Hello all. I have been searching and searching for the app called Reader's Hub. I have a US Version Sprint Tab that I just got yesterday. I found, what I believe to be two files, the Reading Hub.apk and Zinio_pressdisplay.rar. I haven't downloaded them yet because I don't know if they are the current version, and I don't know what to do with the files once I have downloaded them (where to put them, etc). Can someone please help me? I really want this App. Thanks.
You have far too many posts on the same subject, if you keep to one it'll help us all (including yourself) ...I'm pretty new to this forum but not so new to others, and it's not likely to get a nice response from most communities for sure

I'm sorry. I realized that my first posts were in the wrong forums, so I re-posted.
Hehe no worries here, just don't want you to get in trouble ^^
Did you get my PM with the link in the end anyway? I did make you the Zip as requested.
As stated by the title, I know we are waiting for the Honeycomb source to be released before any Honeycomb roms are developed for the Gtab. But, and it's a big But!, Now that google has said they are delaying the release of the HC source are we going to see some Honeycomb SDK ports? Or are we going to wait until the true source is released? I don't really mind either way, it's just a question that is on my mind and I'm sure is on the mind of others here.
Your question has been answered before on several closed "honeycomb" threads during the release timeframe of Xoom.

If you do a search, you will find a lot of info.. In a couple of HC threads, the conversation got very heated between a few members and the dev.. it is why the mods decided to ban "honeycomb" thread. Did the mods say no honeycream thread too?
This thread is one of the HC classic.

While I think your question is valid and worth asking (although as indicated above, you probably could have found it by searching), The question I have is 'Did this deserve another thread?'. Clearly you knew posting new HC threads was a bad idea. Why not ask your question in the 'Official' HC thread?

Most new members are not familiar with the search.. plus, you cannot post a question to the official HC thread. You can send private question though.
I am with Dcon87 that it is also on my mind but I am just not going to ask.. Once a while, the Mod updated the official HC thread with update....
so, just be patience.. everyone!

Fair enough. I didn't realize the official thread was locked. Thought you could post to it.
As for any ports of the SDK, I don't think you will see anything on that front.
The SDK was compiled for the emulator (an ARM emulator). Thus, ports are showing up for phones/devices that run an ARM based chip. Being a Tegra device, that compilation won't run on our tablets.
You may see some renewed interest in trying to pull out certain APKs, but even that has the stumbling block of likely being dependent on the new framework and fragments API.
As much as I'd like to see HC in action on this tablet, and as ticked as I am at google for this move, I think we are basically 'stuck'. Without the source, you are basically pissing up rope
IBTL lol
Agree, without the source, it is hard for the dev to cook. I am following the Notion Ink hack forum.. and they basically said the same, the good news is that Notion Ink claimed that they are working on Honeycomb....
Just wondering will Viewsonic/malata send requests to google to get the honeycomb source? As I read it, tablet makers can make requests to access to the source as long as they are using it only on tablets.

Considering they just unloaded 10,000 GTabs on Woot and the retail channels are having a fire sale right now, I don't think Viewsonic will be doing anything related to decent software changes.

I think you are right. Viewsonic probably won't do anything to it but we may be surprised. I thought last update was the final one.. now, they are releasing another one with the lockscreen. who knows.. Back to Dec last year, the VP of Product marketing of Viewsonic answered some questions in this forum, and I "wish" he is back with some answers on the future of the gtab.. probably in my dream.. =P
I posted this under Android software and Hacking General but no reply, so maybe I put it in the wrong thread. I would like to make sure some of the Captivate Rom Devs see this and hopefully get a chance to program fro AMD.

Here is a direct link to AMD's Career Center / Application for Android Development on AMD hardware.

Mods I am sorry for posting this again in another thread and for it being out of place under the Captivate, but Like I said I would like to make sure the Captivate Devs see this.
Thanks for the heads up dude
You are very welcome
first and foremost, i'd like to start by saying that this is my very first post for an android device and my knowledge level as far as messing around with the software goes is about -10 so please go easy if i'm talking like a total fool. and apologies if this is a new post, i'm new to the forums and i looked to the best of my abilities and found no thread related to this
now onto the important stuff; i'd like to know if there is a way for me to turn my physical HP slate 7 extreme into a virtual Tegra Note 7? i mean, they're almost identical, but not the same. one major issue i have with the S7E is that i have a feeling that HP won't be supporting the tablet very well (and i couldn't get my hands on a TN7 and i needed a non-samsung stylus tablet ASAP) . they're already over a month late on the 4.3 update that nVidia released.
so could someone please point me to a dummy's guide to "gut" the software from S7E and install TN7 software so that i can use this tablet as if i bought it from EVGA or Advent Vega or something? i want to be able to receive OTA updates from nVidia as soon as they become available.
thanks for reading
PS: if this is posted in the wrong section, my apologies, and please move this to the appropriate forum
Just wondering if this section of the site is for the portable Shield, the new tablet version, or both.
I see lots of stuff in the development sections, but I'm assuming they're only for the portable version, for now, since the tablet only just came out.
Hopefully a Shield tablet section will be added to the site, to avoid confusion...
It's for both for now. I just prefix any new posts with [Tablet]. Seems to be what other folks are using as well.
Yeah I guess it's for both until the Tablet gets its own forum, but some things will probably cross over (games/controller support will often concern both platforms)
