[ROM] Ultimate Droid - defrost

THIS IS NOT MY WORK! This is an AOSP rom brought to you by Blackdroid and the makers of Defrost roms. If you like their work, PLEASE donate.

Originally UD was created for the CDMA Desire so I tried to port over as much as I could to GSM using DeFrost as a base rom and bringing over the UI elements.​
As far as I can tell everything is working how it should and I havent gotten any FCs yet. This is my very FIRST time at attempting anything like this so Im sure there's bugs and i know there are things I couldnt figure out. This is meant mainly as a testing phase and a start for others to finish what I could not due to my lack of knowledge.

I am working on the notification bar issue. Hopefully I can get it fixed soon haha. And are you talking about the UD settings? if so which ones in particular did not work I will look into it.

which boot anim did you try? I did the stick fight and dancing banana and it worked fine for me.
Note: must have data enabled as it actually downloads it and installs it.

going to look into the calendar issue. as for now I just use launcher pro with the calendar widget... but ill try to get that sorted. thanks.

[SENSE UI][CM7] 99% Complete theme ported from Optimus V

Hey guys, I made a sense UI theme a while back ago for the optimus v, but it is really a universal theme. All of the elements need for the theme are included in the zip file, but things like the status bar mods and the fonts won't work because there is no cyanogenmod for the triumph yet. Once it becomes available, You can access the full theme. Changelog in second post. LINK TO THE ORIGINAL POST

HOW TO FIX "ERROR INVALID_KEY" WITH FACEBOOK WIDGET
In order to get functionality from the Facebook widget back, as per THIS, you will need to uninstall the facebook app from your phone, then uninstall and reinstall LP sense ui app. From there, when you enter your credentials in the widget settings, it should work. After it is done synching and whatnot, you may reinstall Facebook app. It *should* work.
Step One
Now you will need to install LP Sense UI, provided at the bottom of this thread. THIS IS NOT THE PAID VERSION, IT IS THE REGULAR FREE VERSION, HOWEVER WIDGETS DO WORK.
You will need to set it up properly for it to work. Do the following:
From Homescreen:
Menu>Preferences>Sense Mod Configuration
Set Number of docks to "1"
Dock Background>Standard (be sure to press it, even though it is selected, or else it wont work properly)
Home button on app drawer "on"
Enable auto Rotation "off"

That should be it for the launcher. You can set other things how you like, I usually use "Rotate 2" as my transition, it looks great with the theme

Step Two
You will need to purchase "WidgetLocker" from the market https://market.android.com/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker
It is $1.99 USD, but it is worth it, it is helpful for many other themes and is great as a lockscreen in general.
be sure to open WidgetLocker from the app drawer to open it in edit or "Tool" mode.
FROM "TOOL MODE:"
Menu>Settings>Enable WidgetLocker
(Skip this if you don't have root) Menu>Settings>Advanced>Root Helper>Check All Boxes, set Autoswipe Pin/Password to "Auto"
Menu>Settings>Advanced>Check "Hide Notification Icon" and "Hide Interaction Warning"
Configure the rest how you prefer.

While you are in tool mode, long press every app, slider and widget and drag it to the trash bin at the bottom of the screen. Then do this:
Menu>Add>Custom Slider
Select "Sense" from the box directly underneath the picture of the slider.
Save.
You will need to long press the slider and drag it all the way to the bottom of the screen, being careful not to put it in the trash bin (or else you'd have to make a new slider )

Step Three
Install any of the clocks in from the included "clocks" folder found under "apps"
Should you install the flipclock app, be warned:
NOTE: THIS CLOCK HAS NO FLIPPING ANIMATION. HOPEFULLY, I WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE ONE THAT DOES FLIP IN THE FUTURE, BUT NO GUARANTEES. I WOULD NEED A LOT OF HELP.
Step Six
In order to get the toggle widgets, such as wifi, bluetooth, gps, vibrate, silence, etc. you need to Purchase Beautiful Widgets from the Market https://market.android.com/details?id=com.levelup.beautifulwidgets&feature=search_result
I have included a brightness control and battery indicator themed to look Sense-esque. They are at the bottom of the Post.
FOR THE BATTERY INDICATOR:
1. Apply Widget to Homescreen
2. Tap on it
3. Select the "Preferences" tab in the top right corner.
4. Check every single box, especially Swap Low/High res. You can select the temperature unit of your choice.

Is it possible to just get the black bar for the Triumph? I've tried multiple methods including using Metamorph, and Gingerbar. All to no avail. I was hoping you might have found another way

You could get root access by using gingerbreak method, then get a custom recovery, I believe clockworkmod is available for the triumph. If you got ahold of the files you might be able to flash it via recovery, by I'm just taking stabs in the dark. *Not responsible for any damage that happens*

I'm more than a little nervous to apply the status bar hack, mostly because what I've read makes it sound like an awfully involved process that could include either (de) odexing every file on my phone's system partition, or else crashing my phone. So if this works, I will be amazed.

Thanks for the reply. There is a deodexed stock rom available, if it helps. I will update the op soon and include a new lockscreen I found. The more replies I get, the more updates I put out.

My phone has rejected the stock de-odexed ROM. Repeatedly Although I also haven't tried any others (so don't lose hope yet?)
Is a de-odexing required to make a theme? (Can an odexed version work instead?) Guess I forgot the stuff I was researching... Otherwise I would probably be clever enough to make the status bar text white.

