is there a way to swapp/change keyboard in htc sensation.
The same way you do with every other android phone. The Sensation doesn't come preloaded with any other keyboard though, you only get the stock HTC one with HTC's swype knock off included. You have to install a second keyboard if you want one

didn't try. and i'm sure if i had tried amazon would've noticed my connection originating in germany. plus the offer was 21st only. no biggie ;D i signed up for the swype beta yesterday and so far i'm quite happy with it.

I know it came out a few weeks ago... but Just like the second post I was holding off till today.. I tried it out and works great so I decided to post it up on the sensation forum because most ppl don't search for it like others do... tried to make it easier for ppl that don't search the forums..

The new market is cool, but aside from myself I have seen others have issues as well. Doesn't always show updates for apps and such.
Only real complaint I have about it is there isn't an option to stop update notifications anymore.

It does, it just shows you the update before it's actually available for download. If you give it like 20min you'll be able to download it;-)

Only way to find out is to try.. worst thing that would happen is it will not install ..

Well I'm rooted with cm alpha and woke up today, opened the market and had to accept a new agreement and now I have the music section, so maybe you just need to wait a little or try a reboot? I have never downloaded a different market.

Yeah, but the free section doesn't appear up. I guess it can't recognize the device as a T-Mobile one.
Yeh, I got the update with the music section but it doesn't have the T-Mobile music section. That was what I was looking for.

That is why I want the T-Mobile version because the free songs they have are actually good songs from well known artists.

Install Google Music, log in, then reboot. Upon reboot, open Market app. You'll have the Tmobile music section.
I have never revived the update.. I received the Google music update and an email that said I would get the new music update and market..never revived

Vlingo doesn't have the Samsung brand on it, though..which makes it lesser quality than S-Voice.
Now that's funny. Maybe I'll slap an apple sticker on the back of my hox. Double its value.

It seemed identical last I looked into it.. I don't really care much though because like siri it's a gimmick.
Actually using Vlingo, i wasn't able to set an alarm. It said it wasn't one of the supported features... but with svoice it was no problem

The best thing about Siri to me was "make a dentist appointment next tuesday at 9:30" and it worked. I hope Majel project actually comes to fruition as a separate product and not something baked in to Jelly Bean that we'll have to wait for.

I can only imagine the surprise on the receptionist's face when she answered the phone and it was Siri on the line calling to make an appointment for you.

Using root explorer, long press on the apk in your /system/app folder and tap on permissions. For owner check only read and write, for group check only read, and for others check only read. Leave all unchecked for special permissions. Reboot and voila!

Because NBC has decided to release the app with only a limited number of supported devices. The app's description says more device compatibility is on the way. Let's just hope it's before the games start.
I was looking for it earlier today too. Then i read that you need a TV subscription for MSNBS and CNBC. Dish 120+ doesn't have MSNBC so i wouldn't be able to stream anyway.
NBC has terrible android developers.
Hopefully we'll be able to atleast stream on the PC.

Thanks man! Apps seems to work great on the HOX. Hopefully NBC realizes that. Or maybe Samsung paid them off...
That link doesn't work. It will download the app and install it but then it requires an update which takes you back to the play store and doesn't allow you to update.

I believe this isn't just some flash able zip tweak. I think framework-res.apk needs to be decompiled and patched with this animation, and every ROM has a different framework-res. But I too am interested in this tweak.

Haha I've been trying to port us an LG ROM like a mofo!! I love their UI.
I'm really impressed with OEM skins these days. Just imagine one day where these firmwares will be desirable and stock android will be more of a guideline and less of "I must have stock just to live" situations. Until this device it was always
1. Get device
2. Root
3. Figure out how to get AOSP(cm10/aokp) running.
But I dream of when we can choose.. where every device ships with AOSP and on first boot you are greeted with an option of downloading a skin. After you log into Google play you can go to skin section and download any OEM skin (after paying the $19.99 one time fee of course ) then anyone could "develop" for whatever "skin" they want.
If you could pay 3.99 for HTC widgets on aosp with Sony walkman for .99 and the LG launcher for 1.99 wouldn't you? I mean Jesus the list goes on..
I say an .apk should work on an Android device... period. The only limitation should android version (can't be backwards compatible forever)
We get to do this for free kinda with custom roms but I think these companies should monetize their UIs and allow the user to choose with their money.
