just fine since the day I brought it home. All this started because I wanted to try out using the data cable to get internet on my phone since my work doesn't have WiFi. I believe it has something to do with connecting thru the data cable pass-through connection. I am on stock ROM. I rooted the phone before but went back to stock ROM because it just seemed like too much maintenance for me at this time.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? Am I going to have to flash back to original ROM to fix this?
I searched some more on there and only found this other topic but since I'm not at home at I cannot confirm if changing it to charge only and restarting will fix the WiFi problem that I am having! I'll try this out later.

For anyone else having issues, please use this method.
NOTE: You DO NOT have to buy the full version of ROM Manager in order to fix the issue. The free version will work just fine.

What ROM are you running?
Hi so I recently flashed my buddies one s with cyanogen mod and pacman ROM and the ROMs both work flawlessly other then the problem with wifi. The wifi doesn't seem to want to hold a connection. Is there a radio I can flash to get this working? He keeps complaining about the wifi dropping right after connecting. The problem only happened after I rooted and flashed his phone. Any help would be appreciated.

I have also this problem with my One S. It seems that it doesn't want to connect to all WiFi networks since WiFi doesn't work in my home but it works in my school. Someone suggested to me that the problem is bad version of wpa-supplicant binary. I didn't have this problem until I flashed CM10.2 Stable. Sometimes WiFi won't connect before I switch WiFi off and back on. Currently the only solution seems to be changing the settings of the WiFi router if possible. Make sure that WiFi channel is 11 or smaller and try changing the encryption settings.
Hi Team ,
I am having this very weird problem since morning
" I was using the wifi at my brother`s place just fine for a few days now . This morning the internet went dead slow ( on all the devices ) so we reset the router and it started working fine. Now the network is being detected / connecting just fine on all the devices at home ( 1 galaxy tab ,S4, S3 , Note 3 ) but my Nexus 5 is not even detecting the network. I was on stock Rom with element kernel. i did the following
1-) Played around with all the wifi related settings
2-) Factory reset twice
3-) Flashed a few kernals ( including the stock one )
4-) Flashed Mahdi Rom
5-) Flashed Stock rom
But the problem is still there. My Nexus 5 is not even seeing the wifi network ( it was working fine since this morning ). Just to check around i also created a hotspot network on my laptop. All other devices are able to see that hot spot except for my Nexus :crying:
Also
As i am visiting my brother outside country , i do not know anyone else here where i can go and connect to a wifi network. Although the phone is seeing Near by wifi networks just fine. I also cannot check the router settings etc as my brother has lost the id/ pwd
I am getting out of ideas now , and also bombarded by the family on using a nexus instead of a galaxy phone ( not that i care :silly: )
Any help would he highly appreciated

Check if your wifi settings are on 5 ghz or 2,4 ghz only, check if your mac address is shown and try to flash franco kernel
Tried both the 5ghz and 2.4 ghz frequencies but to no avail. I can see the mac address , flashed the latest franco kernel but situation is still the same .
Edit :
Just got the problem resolved . Apparently the phone does not have a sim installed ( i am out of country ) . I just inserted a local sim in and things are back to normal
Very strange problem. Is there any explanation to this ?

Whenever i take the sim out the phone is unable to detect my wifi ?? . I dont felt like buying a sim just for this.
First of all - great work, I love Katkiss
I run 4.4.2 023 on my old TF101G (took a while) with the 101G kernel and so far it works great.
I was able to make a 3G connection via PPPWidget and can now download / update everything, even through PlayStore.
One problem remains though. The 101G also served as a hotspot for my laptop at work and easily connected it via its own WIFI Hotspot.
The Hotspot can still be setup and activated in KatKiss, however no other phone or PC in range actually detects it....
What am I missing?
Thx in advance for all the help

S6 Wifi Fail after Custom Rom Install
Hi guys,
I've just recently (over the weekend) installed VaderRom on my S6, but after I installed the custom ROM (not after root/kernel flash, which was a few days before) I can no longer use WiFi. The phone connects to the Wifi – not problems there, the connection is "Very Good" – but it absolutely refuses to transmit any data over the network. Every internet based app says I'm not connected to the net.
I have a G920I, which I had already updated to stock 5.1.1; Flashed the unikernel appropriate to my model (no issues), got Root, custom recovery, etc. Then, later, I decided to install VaderRom – no issues with install, and everything worked fine. Except WiFi.
Tried XtreStroLite as well, just to see if anything changed, but no joy.
Tried flashing a new bootloader and modem (currently this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/development/guide-920i-modem-xtrestolite-support-t3154861), but no change.
Have now restored to a nandroid backup from before the custom ROM flash, but I still can't get any data over Wifi.
Soooooo............ Does anyone have any ideas? I've Googled, I've searched these forums, I've looked for the last few days for a solution, but I've not seen a single post that seems to cover this issue.
Cheers for any help!
[edit]
So I flashed the appropriate firmware from samsung-firmware.org, which has fixed my WiFi problem. So, problem fixed, but not solved. If anyone has an idea of why this happened, and how I would install a custom rom and prevent this from reoccurring, I'd be much obliged.
