Put it under /system/app/ with root/es explorer and set permissions to 644.

Vlingo doesn't have the Samsung brand on it, though..which makes it lesser quality than S-Voice.
Now that's funny. Maybe I'll slap an apple sticker on the back of my hox. Double its value.

Thats a great idea! I have a bunch of Apple stickers from Apple TVs, I should just slap those on some normal household items and sell them for a markup! Anyone wanna buy an iPlate?

It seemed identical last I looked into it.. I don't really care much though because like siri it's a gimmick.
Actually using Vlingo, i wasn't able to set an alarm. It said it wasn't one of the supported features... but with svoice it was no problem

The best thing about Siri to me was "make a dentist appointment next tuesday at 9:30" and it worked. I hope Majel project actually comes to fruition as a separate product and not something baked in to Jelly Bean that we'll have to wait for.

I can only imagine the surprise on the receptionist's face when she answered the phone and it was Siri on the line calling to make an appointment for you.

Using root explorer, long press on the apk in your /system/app folder and tap on permissions. For owner check only read and write, for group check only read, and for others check only read. Leave all unchecked for special permissions. Reboot and voila!

is there a way to swapp/change keyboard in htc sensation.
The same way you do with every other android phone. The Sensation doesn't come preloaded with any other keyboard though, you only get the stock HTC one with HTC's swype knock off included. You have to install a second keyboard if you want one

None of these applications are much good because they are not transparent to the OS. One should not have to run an application to gain voice control
Thus, the real cure is upgrading the phone to ICS in a few month's time. ICS does have full voice control, so there would be no need for any of these applications. Since AT&T announced that the SR will be receiving an ICS update, I guess that we would have to wait for it. Not passively, however!!! If it is not here by next March, then there would be an issue.

I believe this isn't just some flash able zip tweak. I think framework-res.apk needs to be decompiled and patched with this animation, and every ROM has a different framework-res. But I too am interested in this tweak.

Haha I've been trying to port us an LG ROM like a mofo!! I love their UI.
I'm really impressed with OEM skins these days. Just imagine one day where these firmwares will be desirable and stock android will be more of a guideline and less of "I must have stock just to live" situations. Until this device it was always
1. Get device
2. Root
3. Figure out how to get AOSP(cm10/aokp) running.
But I dream of when we can choose.. where every device ships with AOSP and on first boot you are greeted with an option of downloading a skin. After you log into Google play you can go to skin section and download any OEM skin (after paying the $19.99 one time fee of course ) then anyone could "develop" for whatever "skin" they want.
If you could pay 3.99 for HTC widgets on aosp with Sony walkman for .99 and the LG launcher for 1.99 wouldn't you? I mean Jesus the list goes on..
I say an .apk should work on an Android device... period. The only limitation should android version (can't be backwards compatible forever)
We get to do this for free kinda with custom roms but I think these companies should monetize their UIs and allow the user to choose with their money.

The home page scrolls up and down with a Windows Phone like experience updating your social media that you've put into the phone. Then if you swip left or right it brings you back into the world of Android which I like much more than the "Facebook Home" app from the link above. I think the experience is much smoother and brings the best of both worlds.

Maybe if you did some searching, you'd know that this isn't called Facebook home. This is blink feed, bundled with HTC sense 5. Smh

A port (if it could be done at all) would involve crazy amounts of time and effort. Since BlinkFeed is a Sense feature it relies on HTC's Sense framework which is not included in non-Sense ROMs. Best bet is to use the above launcher or learn to Dev yourself.
Best bet is not use Facebook at all, lol

I'm sure the link was appreciated, but the OP was looking for something more like Blink Feed on the HTC One.
Ok I moved it to q/a. So f/c means force closes an will not open. Also I did mod it myself but with a tutorial the same place I learned how to hex editor of hboots to removed RED text(WHICH IS STUPID EASY) LOL. so did I come up with this idea no but I was looking for the way. I did pull the dialer an follow tutorial an made it work.. my wife an kid an me love this an well we wanted to try your Rom out an now they r pestering me about it lol.

Yeah, I would like to see the Tutorial so I can understand how it works. And so people dont think you are crazy, you should put more info about what we are talking about in your OP (Dialer Mod and post a picture of it).
Otherwise people are going to read this and be like WTH?!?!

Really all it does is add the option to switch back to classic dialer in 3 dot menu . I recall it wasn't that hard I mean to follow the tutorial. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow when at work lol.

Its definitely your mod!!!Never said it was mine..an once I realized that I got this on Xda instead of from teaching myself which was a clear mistake i have been doing so much stuff on my own i got it mixed up..I pm him an pointed him to your thread to see if he could get it working on cleanrom as its the only ROM I can't get it to work on..if you have cleanrom on your phone try it out. I have tried everything nothing works f/c every time but only on this ROM...we were talking bout it in his ROM thread an we moved the talk here is all. Not trying to sell your thunder an im very thankful for this mod as its real nice. just trying to get it to work on cleanrom 1.4.

I don't use that ROM but if you want, pull the dialer from the ROM, post it and I will mod it, or I'll tell you how to do it.

I took no offense bro an you didn't come off that was ..I was just explaining what happen. Sometimes it don't read right via text you know. I didn't want you to think I was trying to take your work at all is all I was getting at. I'm on badseeds now after work I'll pull it from my ROM zip at home...if you feel like it you can pm me what to change I'm always willing to learn something new for down the road
