[Q] Problems with Qualcomm and Lumia 710. - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a strange problem when i try to downgrade my Lumia 710 to install the Qualcomm bootloader.
When i use the Nokia Care Suit to install the downgrade and use the bootloader, when i open the packages, nothing appears on the list, i click ''Update list'' and nothing appears...
I dropped the files in Program Data/Nokia/Packages, i select the RM-803 but nothing appears...
Everything is updated to the latest version, and i downloaded the proper files...
Can anyone help me?

Please take a look at the lumia section. There is at least one good guide...

[Q] downgrading wp7

hey guys,
i've got the samsung omnia w gti8350 and i installed the latest update including kk2, but now i havn't the phone either unlocked nor i have a backup.
i downloaded the full mango build 7720 rtm and the wp7 update cab sender. when i wanted to "update" actually downgrade, the anser was no cab was required. the phone doesn't let me downgrade to mango!
is there a possible answer how i can downgrade it or how i can uninstall kk2 without having a backup?
thanks for your attention
daniel
I'd ask what you did with your backup, but it's probably too late for that now.
You need a ROM flashing tool, not a CAB sender (which is used for updates, not full ROMs). I know that ROM flashing utilities exist for the first-gen Samsung phones, and would assume that either they can be used with second-gen or you can find one that works. The tool used for HTC (like I have) is called ROM Update Utility, commonly abbreviated RUU.
You may want to look in device-specific parts of the forum. Also, just for the record, do you mind posting your firmware version info (from Settings -> About -> More Info)? People are constantly asking how to check for the KK2 version, and it would be good to have a number I could point to and say "if it's at least this high, you need to downgrade."
Here we go,this is what i got after the update:
Firmware revision number 7.10.8107.79
Hardware revision number 23.15.0.8
Radio software version 2424.11.12.1
Radio hardware version 0.0.0.800
Bootloader version 6.1.2.0
Hope it helps, since update i was unable to unlock using windowbreak.

Ive got the versions, only the bootloader is different: 5.12.29.0
@GoodDayToDie: would it be possible to use the ROM Update Utility to flash my omnia w?
Daniel
I don't know; ROM flashing isn't my thing (I'm still on a stock ROM). I strongly suggest you go look at the Omnia [7] forum, if you can't find an Omnia W forum, and ask how to re-flash the ROM. Alternatively, you could try searching (using Google/Bing, since the forum's search tool is down). You could also look at the XDA-Devs wiki; a lot of this sort of info is stored there.
Here you are
OS: Windows Phone 7.5
Date: 2011 November
PDA: I8350XXKK4
CSC: I8350PLSKK4
Download: Click HERE
This ROM is from Poland, unfortunately it's the only ROM I could find for your phone. Anyway this shouldn't give you any kind of problem.
How to flash:
- Extract the archive
- Open the folder Downloader and run WP7_Downloader_Ver_3.8_for_Secure_and_SMD_change_Parttiton_and_Support_Retail_binary.exe as Administrator
- Click on PDA and choose PDA_I8350XXKK4_REV0.nb0
- Click on CSC and choose CSC_I8350PLSKK4.csc
- Click on Phone and choose PHONE_WEMBLEY_16002402_open_KK1_rev00_RC1.bin
- Click on Eboot and choose EBOOT_I8350XXKK4_REV0.eb0
- Put your phone in Download Mode (Turn it off and press Volume Up Key + Camera Key + Power).
- Plug in your phone, wait until the program finds the phone and then click Start
If the program doesn't find the Phone, then you need to install Samsung USB Drivers: Download HERE
hey AshleyT
i tried all you said exactly that order but nothing worked:
picture as attachment
Have i made a mistake?
Uhm... Everything seems correct
Try these USB drivers:
Samsung USB Driver v1.3.2300
Uninstall the old ones before installing these!
Also, I found another revision on that firmware, if you have the same error with the new drivers, try with this other one:
http://hotfile.com/dl/142699209/c6a2bc7/I8350XXKK4_XEKK4_SERKK4.rar.html
i have samsung omnia w with frmware v7720 and diagonisis ver 1109 in which the window break method does not get applied...so for this reason i want to downgrade my phone...is possible to use windows support tool for downgrading to earlier windows ver i.e. NoDO because i dont have any backup of it so i cant even reterive it with zune
i've now tested the new drivers and the new rom that you posted.
It seems not to work! Same problem as before, no way out! I think samsung provided with kk2 an update that blocks all possibilities to "hack" this phone.
2nd gen devices (like Omnia W) can't be downgraded to NoDo because they didn't even exist before Mango!
Anyway 7720 is the OS version, not the firmware.
You can always try the ROM that I posted above and see if you're able to apply WindowBreak on it

Well, my Samsung Omnia 7 also received KK2 update which blocked the possibility to use WindowBreak, but I was able to flash even a custom ROM, so I don't really think that the problem is realted to the firmware.
Are you sure that you're in bootloader mode?
You can also try the procedure on another computer, but I don't know what else I could suggest you, because I didn't have any problem on my Omnia 7!

