Need Help: Tegra Note 7 on HP Slate 7 Extreme - General Questions and Answers

first and foremost, i'd like to start by saying that this is my very first post for an android device and my knowledge level as far as messing around with the software goes is about -10 so please go easy if i'm talking like a total fool. and apologies if this is a new post, i'm new to the forums and i looked to the best of my abilities and found no thread related to this
now onto the important stuff; i'd like to know if there is a way for me to turn my physical HP slate 7 extreme into a virtual Tegra Note 7? i mean, they're almost identical, but not the same. one major issue i have with the S7E is that i have a feeling that HP won't be supporting the tablet very well (and i couldn't get my hands on a TN7 and i needed a non-samsung stylus tablet ASAP) . they're already over a month late on the 4.3 update that nVidia released.
so could someone please point me to a dummy's guide to "gut" the software from S7E and install TN7 software so that i can use this tablet as if i bought it from EVGA or Advent Vega or something? i want to be able to receive OTA updates from nVidia as soon as they become available.
thanks for reading
PS: if this is posted in the wrong section, my apologies, and please move this to the appropriate forum

I can't resist...
I am an owner of the awesome Surface Pro 128GB and am tired of seeing all this stuff about the Surface RT :silly:
Mod's can we please start a Surface Pro thread?
Thanks in advance,
Twack
This subforum says "Microsoft Surface". There is no Pro or RT label on the end of that. I think the intent was for this to be a catch all for both tablet models, It seems like it's a Surface RT forum because that is what came out first. It would likely be different if it were the other way around. Perhaps the best plan at this point is to start utilizing a tag to differentiate threads for those who really only want to concentrate on their specific model. Something like [RT] and [PRO] before the thread title?

Do you think that any questions or answers would apply to both? Prolly not since they are different OS's. The hardware might look the same but only the surface keyboards can be swapped between models. I learned the hard way when I bought my Surface Pro at BBy and asked for the Surface VGA adapter. They got one out, threw it in the bag and charged me some $40 bucks. Got it home only to find it didn't fit in the hole.... (no jokes) I flipped the box over and it said only for the Surface RT. Nothing on the front except "Surface VGA adapter".
Sometimes a little granularity helps. I vote for a split. We have to make sure things fit in the hole.

Those of you who want to see a Surface Pro subforum can post a request here...

The admins (not moderators) make these decisions. Support your request with reasons why you believe one is necessary. Remember that requesting one doesn't always mean one will get created. If it doesn't happen, this is obviously the best place for both devices to share a space, so everyone will have to take special care in specifying the device being discussed in each thread.

Recommend me my new tablet!

With BlackFriday coming, I will be buying my first tablet.
I was set on the Nexus 7, but I saw a friends last night and it's rather small (maybe a little too small) for my liking. So now I'm having second thoughts, of course!
So, what 10" tablet would be the best switch? I need
WiFi
Ability to play flash games
$200-350ish (probably 400 max)
Will be rooting the device, so something with a good variety of customizability
I would rather stick to Google or Samsung, and do NOT want an Apple device. What do yall think?
There are 3 threads devoted to discussions about devices, please repost your question in one of these three threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.

[Completed] Applying Custom ROM on a "No-name" budget Tablet.

I really really hope this is the right place to be asking this, I don't want to flood a place i,ve only just discovered, but I've tried to figure this out on my own and have had little luck, So some insight would be very much appreciated.
So The situation is: I have a budget tablet that came pre-installed with adware and (i think) malware. I've heard of people fixing these sort of things by "Rooting" the tablet and removing the issue. Well my tablet came Pre-rooted, so after looking around some more, i found out about Customs ROMs. Further investigation revealed that most customs ROMS don't support my kind of Tablet, Which is a Tagital (That's where the no-name comes in) T10 10.1 inch tablet. My purchase of this tablet was mostly my fault, as i bought on impulse and didn't look at the reviews at all, which blatantly expose the issues with the tablet.
Now, what I'd like to know is: Is there a way for me to apply a custom ROM even though my tablet is unsupported? I'd like to avoid returning this tablet, so i'd like to get the best out of the situation.

Tab S2 VS Nexus 9

Hey everyone, for the past couple of days I've been searching around and comparing these two tablets to find out their differences due to the fact that I've been offered a tab s2 in exchange for my nexus 9; I'm not sure whether it is a good idea to exchange them or not as both have their advantages and flaws with nexus 9 processor being significantly better. So I'd like to hear from the experts and variety of opinions in whether I should make this decision or not.
Thanks,
For information I used the nexus 9 for pretty much everything from videos to gaming and of course for reading pdfs and other documents etc. My only problem with it is the lack of space as I bought 16gb version.
As for tab s2, it's benchmark is awful with the nexus 9 having a significant lead but I'm loving the larger display, more storage and better screen. So I'm not sure if I should or not someone please shed me some light Dx
I have been always a nexus owner, owning the previous nexus 7, it's my first time switching to samsung and I don't know much about it.
Thanks again, and sorry if it's too long.
Hi there,
There are threads already established that are devoted to discussions about devices, please read, and if necessary, repost your question in one of these threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.
There are also several other discussion threads that you probably should review to help you. They are What phone do you wish you had? or

I will have to close this one. Thanks for understanding.

Help finding a good phablet (6+ inch phone)

before anything let me say to the mods that i searched and there was no thread relating to my need. the recommendation thread doesn't fit my question so i hope this doesnt get deleted.
so, i currently own a huawei mate 7 which i somewhat hate but since i got rid of my nexus 5 late last year i have no choice but to use it. luckily there are new phones available now and later so ill hopefully have at least a few choices.
at the moment im looking at the oppo r9+ but i would really appreciate as many suggestions as i can get. the recommendations need to be of phones that are 6 inches and above. ideally with a snapdragon soc and hopefully with custom rom support. my current discontent with my mate7 is the lack of custom roms and thats due to huwei not helping by releasing sources.
i plan on waiting to buy my next phone till after i do extensive research this time around (never again huawei!..... NEVER AGAIN!!) so suggestions about phones possibly coming out next year are ok. thanks in advance for any and all help!