Yes, the theme is universal for the most part. The only thing that wouldn't work in theory is the status bar theme. That requires CM7, which if you have on your Optimus V would work fine. I developed this theme on an optimus v, if that means anything lol

I haven't worked on this theme in ages. They should be included in the .zip file, if not, just Google "adw sense launcher" and the guy who made that launcher also made the clock themes.

[APP] TouchPal Contacts 4.3.0 on steroids

Guys, here it is the new TouchPal Contacts version 4.3.0 patched to clear missed call notification, with an added bonus (over the previous one): it doesn't require NotiGo anymore!
Also, since in this new version the background service uses low ram (5mb in my case), i didn't disable it.
Upcoming patches:
- add translations (i'll do the italian one, please translate the strings.xml file and post it so that i can add it in the new releases)
- customizable number formatting

Hi to all,
I like very much Touchpal Dialer, but it had some problems for me to be my daily dialer:
it launches a background service that eats 10-15 MB of precious ram (other similar apps don't have any bg service);
it does not clear missed call notifications (on Gingerbread, as all non stock dialers), and you cannot move it as a system app (e.g. using Titanium Backup) because doing so it crashes
it (like many other dialers) does not open when i tap on a missed call notification...
So I patched this app to work as it should be out of the... market!
I changed the service so that now it runs only when TouchPal is open;
I added support for NotiGo, so now TouchPal clears missed calls notifications also on Gingerbread.
But for this to work you have to install NotiGo (see the first post) and install TouchPal after that.
Finally, I added support for the Galaxy missed call notification, so you can finally open TouchPal's call log when tapping on a missed call, instead of the built in (crap) call log.

For the techs this is what I've done:
In SmartDialerService, method ensureService(), I replaced the call to startService() with bindService(), because every TouchPal activity calls ensureService on creation;
In SmartDialerService I added a new method askForStop() to shut down the service when no TouchPal activity is using it, and added a call to this in the onDestroy() method of every TouchPal activity;
In DialerActivity and CallLogActivity I added the call to NotiGo to clear the notifications;
In the AndroidManifest.xml I added an intent support for the action"com.sec.android.app.dialertab.calllog.DetailViewActivity", which is broadcasted when you tap a missed call notification. Also, obviously, added permission support for NotiGo ("thinkpanda.permission.CLEAR_MISSED_CALL")
For further details, please decompile the apk and compare the smali files to the original ones.

Does it display any error? I have not MIUI so i can't test.
But we can test if it is a problem of touchpal or of the builtin contacts app.
If you can install AnyCut (or a similar app) from the market, try to add a new shortcut ("Make your own") using these parameters (without quotes):
Action: "android.intent.action.INSERT"
Type: "vnd.android.cursor.dir/contact"
Then go to the home screen and tap on the new shortcut.
If it doesn't open the "Add Contact" dialog, there should be some problem with the builtin contacts app.

This app replaces the app from market, is it?
Then if we use your app we can't update Touchpal from Market without loosing "steroid"?

Obviously doing so you lose all the customization I made.
I wrote to Cootek asking them to integrate my mods in the dialer, since they can do it in minutes.
So far no answers...

It's a pity, since I like TouchPal Dialer so much, but these "features" i don't like are always there, and ...no reply from them ever.

The ROM is built for performance and speed. It's based on a leaked ICS RUU but I have stripped most of the Sense apps out and replaced them with the AOSP alternatives, including the Launcher and Rosie. I have left a few Sense app in, such as the HTC IME keyboard and Wifi-Tether, but nearly everything else is Sense-free. I'm the only one on the Villain Team with a Sensation, so I will try my very best to keep this up to date, bug free, etc.

It uses the AOSP contacts manager and Phone app. I have a kitchen in the works for you to pick and cook an update.zip with the sense apps you want.
So this means theres autolinking by the ICS Contacts app, the lockscreen is also AOSP so yeah you can answer from lockscreen.

I know it requires a kernel that supports it (which is why I haven't stayed on ICS yet).

Hello! Everyone.
I'm presenting a port of the LG-P990 Rom ShenDu OS
I was only able to port this over due largely to the guides of blindndumd and dubntz. I am by no means a developer, I was just lucky enough to have this working
Everything I personally use works great: Calls, Text, Wifi, Camera (Photo & Video) and Gmail.
If you rely heavily on Google Drive, Alarm, or anything else, I would suggest testing.
Warning......
Flash at your own risk. This rom works perfectly for me, but may not for you. It may even harm your device. So, be cautious then download.

-Wipe data/factory reset
-Wipe cache/dalvik
-Mounts and storage>format system

This ROM is nice right out of the box! I love the drag down options when you touch the time in the top right hand corner. Thanks for this port!

Welcome bro. That's why i posted it. It's very smooth, snappy, and has some cool features.

rom looks very nice can't wait to check if v6 supercharger works thanks for porting

Edit: wow this rom is great and it runs extremely smooth, v6 super charger is working great i did uninstall the two asian text named apps with titanium and installed MIhome, MIlocker and DSP manager.
This rom definitely has potential great work

Very Very Bueno Yall, Its nice to try Different roms Specially New Devs Interested on LG G2x.
Nice And Smooth, Even got faster with SuperCharge V6. Got faster, nice UI. Even with new Launcher over it and still smooth like Butter.

I appreciate all the great feedback everyone has given.