Are the bootloader mode and the download mode the same? First you mentioned i've to go to the download mode (vol. up + cam. + power).
If that's true i am in the right mode.
I'm interested in downgrade my Omnia W too. I found this. I hope that it helps, but i think, that it's only for upgrade...
Can i make a custom frimware for 2nd gen devices???
Since you'd need to unlock the bootloader before you could install it, a custom firmware for gen2 phones isn't yet a useful project...
So i tried it with later drivers and Poland Firmware and it seems that it doesn't works.. Still the same firmware.
@WooDoo.CZ: don't you forget to ckeck the checkboxes from PDA, Phone, Eboot & Phone Boot. Unless you check these, i think it won't send any files to your wp7 device...
Sorry boys. So I did it again and now i checked it. And same problem as you had.
edit:
I found this. Anybody should try it. I don't have time right now.

i tried now what you found. For me it didn't seem to work! Error: md5 checksumm not valid for both of the roms mentioned before in this threat.
Hmm, so I tried it too, and i had error: This is a unknown binary.. So what next?

[Q] Qualcomm bootloader installed or not?

Hello everyone, im getting setup with Windows Phone, and im trying to install a custom ROM, but im not sure if it has the Qualcomm bootloader. (My phone is a Lumia 710)
1) When i connect it to the PC holding the Vol + button it tells me if i want to format, wich is one of the clues to know if i have the bootloader.
BUT my firmware is 11502, do i really have the Qualcomm bootloader? (the revision hardware number ends in 2.1)
2) To access to the NAND i need Linux or Ubuntu? Or can it be accessed in Windows 7?
Im pretty new in this, so im a bit lost and i don't want to break my 1-week-old phone.
When it asks to format, click NO. Else, you'd brick your phone, mate
I guess you're having Qualcomm. Anyway, to confirm, do it once more, and when windows shows new drivers are being installed, click on the notification bubble. It'd show more details

Yeah, i never clicked Yes when it asked me to format it.
But when it's installing the drivers it stops and just says ''Problem not corrected'' (maybe not literally, im spanish, so that's more or less what it says).
Is there any web where i can download the drivers? Because Windows won't install them automatically...
EDIT:
ok, it says that there are no drivers for ''Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM''...
Alright, the only thing i need is the Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM drivers, but i can't find them... why doesn't Windows install them automatically?
You do not need a driver for Qualcomm, just leave as is. Nss or Downloader will recognize the nand partition anyway.

First of all, congrats as you're having Qualcomm bootloader. Saved you a minor headache of downgrading. Now, the drivers are not required. The method mentioned was just to identify the type of bootloader.
Now, don't hesitate. Go flash with a custom rom

[Q] Need Help with NCS and Lumia 820

Having issues flashing a developer firmware (rm-825) to my lumia 820, it has the us att firmware (rm-824). The suite will download the proper fw, but I have no idea how to flash it to my phone. Also I tried using phoenix, but it doesn't seem to pick up the custom fw I have, and thus I cant flash it to my phone either. My final thought was to change the product code, that way, I can flash the developer fw to my phone, and be done with this. If you have a step by step tutorial, or anything that will help, id appreciate it. Thanks !
Try this: http://www.windowsmania.pl/poradnik...rsji-oprogramowania-programem-ncs-wideo-1091/ it's in Polish but you can use google translator

Lumia 710 7.8 to 7.5

So I got a 710 Lumia, Im passing it down to my mom, I havent used it in years, running 1 custom rom 7.8, my problem is that is kinda slow, slower than I remember, factory reset did not help, so after some searching I read it might be 7.8's fault in this model so Im trying to downgrade
After some searching on "Internetz" I got into the idea I need both Navifirm to download the firmware and Nokia Care Suite to install it.
After some more searching I fount this list of product codes, I did not copy pasted it here because I coulnt find the way to put it as spoilers and its too long, it would spam.
seidea.com/2013/08/09/product-codes-of-nokia-lumia-710 (sorry for the half-ass link, apparently I cant even link unless I have certain number of posts, just add www's)
Anyways, how do I know which model/product code whatever version I need for my phone? also it would help if anyone got a link to a tread on how to downgrade from 7.8 to 7.5 properly, thanks

Manually install Windows Phone 8.1 on HTC 8X?

I have an HTC 8X (AT&T) still running Windows Phone 8.0 (8.0.10501.127) as it seems AT&T never pushed out 8.1/8.1.1 for it. How do I manually install 8.1 (or is it 8.1.1 ?) on this 8X?
I faced the same issue today
Bought 8X for collection and was unable to check OTA updates (looks that all servers all down). I recommend to try Windows Device Recovery Tool, it may suggest to install latest firmware.
Also, you can try to install firmware manually but it requires to have y-cable, device unbranding and creating goldcard. This is complicated process overall and may brick your device (since this device is not supported and ROM urls on old threads may be broken, I do not recommend you to do that)
Hi,
OTC will work when you look at this:
OTC Updater can't reach Microsoft Update Servers
I tried to flash a possible Update, but got this error - anybody knows what's going on here? OTC Updater download OtcUpdater 8.2.1.0 Waiting for next device. Please connect a device via USB. Press q to quit. Lumia 650(RM-1152_15637)...
